  1. Ejector seat in the Phoenix is incredible; my rear is hardly ever touching it lol. No seat belts either, LOVE it. I'm actually getting to be a bit of a wuss about it...given the right position, it would be so easy to just fly out of the seat. I haven't been on MForce in a few years but I remember it having awesome airtime. Nitro @ GADV too...I LOVE the bunny hops at the end
  2. Viper @ GADV was pretty bad. So was Manhattan Express. NO one ever clapped/cheered whenever that ride was over lol. I might be in the minority on this one but I'm personally not the biggest fan of Mean Streak @ Cedar Point, nor Wildcat @ Hershey. I thought both of those were pretty rough; enough to the point where I just can't enjoy them. The former "Hurt"-ules at Dorney was painful too.
  3. ITA with Goliath too. The pics look great but I'm pretty ticked CRR is gone. To put a wave pool...a wave pool...in its place?? Pffsh. I'm bitter. My biggest gripe with that whole area is the location of it; it's smack in the middle of everything. Crowds are getting thick enough there...now to ride Lightning Racer, I have to dodge half-naked, half-wet adults and children. They should have just put another entrance there.
  4. 1.) Phoenix - Knoebels 2.) Millennium Force - Cedar Point 3.) Nitro - GADV 4.) Griffon - Busch Gardens Williamsburg 5.) Twister - Knoebels 6.) Lightning Racer - Hershey 7.) Storm Runner - Hershey 8.) Kingda Ka - GADV (when its open) 9.) Apollo's Chariot - Busch Gardens Williamsburg 10.) Magnum XL - Cedar Point
  5. Hershey is a nice park; it's very clean and it has some great rides. Their rollercoasters are some of the best, too. It's a well-themed park as well....you know they make chocolate there The people are pretty friendly, guests and employees. Within the past few years, I think it's become over-crowded. I'm not a big fan of huge crowds so it may bother me more so than others...but the crowds there definitely increased. It's not the park itself, it's not a small park...but I always find myself constantly dodging other people when I walk around there. That's the biggest gripe I have with Hershey these days. I'm ashamed to say I haven't been to Dorney in a few years so I can't give a current opinion of what it's like. But I do always remember it being a plesant enough park I do remember the crowds being a little big there, too, at times.
  6. I always wear my contacts when I go to parks so I've never worn my glasses. But I wear sunglasses a lot; I think I've worn them on every rollercoaster I've been on (with the exception of Kingda Ka and just a few others). I've never, ever had a problem, they've never fallen off or anything. I think if they're a bit snug it helps, for the record lol.
  7. I was born and raised in Pee-aay...I think parks are the one thing we praise ourselves on lol. Tradition is something that a lot of us are big on (especially older folk); it ties into a lot of other things in our daily lives, including amusement parks. Parks here, IMO, are near and dear to us. The thing is too is that a chunk of PA is dying off; especially towards Scranton (where I live near). It's all old coal mines and fields and what-not and having something like a traditional amusement park kind of keeps life going.
  8. Great TR! Ahhh I miss the left coast. I especially weep for Vegas Manhattan Express was easily one of the worst coasters I've been on, besides Viper @ GADV. It's too bad, the location and themeing is really awesome.
  9. Good question... I love hangtime. I let the restraints do their job; my hands are never on them lol. I figure it's really the only time a human being gets to experience that sort of thing, might as well enjoy it.
  10. Hercules - Dorneypark Lazer - Dorneypark Viper - Six Flags Great Adventure Batman & Robin: The Chillder - Six Flags Great Adventure Whirlwind - Knoebels High Speed Thrill Coaster - Knoebels At the time, I was debating whether or not to go on Viper (I just didn't feel like getting beat up on that particular day lol) but I'm glad I did. As painful as it was, I'll always remember getting awesome airtime on Viper
  11. You beat me to the punch Schmoofy, I was five minutes away from posting my own!! LOL. It was really gorgeous; it couldn't have been any better for Knoebel's opening day. The lines were a little too long for my taste but that certainly didn't stop anyone I was really sad to see nothing in High Speed Thrill's place, it really was. When we were in line for the Pioneer Train, the funniest thing happened. This lady came in line with a collie. We couldn't stop laughing, partly because we have a collie, but mostly because we've never seen a dog on the Pioneer Train, much less see anybody even try to bring one on. They did let the dog on! I don't know if they charged her extra LOL...
