  1. ^I noticed the slight bumpiness at the turnaround a couple of weeks ago also, but this was before the slowdown of the lifthill.
  2. And don't forget a Tilt-a-Whirl that is still operated manually. Also anyone planning on going to Nathan's while in Coney Island should go to the Nathans.com to print up buy one get one free hot dog coupons.
  3. He is actually right, not to that dramatic of a speed difference but you do lose speed down the first drop from being slower at the top of the lift hill. Agreed you lose speed by the end of the ride but not the whole 10MPH difference!
  4. ^absolutely wrong, no scientific basis for this assumption. The majority of the coasting speed is the result of the gravity pulling the train down the first hill.
  5. If only it was Robb head stuck in the door instead of KT. Then all would still be fine in this world.
  6. I think it comes out to $40-$60 per person depending on the number of people you have
  7. I would post sometime nice about Sylvan Beach if I didn't think it was a hole.
  8. The Flash Pass is a necessity on Fridays-Sunday in August. You might get lucky mid-week with crowds but if you want to ride everything be safe and get the Flash Pass.
  9. I'll try not to be bias as I've only ridden a couple of woodies outside the US, but yes the independent parks in the US have some great woodies. I stress the independent parks. Outside of El Toro and Shivering Timbers, nothing from a major chain is in my elite class. Voyage, Avalanche, Cyclone, Phoenix, Thunderhead, Cornball Express, Boulder Dash and Silver Comet are all at indy parks. And then there are Rampage, Tremors, New Mex Rattler and Ozark Wildcat also at indies, but I have yet to ride them. However, I do put Balder and ThunderCoaster in that elite category. Sorry, but I wasn't impressed with Grand Nash or Megaphobia in the UK. Maybe I get to add Troy to the elite list this summer.
  10. Did he just call Wes a "queen"? Why, ban him when she lets you hang around? I think that is ED.
  11. Room can always be made and the peninsula is not sinking
  12. Hey Joe - Jimi Hendrix
  13. Yup, saw most of it packed up this morning when I drove past the Mall thanks,
  14. I sure hope that carnival is packed and gone by this weekend. Otherwise visiting friends might force it upon me.
  15. ^^I wore sleeves (and jeans) at Southport for extra protection. The only time I ever wore jeans to an amusement park . The shirts I wore at the bars after the parks generally had sleeves also.
  16. Nope, just a dopey track guided boat ride
  17. ^^^^BeemerBoy - It was my first time wearing the shirt in public so I didn't cut the sleeves, I save that for old shirts. My shoulders were also sunburnt so I needed the sleeves that day. ^Derek - I've never sat in a good seat on Thunderhawk. I am a horrible guide. But I did get Chuck through HersheyPark with minimal wait times on the low capacity coasters.
  18. The Boardwalk area really does look great, even better in person than in pictures. The Wild Mouse thanks you for the shout out, truly the wildest and best non-spinning mouse.
  19. ^Barry they had no good DW t-shirts in XL, just a craptacular one for $20. Of course we stopped at DW.
  20. That really was a pretty good log flume, I had never ridden it before. I liked the changing of Grasshopper to FrogHopper and any wrestling reference always wins extra points.
  21. Even though the one at Drayton sucked, I'm sure I would ride this one if I ended up at Magic Springs because I AM A COASTER WHORE.
  22. I have no problem waiting in line at a park as long as there are no line cutters.
  23. I have no clue how old I was when I first got on a coaster or what that coaster was. My first coaster memory is Space Mountain when I was 8, but I'm sure it wasn't my first coaster, just my first coaster memory.
