I hate Gateway High School. Their policies are horrendously flawed, and they waste financial resources on the dumb@$$ football team when they could have, and should have, been used to improve things like the school's craptacular computers and network, which never seem to work when you need them to. Screw you, Gateway!

Eating and coasters

Roller coasters don't bother my stomach at all; its the Chance Morgan Spin and Puke's that really get to me. -

I believe that the "Second Bank" markings may refer to the bottom of the first drop. Smoothing out the bottom of the first drop along with re-banking the bottom of it would position it right over those markings. Those markings have been sitting there since the beginning of the season and are now heavily faded. I sincerely doubt they have anything to do with the re-tracking. -
Hersheypark 10/19/08 Photo TR:

Pretty cool pictures, man. The Fear-enheit thing is just about the corniest name I've ever seen. What a disgrace to a great coaster. -

Myself, you should submit that track picture to Screamscape, if you haven't already done so. Yay, someone used my Photo TR as an example, now I feel famous as well. New track! Yay, smoothness! -
Engineering Thrills
Kennyweird replied to Airtime&Gravity's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Its not the video; X2 really is "herky-jerky". We have Arrow's poor engineering and manufacturing to thank for that. I watched the show as well, and I can honestly say I wasn't too impressed. Like every other thrill ride related show, it revolves around the park director or whomever trying to make their ride look like the greatest thing on earth when we clearly know it isn't. Another thing irks me, they never mention the companies who manufactured the featured rides. How can you talk about X2 or Fahrenheit and not mention Arrow or Intamin, even when it's clearly appropriate to do so? -

I was screwing around with construction kit and created a really %#$ed up environment. I call it "Torgo". If you don't know who Torgo is, look up "Manos: The Hands of Fate" on google. Wow.... -
Kennywood and Cedar Point TR
Kennyweird replied to Wood Dragon 1988's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah... it's a little more than closed for the night... Judging by this picture I took last Friday, it's closed for the rest of the season. -
^^ Intamin prefabs tend to have more in common with steel coasters than woodies, this includes the presence of friction wheels, cable lifts, polyurethane wheels, etc. Now on to my rating: I give this a 5/10. Now before you all go ballistic and start crying "underrate!", let me give you my reasons for this. Good: -Nice original layout. -Plenty of airtime! Bad: -Track is ridiculously pumpy! -Lift hill is not straight! -The train collides with itself on at least one occasion. -Banking is off. -Intamin prefabs do not have a steel support structure! (as far as I'm aware) Other comments: -If your going to build an accurate Intamin prefab, I suggest you at least use the AHG to heartline it, since real prefabs are heartlined, and it will fix that banking issue I mentioned. Overall, a great concept, it's just the trackwork that's the problem. Try to improve that in the future.

Photo TR: Phantom Fright Nights 10/10/08!
Kennyweird replied to ms13's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I was there the 10th as well. Seems like all enthusiasts think alike. I was going to do a Photo TR, but I think I'll forgo it, since this one's a heck of a lot better than mine would've been. -

Gaze upon a 4 dimensional object! Actually, it's just its shadow. 3D objects cast 2D shadows, so 4D objects cast 3D shadows. Since we can't depict a 4D object in our 3D universe, we have to depict the next best thing: its 3D shadow. It makes perfect sense! Courtesy of Wikipedia.
