Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
larrygator replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^There is no need to speculate anymore, the picture with the restraints was released by Kings Dominion. Sure it is fine to speculate before a picture was released, but that is no longer the case. Until a different picture is released by the park or Intamin everyone should assume this is the restraint. If anyone catches wind of something else or refuses to believe the picture we have the all encompassing Rumor Super Thread. -

Reminder to everyone, talk about the restraints all you want but stop the debate whether they are Over The Shoulder Restraints are not. I'll post the picture again. Until someone provides an official picture with restraints that do not go over the shoulder, the moderators will continue to delete posts questioning if these are OTSR or not. If you can't see the part of the restraint that goes over your shoulder you probably should be studying for an anatomy class to understand where your shoulder is instead of posting here. Robb - Do the mods have permission to feed the offenders to the Bantron for 24 hours? They are clearly parts of this restraint that connect from the laptop and up and over your shoulder. -

TPR members speechless. Unless the coaster releases Sarin gas on all of TPR you won't get speechless. -

Hey I only see Indiana Beach pictures! Did you decide to cancel the trip to SFGAm. That's a joke folks and if you don't get it that's a good thing. It means you are not obsessed with TPR. -

Harsher weather in Sandusky during the winter creates longer building timetables versus a warm weather environment. -

I think you are doing a great job. Although you got a picture of Buzzsaw at Walibi Belgium, but not the sign. Damn you! I generally find a couple of new ride photos in each of your reports that I add to the Park Index thanks -

In 42 years (Yes, I started searching at birth), I still have not found a donut that tops Entenman's Chocolate covered. If I see one I can not pass it up. Intamin would be no match in this area. -

Riders better hope there is not a slight headwind. I'd hate to be sandblasted at 149MPH. The sand kicking up into your face on El Toro at half that speed is uncomfortable. -

^^^^The most telling thing about that article is the reader comments regarding the corruption surrounding business in New Orleans -
^That would be great to see photos from some of those parks. I'll be out in that area in two weeks. While I have never been, and probably will never make it out to the Amusement Drive-In, I applaud their efforts to keep the industry alive and support a coaster to any degree. Drive-ins are the one thing from my childhood that I really miss. Charging money for those that bring in food is necessary for drive-ins. The cost to "rent" the movies is exorbitant and entrance/parking fees usually barely cover that expense and food (or amusements) are the primary source of revenue for drive-in owners.

El Toro Back or Front?
larrygator replied to cooliocody12's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I find Nitro in the back to be more rough then El Toro in the back. Nitro has a pretty battle rattle, especially at the bottom of the first drop. El Toro has a couple spots that give a bit of roughness but like was already said its smoother then a lot of steel coasters of the same size. In any case I still love it after my 3 backseat rides yesterday. Just phenomenal airtime. ^ In the morning? I was there yesterday and loved getting two rides in real fast with no wait in the back just around 11 o clock. Nitro and/or El Toro rough?????? Not sure what the conditions were, but I haven't found Nitro anything but smooth this year and I only ride it in the last two rows. El Toro - sometimes early in the season and with a less than full train there is a roughness on the first turnaround. But other than those conditions have seen no roughness on El Toro. Also, I generally ride El Toro towards the back of the train. -

I don't remember it being that rough, just real slow and boring. All the other woodies in Spain were pretty rough, especially if you got a wheel seat. -

I doubt La Ronde and CW have much impact on each other's attendance. They are over 300 miles away from each other and each has it's own metropolitan area to draw from. And a language barrier as many French Canadians still are at odds with the English speakers. But don't worry I'm sure kingsdominionlvr will chime in shortly and tell us that we mis-interpreted him again. As the Title Fairy has noticed, he does love to listen to himself. -

Please do all your wondering over in the Super Rumor thread. To keep the site clean we don't have speculation threads for individual parks. -
Step 1 - Listen to the ride ops' instructions. Step 2 - Follow the ride ops' instructions. It is that simple.

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
larrygator replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This morning on the BGE tram a kid asks his father what other rides they are doing today. The father says, "nothing else, we are riding the tram all day." Then the kid says "really." The GP are just too wacky!
