I think there is some novelty in saying you built your own car, but being a replica of a more expensive car is pretty lame. In fact, I think its much more respectable to not be able to afford a Ferrari, then it is to ride around in a fake

^ Brick Store.

mmm yeah, Founders 2010 Nemesis, which I think I liked better fresher and on draft - still dangerously drinkable for a big beer like that! I can agree that their everyday beers are pretty average (Still better than Twains or anyone else in ATL) but some of their special beers are phenomenal. Between their casks on Thursdays and some of their limited bottles and small batches, I still like Five Seasons. I hit Cypress St all the time for lunch and their $3 Sweetwater IPA pints. I've still never been to TAP....

West Coast Bash 2011 Photo Updates!

I hope I'm not the only one who thought this was the funniest caption! -
yeah, I don't drink Coke these days, but Coke with real sugar is still awesome.

I missed this... where do you drink in Atlanta? There are some absolutely fantastic places around town. Our brewpub scene outside of Five Seasons is weak, but there are several bars in the city (Brick Store, Leon's, Ormsby's, Porter, etc) that I think are top-notch I would happily pay $10 for Sculpin bombers, seeing as we can't get it in Atlanta - yet they are in NC, SC and FL =(

One of my favorite cities in the world. The woodie, not so much... -
^ failure. I fail to see a problem with 1, 2 or 4. Maybe it's just me!

I know, we can buy many beers (Bells, Founders, Great Divide, LA, etc) here cheaper than in their home states! I'd buy you one, but I'm sitting on more than a case of the stuff from several years. Its often hard to justify having a 12%, $15 beer by myself. I did have a fun party recently where a couple friends came over and we cracked a few vintages of each type. We can open some in the fall

This is a big issue here in Atlanta - very exciting! My theory is that, with Coke having a higher brand loyalty compared to Pepsi, regular Pepsi drinkers have been willing to take advantage of sales on Coke as the nation tightened its budgets in the recession. Of course, Diet Coke is totally better than normal Pepsi, so that doesn't hurt either

Its funny to see how bad we were getting ripped off as Sinners now that LA is available here. We were paying $3 more per bottle and still had to pay for shipping on top of that!

Mongo is delicious, as are many of their IPAs. I do like the Lost Abbey beers though... Red Poppy is actually one of my favorites, heh.

The iPad - Apple's Take On The Tablet Computer
ParkTrips replied to Wes's topic in Random, Random, Random
Look at the graphic you posted though - to save the $300, you'd need to get the iPad through AT&T and give up half of the memory For a more linear comparison, Verizon has the 32GB IPad2 for $729 - a mere $70 less than its $799 Xoom, not nearly as dramatic of a difference as you suggested -
Tokyo Disney Resort Discussion Thread

Without being too insensitive about this, if there was ever a country that was prepared for this sort of disaster, it would be Japan. I can only imagine the troubles we would have if this happened in America (worse than Katrina, I'm sure) There are some really cool videos out there -
you know me all too well I'm liking that angle, at least. The intakes are a bit too dramatic for my tastes, but I pretty much always say that with these types of cars. I adore that color though, and don't mind the black rims for once
-
I've been on opening days with 500 people in the park, and days with decent sized crowds (think weekday in the summer sort of crowds). It's hard to predict. The main problem, as Robb said, is that most if not all rides will have limited capacity. I'd recommend going Sunday of opening weekend if possible. Sunday mornings especially are very light

^ Sweet! I've still never had Kate. If you ever find a beer called "Kern River Citra DIPA" out on tap in SoCal.. try it!! It is ridiculously good, one of very few beers that are better than the Elder in my opinion... Anyways, my local group had a pretty killer tasting this weekend: My favorite new beers included Falling Rock La Folie, Cigar City Palm Ridge Milk Stout, 05 Alesmith BA Old Numbskull, and the Firestone 12-14 lineup

Mitch Hawker 2010 poll
ParkTrips replied to Skycoastin Steve's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I like this, mostly because I also use similar classifications for my women LOL! I would love to see someone rate the fun houses on parameters like "difficulty of drunken navigation" and "ability to induce paranoia"! -
Mitch Hawker 2010 poll
ParkTrips replied to Skycoastin Steve's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^[@ Steve] That was basically what I was getting at.. why would it be any better to rate rides under incredible, once-or-twice a year conditions? Again.. I'm all about olympic scoring if I have multiple samples to go on*. (for the record, I didn't fill out a ballot this year, or last year even, as I just don't ride much anymore. I had no impact on this year's results. But I am definitely one who is always interested in the poll and its results) * I actually want to fill out a steel ballot this year, since I did pick up a few long-time wanted credits last year.. I'm still debating how to rank Olympia Looping (drunken ride vs soberish ride )
