Disneyland Paris advice
larrygator replied to LingLing13's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Come on. Is it really necessary to ask this question? Always get to a park 30 minutes prior to opening. If someone told you to get there an hour after opening would you believe them. Also, one more tip to maximize time on rides is to try and eat outside of the typical lunch and dinner times.. Any place that serves the Monsieur Croque (sp?) Sandwich is a great place to eat. -
I'm pretty sure Linnanmaki was also brought to us by the letter "K"

NEVER POST SOMEONE ELSE'S PICTURE WITHOUT GIVING CREDIT! Doing such reflects badly on TPR and is an offense that will get you banned. -
Look at the bright side everyone. Summer is almost over and many of our "not forum savvy" tykes will be back in school. They will further their education and become more well rounded human beings. They will become bored with coasters and amusement parks in the off-season and we can hold out hope that when they have free time and return next summer they will be more productive posters. Let a Moderator dream, won't you!

Ben and Laurice's Quest for Credits

Ben - no problem. It's a very comprehensive view of Castle Park in pictures. I added many of your photos (and the Castle Park PTR) to the Park Index. -

C) Continue reading AFTERBURN1234's posts on TPR. You are wearing on the patience of TPR moderators, shape up quickly or you can add TPR to the list of roller coaster sites where you have been banned. -
Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread
larrygator replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If you step back and look at the points many of you are debating and arguing over the last couple of pages you can easily see why coaster enthusiasts have a bad reputation. -

Premier's current restraints are far superior to the old OTSRs! -
Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread
larrygator replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey everyone, I've resurrected this thread in anticipation of tomorrow's announcement. I dug up this article from 4 years ago as fuel for thought. Article from July 2005 -

I'm going to lock this thread, please speculate in the Super Rumor Thread. Once the announcement is made please once the below for Kennywood discussions (not specualtion and rumors) I know everyone in the Pittsburg area is excited. thanks everyone Kennywood discussion thread -
There is not a lot to do around the hotel, although I do remember the hotel having quite a few activities. It would be a shame if Templo del Fuego is closed, when I went with TPR the consensus amongst practically everyone was that the show was very good.

ARN&R returns in 140 characters or less

Well it's not as bad as the return of Polio or Small Pox! -
Actually, Robb and Elissa may be stopping in Northern Japan on the way back from China. Which parks are allowing them to film POVs has not been released, nor has their itinerary. Sometimes Robb and Elissa need some private vacation time.

Alton Towers bans speedos!!
larrygator replied to AndyGiles's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This thread is going nowhere good, but it is getting there fast. On a theme park forum, we don't need a bunch of legal non-experts debating "rights" on public versus private property. Especially when laws vary across nations, states, cities and even municipalities. Until Alan Dershowitz chimes in, this thread in LOCKED! -
I deem Peena Puu worthy of inclusion in the Park Index as its' own attraction. Thank you for including the fabulous singing tree of Finland.

Oh I rode the Riverside Cyclone before I knew much about this hobby in the 1980's. Boy was that a great ride. -
If you are going to Darien Lake and planning to stay the night in the area, Martin's Fantasy Island, which has a very good woodie, has an after 5PM special. In case you don't know this already, Seabreeze also has an after 5PM special.

1 - On the old Astroland site at Coney Island there are temporary rides including a kiddie coaster, Deno's WonderWheel Park also has a kiddie coaster and a dark ride. 2 - Lake Compounce 5PM is enough time, I never spend a full day there anymore 3 - Agreed a full day at SFNE and Great Escape is enough time. No need for two days at either. 4 - If you do expand your trip further east Canobie Lake has an odd dark ride, good beginning, non-sensical end. 5 - Driving between SFNE and Great Escape you might divert to Jiminy Peak which has a Mountain Coaster and Alpine slide (Personally I love Mountain coasters) 6 - Magic Forest is 5 miles north of Great Escape and has a kiddie credit but it's not worth the admission fee in my opinion. Not much else for adults to enjoy at the park. Hoffman's Playland does have excellent bumper cars and a kiddie coaster you pay by the ride and is very close to the highway. Hope that helps!

Six Flags Great Adventure
larrygator replied to cooliocody12's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Closest hotels are: East of park: Freehold Radisson opened in 2008 with is 12 minutes from the park on Route 527 and Freehold Days Inn which is on Route 9 about 15 minutes from the park. West of the park off exit 8 on the New Jersey Turnpike are : Holiday Inn, Days Inn and Quality Inn. My favorite food places in the park are in the Boardwalk area: Ted's Cheesesteak's and Nathan's. This might sound odd, but SFGAdv recently added a food cart near the entrance to Runaway Mine Train that serves cups of "Hearty Corn." There are options for spices to be mixed in with the corn and I loved the Indian Spice option. The large cup is enough for two to share as a snack.
