Efteling Discussion Thread

I agree 100 percent with this. If slots are gone for a ride or at a less than ideal time, I'd still like to have the option to wait in a standard queue. -
TPR Live! Live Streams Around Parks
Canobie Coaster replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I like watching them for parks I've never been to since it helps mr get a feel for the park's atmosphere. Rcdb can tell me if the park has a worthwhile coaster, but a live stream can tell me if I'm walking into a charming park like Waldameer or a lifeless one like Clementon. -

I dress for the worst (double under armour, winter jacket, hat, gloves) and shed layers if needed. Don't some parks switch out wheels for the colder weather? I think I saw that on the Great Adventure forum for Nitro. -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
Canobie Coaster replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Superman at SFNE (barely) after the park gave just 15 minutes notice that they would close 6 hours early. I've never ridden it in the rain before. All I can say is that I'm thankful I'm visually impaired and need to wear glasses. -
I typically don't do the haunts/mazes, but I am all for parks extending their hours. Same with the Christmas events. The only haunt I regularly do is Lake Compounce's because it's nearly an hour long and you reserve a time. At most parks, when I see a longer line for a haunt (that may cost extra) or a shorter line for a coaster, I'm picking the coaster every time.

Did they reopen it after that piece fell in the queue? -

Please don't be another coaster so I'm tempted to return -

Fury rattled a bit on that first low hill, but other than that it was glass smooth and the little bit of rattle wasn't enough to detract from the ride. I know what people are talking about with regards to the rattle, but it's never been enough to ruin a ride for me. The only B&Ms that truly stink are the stand-ups, like the steaming pile of poop near Fury known as Vortex. -
If you owned your own theme park

I'm going to pull a Six Flags here and RMC the GCI twister I created. -
I make an annual trip to Maine for Funtown because of how cheap their twilight tickets are. This will give me something to do in the afternoon beforehand. The other interesting item in the article is that Palace Playland has one interested buyer in the Galaxi. It's an older coaster, but I do wonder who was interested.

Palace Playland is adding a new $4 million roller coaster next year that will replace their Galaxi coaster. The "Sea Viper" is coming from Italy and will be the "only one of its kind in the United States" once it opens. The coaster is 70 feet tall, will seat 24 riders, and is a bit larger in footprint than the Galaxi. This new coaster should serve as the premier attraction for this beachfront park. Great report! I'm really looking forward to visiting the park later this month. -
I stopped by the park today to validate my 2018 season passes and get some rides in since I figured the park would be dead. I was correct on the latter as I have never seen the park this empty before. Unfortunately the lack of crowds was to my detriment today. We arrived at 2:45 since we saw the forecast had the rain stopping around 4-5. We figured the park would close early around 7 or 8. The park did close early, but earlier than I expected at 4. I don't fault the park for closing early but I wish they made the announcement they were closing at 4 sooner than 3:45. We were over by Wicked Cyclone when we heard that so we had to run across the park to get on Superman. Otherwise we would have missed it today and that would have been a bummer having driven 2 hours. Everything was running 1 train, but we got on Wicked Cyclone twice, Superman twice, and Pandemonium once since nothing had a line. The crew at Wicked Cyclone's crew was painfully slow and spent more time socializing than checking restraints. Superman's crew hauled trains out so fast we were able to fit 2 rides in. Afterwards we stopped at Nicky's Pizza down the road. I have to stop there after every visit. For $15 we got 2 orders of fries, 2 jumbo slices of pizza, and a gyro. And it was all good too! Goliath was of course closed. We got a ride across from 2 small kids. We spun like crazy. We rode Wicked Cyclone in a cyclone. Lines were like this for the hour we were there. Nicky's Pizza afterwards.
