  1. I can't marathon Batman without getting out of my seat, but I can ride it back to back if I give myself the time to walk around the exit/entrance.
  2. ^ Blue Fire presumably wasn't designed for a spinning car initially yet they hooked the spinning car up a few years later and I remember seeing a rider video and they looked like they were enjoying it. This ride is being designed for spinning from the beginning so I imagine it will be comfortable.
  3. Great report! Glad the weather ended up working out. I purposely stayed about 45 minutes from Wildwood due to the hotel prices.
  4. If the park stays open, you will have a great day. Everything should be a walk-on except maybe the Yankee Cannonball which should only be a 2-3 train wait as opposed to the regular 30+ minute wait. However, the park does sometimes close in rain so either call in advance or check their Facebook page. I was actually considering sneaking over there after work if they stay open because of how light the crowds may be.
  5. Great photos and review! I was interested to hear how Mack's version of the Mega Lite turned out and glad to hear it's a home run. It's also cool to see another one of those Funtime drop towers. I thought Dollywood had the first for some reason and didn't realize there were others.
  6. ^ Ah thanks. With how slow it travels through that zero-G inversion in the second half, I was worried that could be enough to make it a risk to stall.
  7. How does that park in Japan with the sit-down and stand-up train handle that situation? There's a precedent to do it, but I do agree logistically it would be complicated. That's why I'm intrigued to see how long the line for the reverse car on Australia's DC Villains hyper coaster gets.
  8. It's not exciting for coaster enthusiasts, but the ride was really smooth (as of 2014). It's a great family coaster. Most of the RMC conversions are when a ride becomes painful.
  9. Darien is run by Premier who owns Clementon, which doesn't instill much faith for me. When I visited the park in 2010, I thought it was just ok but at least everything was running. Only major negative was one train ops on Ride of Steel despite a consistent 45-60 minute queue.
  10. Glad to hear Daredevil Falls isn't being removed after some of the posts over the past day.
  11. Wild Mouse is the only coaster I have seen generate a longer wait but that's due to the ride's putrid capacity. When everything was a walk-on, it still had a 20 minute wait. The first time I was at Dorney (2005), it was a "busy" Saturday. Hydra was new that year and still only was a 5-10 minute wait. Talon had a 10-15 minute wait. But Steel Force had a whopping 15-20 minute wait.
  12. I imagine Valravn closes for wind because of how large those trains are, but that's not a fault of the ride itself. I too didn't see the ride down for maintenance once in my visits last year. I also find Dive Machines glass smooth. Even with the old OSTRs, I can't think of a single rough spot on Griffon.
  13. The 2nd launch on SeaWorld's Wave Breaker coaster is probably in the same ballpark speed-wise and it was still a solid launch.
  14. Great update! I was so hungry at Casino Pier that I went to the same pizza place in the arcade. I fully expected it to suck but it was actually really good. You skipped Gillian's while you were in Ocean City? I actually enjoyed that park more than Playland's Castaway Cove. Gale Force was just ok in my opinion.
  15. I didn't notice much of a difference between the two Flight of Fears. Both are great rides.
  16. ^ I agree. There's a reason SFNE can have as many rides as they do with single train operations. SFOT could never get away with that. So having a single vehicle that seats 40-50 people should be more than adequate for them.
  17. Daredevil Falls was fantastic. It is in kind of a weird spot and doesn't have too much signage though, but it'd be a shame if that ride is on the chopping block. I saw it closed for my 2 visits last year, but it seemed to be running fine for me this year.
  18. Thanks that explains a lot about the variability between S&S towers. I had a hunch that incident was the reasoning behind the back row policy but I can't see how that practically would do anything.
  19. Great addition! Hydrus was a ton of fun. I hope this version has the lap bar only trains too.
  20. Looks like a very strong addition. Considering the tight footprint the old Boomerang took up, this is a major home run for the park. I don't think this alone is enough to get me back to SoCal but I'll definitely stop in Knott's the next time I go to Disneyland.
  21. Looks like a great ride! I really like the tunnel after the first drop.
  22. I am a huge fan of Mack's smaller spinners like Turbulence and Sierra Sidewinder. Even though those rides are only 50-60 ft tall, they have some surprising forces on their helices. So seeing a spinner here with 2 launches, inversions, and a vertical drop seems too good to be true. I have completely forgotten how weak the 2017 coaster class was with all these announcements today.
  23. I knew the ride would look amazing and that I would be planning a trip to Cedar Point next year, but my jaw still hit the floor. Seeing the shear size of the ride actually become a reality blew me away. The first half looks amazing and then the drop after the MCBR appears that it'd be as tall as Storm Chaser (or a bit taller) so there's still more than enough steam to give crazy air to the end.
  24. ^^ Steel Venom's track also looks off in that image, so I wouldn't read too much into the new trains unless we hear a follow-up announcement.
  25. Wow Twisted Timbers looks amazing! I think it will be nice to have more of an out-and-back style RMC with all those straight air-time hills for a change. I already needed to make a return trip to Busch Gardens so this seals Virginia for my plans next year.
