  1. This. It didn't ruin the ride for me, but it didn't make me want to ride over and over again. We decided that we really liked the first half of the ride, but then we held on for dear life during the short hops at the end. In the end, Lightning Run won out over Storm Chaser as our favorite ride in the park. Storm Chaser was my first RMC conversion. I like Outlaw Run and Goliath better, with Outlaw Run being my clear favorite. Of the RMCs I've been on, Storm Chaser is only ahead of Goliath. The final bunny hops are like a bucking bronco but I still found their intensity enjoyable. The main reason I rank Storm Chaser towards the bottom of the RMCs is the lack of a real first drop. That's my favorite element on all the other RMCs.
  2. ^ You guys got Frankie's Mine Train in 2005 lol. I have a feeling when the long-standing rumor that the Alpine Bobsled is removed manifests itself, the park will get a new coaster. However, I think that new coaster would be located elsewhere in the park and the Bobsled's old spot would be reserved for a water park expansion.
  3. If that's the case, I'll be sure to get some last rides on it. The forecast looks perfect tomorrow to visit the park. Consistent light rain all day and 60 degree weather, aka no lines.
  4. For a tourist town, the main stretch of Lake George is really nice. They definitely have enough activities to stay busy for a long weekend.
  5. Great report of Ohio's 2 Cedar Fair parks. I honestly didn't find Vortex too bad last year, but I didn't want to reride it because of how strong the rest of the park was. Any trip report with David Pumpkins is a good one.
  6. At least based on my experience, the Giant Discoveries take a while to get going but their max swings beat the Huss Giant Frisbees, so yes. The non-full swings on the Huss ones give air while they don't on the Zamperla one. We're talking the difference of a 9/10 kind of ride vs. a 10/10 kind of ride.
  7. Even this one has the barrel roll turnaround which is a new element for them. As long as RMC keeps adding new elements such as this or that cutback on Twisted Timbers, I think they'll have enough variety in their conversions to make the rides different.
  8. That's weird they'd call a scrambler Tourbillion after they add 2 tourbillion rides to other parks. Glad the page finally went up so we could get some clarity on what they're adding at least.
  9. I agree the giant discovery restraints are better and less restrictive than MaXair. The 4 max swings on Riddler Revenge have slightly better air than any of the MaXair swings; however, those are the only swings with air. MaXair had far more swings with air, which is why I prefer it.
  10. The seats don't flip so it's more of a trabant/wipeout style ride.
  11. The antique cars are directly behind Buzzsaw, so I don't quite think they could fit the ride there. I still support adding a ride inside Superman's turnaround, but don't see that happening. Maybe the plot to the left of Mind Eraser could fit the Tea Cups? I know that's near a hill though and I forget how quickly the hill starts.
  12. ^^ I'm only 160 pounds but usually got at least 2 flips per ride. Even the rocking was fun for me though. Now the one at Fiesta Texas is a completely different animal. I got 6 flips on that one.
  13. Yeah that's definitely the old spot of the Tea Cups. Coasterbill noticed a few pages back that the Tea Cups were left of the Holiday in the Park ride list, so it was largely suspected this is where Harley Quinn would go. I just hope the Tea Cups will still be at the park next year in another spot since those things spin like crazy.
  14. I wasn't counting dollars, but in terms of the quality of the additions I think they fit the parks pretty well. Also when I went to renew my pass I noticed a new perk this year. I'm interested to see how frequently and what rides this will be valid on.
  15. Yeah I was thinking how fortunate we've been with the New England Sky Screamer, Wicked Cyclone, Fireball, Joker, and now the giant discovery all in the past 5 years. As someone who spends 95% of the time in the ride park, this has really helped round out their ride collection. It's very early, but I have to think the water park is getting something next year after the streak of dry additions.
  16. Is the park still keeping their other Ferris Wheel as well with this addition? La Ronde already had a pretty good flat ride collection, so this will just add to it. I would have thought they may look to add a new coaster with Cobra being removed.
  17. ^ If the name is the only complaint you have, you know the park knocked everything else out of the park.
  18. There was nothing quite like waking up and seeing Jim Reid Anderson on a motorcycle. It just wouldn't be Six Flags announcement day without him, so I'm glad he made his return to the chain recently. Overall a much better year than last year. Twisted Cyclone and SFFT's Wonder Woman both look great and many of the parks got awesome flat rides that will compliment their coasters nicely.
  19. And there's the Skywarp. I was wondering if the rumor was wrong watching the announcement video and then it appeared at the last park, SFDK. I would have thought this would have been added to a park without a Larson Super Loop, but I don't think SFDK could have fit much else where this is located. You can tell from the video how shoehorned it is in there between Superman and the Go Karts.
  20. Based on the rumors I was expecting a Thunder Rapids clone, but this looks like a very good addition as well. These are high capacity and combine two of the better water slides out there into one.
  21. Great addition! Like Magic Mountain, this park needed another great flat ride and this appears to fit the bill. Hopefully with Justice League and this opening next year, that area of the park will be less spooky during Holiday in the Park.
  22. I'm a fan of the free flies, so this looks to be a great addition for the park. Well the name is going to get confusing with Fiesta Texas having the Golden Lasso in the name and this one being just Wonder Woman Coaster.
  23. By making this larger, at least it does separate itself a little more than the versions that you see at carnivals. While often made fun of for now being a coaster by us, the smaller versions are pretty fun rides so I'm sure this will be the same. These give crazy hangtime.
  24. The ride's placement is great as that big empty field by Joker was screaming for a new addition. I'm really interested to see how one of these rides, but it certainly looks interesting and unique.
  25. This is a great addition. The things the park was lacking ride wise was in the thrilling flat ride category. Now along with the coasters and Lex Luthor, this is a must hit in any future visit. I'm guessing this is a Zamperla based on the use of Riddler Revenge in that video below, but would love to have a confirmation.