  12. 90% of the time I'm reading textbooks for school Last non-school book I've read was Bloodline by Sydney Sheldon. His books are like crack for me; they're suspenseful and good if you need a simple story to waste a few hours. I've also been reading The Brain That Changes Itself by Norman Doidge. It's a non-fiction book and talks about the brain and it's plasticity. It's really, really fascinating, IMO. If I had the time/money/patience, I'd go to medical school to study the brain/abnormal psychology
  13. A picture of me at my company Christmas party. Lots of alcohol was served...but that's a different story lol.
  14. Last concert I was to was the Beastie Boys at the Festival Pier in Philly. They were an hour late but the show is AWESOME...they're really, really good live. I really want to see Metallica in NYC on November 14th but I have yet to get tickets. StubHub is selling general admission tickets for $1000+. Bleh.
  15. Thanks for the TR! BG looks great, as usual. As does Griffon, as usual I can't believe it's been that long for Wolfie AND Apollo's Chariot...
  16. Oh yeah, I'll go to the park regardless. They have some of my favorite coasters there Oh I haven't had one of the roast beef sandwiches in SO long...that's a good idea, I'll have to get one this year lol.
  17. WOW, really??!!! That's highway robbery!! I'll just leave the stuff in the car and walk!
  18. With the economy these days I guess the prices are understandable. Still sucks though I've seen Hershey's lockers go for $10 a day...a day!!! I've gotten it cheaper at Busch Gardens! (I rarely use park lockers so somebody correct me if that's the going rate these days). Hershey is slowly becoming too commercialized, IMO. It just doesn't feel like a traditional park anymore. I know they have to keep up with the times and all, I completely understand that, but still...I dunno. Maybe it's me.
  19. Granted that looks great and it probably will be but I'm pretty PO'd CRR is gone. It was really one of the best rapids rides; to put a wave pool in its place is an insult to CRR, IMO. I hate the location of that whole water-area too...it's smack in the middle of everything. They should have just put another entrance there. I've been having some issues with Hersheypark within the past few years
  20. I'll be making my annual trip to Busch Gardens Williamsburg in July (can't WAIT for that!)...that's really my biggest [coaster] trip this year. I'll also be spending a lot of time at Knoebel's. I'll also most likely be going to Hershey and Dorney as well but just a few times; the Busch Gardens trip really puts a dent in my wallet each year My ideal trips this year would be Kennywood and Coney Island as well but we'll see.
  21. I'm 26. I don't really remember when I rode my first rollercoaster...I want to say about 10? 11?...but I do remember it was a rollercoaster at Dorneypark; the one that looks like a dragon. I don't remember the name...! But yeah, that was my first one, technically. I was scared to DEATH of rollercoasters for a very long time, I don't really know why lol. I'm almost too embarassed to admit this but I remember being at Cedar Point for a class trip...I must have been 15...my friends wanted to go on Blue Streak and I was scared and refused. I remember her literally dragging me to the line and I still didn't go (it was also the year Power Tower first opened; I remember looking up at it and thinking to myself, "I will NEVER go on that, ever." I went on a few years later LOL). After the "dragon" coaster, my very first official rollercoaster ride was Space Mountain in Disneyworld (again, for a class trip)...it was the year after the Blue Streak incident. My first upside-down ride was Whirlwind in Knoebels. Since then, I've been an adreneline junkie in general lol. It was definitely a HUGE 180 for me.
  22. Mine's Knoebel's. I like to go at least once a month...we usually end up going every other weekend. Granted we go on rides but it's a nice enough park where I can wander around eating ice cream all day, not go on anything and still enjoy the day
  23. OK, Now that I'm done laughing like a maniac, I can finally post a reply. I do feel bad for her but my God...licking 1001 Nachts? I don't go on TV telling people I whisper sweet nothings to the Phoenix when everyone leaves the park. ..... Seriously, whatever issues she has, I hope one day she'll get over them and ride a magic carpet without getting...um...excited??? And for the record, why does she automatically assume 1001 Nachts is a guy?????
  24. I tend to whoop myself lol. Although on some extreme rides (especially the first ride) I have screamed...i.e. on Skycoaster, Big Shot and Millennium Force. But those were the only three lol.
  25. [former]Whirlwind @ Knoebels. It my first upside-down coaster
