NTAG was definitely a kick a$$ coaster and has secured a spot in my top 10! The night ERT rides were so amazing! I agree that the male ride-op was securing the lap bars a little harshly, but overall I didn't have a problem with the stapling. Even stapled I was still experiencing the ejector air quite strongly! I can't even begin to imagine this ride with a loose restraint. Everything about the ride was great. Amazingly steep and air-filled first drop, loved the over-banks, and great ejector air. I think this weekend was my first experience with true "ejector" style air. Overall I think NTAG is a solid, fun attraction and I really hope that this concept catches on for some of the older/abusive giant wooden coasters.

Wow, amazing looking ride!! I agree that its great to see B&M doing some experimentation with different ideas. I think I might be leaning more and more towards China 2012! Let's see how my finances go over the next year . -

Joey, thanks for the amazing Photo TR! I love looking back at these and reminiscing about all the fun times we had on the trip. That day was an absolute blast, and Prowler ERT was incredible that night. -
Yeah I'm actually trying to plan my trip to where I drive halfway to San Antonio that night after the bash event. Then I'll wake up that morning drive the rest of the way to SFFT, and attend the park Sunday before flying home from San Antonio on Monday morning. Does anybody know what a good halfway point would be to stop and sleep between Arlington and San Antonio? I'm thinking somewhere around Waco or maybe even north of the Austin area.

Photo TR: Opening day for Raptor at Gardaland
coastercrzyjames replied to Hhappy's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Wow, I'm impressed! Raptor looks like a good ride, love the theming!! Looks like B&M did a good job with this "prototype". I hope this design catches on, it could be fun for some parks to play with. -

I'm so glad that everyone is having such a good time in Australia. Wish I was there, it definitely is on my list of places I want to see before I die, haha. The parks you all went to so far look really nice, loving the reports on Superman and Jet Rescue looks awesome! -
West Coast Bash 2011 Photo Updates!
coastercrzyjames replied to Hhappy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This year I brought my mom and sister along and we all had such a great time, despite the insane amounts of rain we experienced. Thank you to Robb & Elissa, and the parks, and everyone that helped to organize such a fun event. I really enjoyed participating in TPR Quest, such a great game! -
I'm highly considering attending East Coast Bash. My summer classes that I had to drop NE Tour for end on the 5th, so I could fly out just in time. However if I came out for ECB this summer, I'd want to rent a car and go see the other Pennsylvania parks such as Dorney, Knoebels, Lakemont, and Kennywood. The only big problem is that I don't want to go visit all those parks alone, so if anyone is interested in doing something like that, let me know.

Thanks for posting those photos Joey!! That night was a total blast, one of the best nights on the Mid-America trip by far!! I don't even remember how much I drank that night, but I consumed a lot! And seeing Leslie Hall was def worth it! -
Mitch Hawker 2010 poll

I personally had The Voyage as my number one wood coaster, although keep in mind I have only ridden 40 something wooden roller coasters. I haven't yet had the opportunity to enjoy other great wooden coasters such as El Toro or Boulderdash. I thought Voyage was a fun ride, despite being rough, it was pretty intense and had some of the best air I've experienced on a wooden roller coaster. Also keep in mind I'm more of a GCI fanboy anyways and had Renegade and Prowler as my number 2 & 3. -
Hmmm, this event sounds really tempting. I have been really bummed that I had to drop the NE trip and maybe this could be my replacement for the event. My summer college courses end Aug.5th so maybe I will come spend a few days in PA. Could I realistically drive to Dorney, Knoebels, Kennywood, etc and visit them as well within a week's time? Looks like I'm going to need to do some planning .

Photo TR: Cheetah Hunt Media Hard Hat Tour

Wow, beautiful photos Adam! Thanks for posting, the ride sure is coming together nicely, looks like you definitely enjoyed the tour. I personally can't wait to visit BG again and ride it, maybe this fall sometime. And isn't the moat's purpose, correct me if I'm wrong, to act as a physical barrier for the animals in areas that give said animals free range to roam. I thought I remember hearing about those at BG once. Anybody else know anything about that? And if all goes according to plan should we see testing within a month? -

Mitch Hawker 2010 poll

My complete set of wooden roller coasters as of 2010. I know I have the "clichéd" Voyage as my #1, but I feel its the best wooden roller coaster I have ridden to date. I enjoyed the sensation of speed, good air, and direction changes despite being a rough ride, I was only able to ride it about 4 times this summer. It was very intense and definitely impressed me on my first ride! The majority of my top 10 wooden coasters are GCIs, as I am also quite the GCI fanboy. I enjoy their good pacing, multiple changes in direction, and decent floater air. I'm sure that after this next year I'll have more to write home about and I'll add El Toro, Boulderdash, and more to top of my list. 1- The Voyage @ Holiday World 2- Renegade @ Valleyfair **Favorite Steel Coaster goes here** 3- Prowler @ Worlds of Fun 4- Thunderhead @ Dollywood 5- Raven @ Holiday World 6- Terminator Salvation/Apocalypse @ SFMM 7- Cyclops @ Mt Olympus 8- Evel Knievel @ SFStL 9- Cornball Express @ Indiana Beach 10- Rampage @ Alabama Adventure 11- Roar @ SFDK 12- Viper @ SFGAm 13- GhostRider @ Knotts 14- Avalanche @ Timber Falls 15- Outlaw @ Adventureland 16- Giant Dipper @ Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk 17- Hades @ Mt Olympus 18- Great American Scream Machine @ SFOG 19- Tornado @ Adventureland 20- The Boss @ SFStL 21- Cannonball @ Lake Winnie 22- Fairly Odd Coaster @ Carowinds 23- Giant Dipper @ Belmont Park 24- Lost Coaster of SM @ Indiana Beach 25- Gwazi Lion @ Busch Gardens Tampa 26- Gwazi Tiger @ Busch Gardens Tampa 27- Screamin' Eagle @ SFStL 28- American Eagle @ SFGAm 29- High Roller @ Valleyfair! 30- Thunder Road @ Carowinds 31- Hoosier Hurricane @ Indiana Beach 32- Underground @ Indiana Beach 33- The Legend @ Holiday World 34- Colossus @ SFMM 35- Zeus @ Mt Olympus 36- Georgia Cyclone @ SFOG 37- Blue Streak @ Cedar Point 38- Pegasus @ Mt Olympus 39- Twister II @ Elitch Gardens 40- Hurler @ Carowinds 41- Mean Streak @ Cedar Point 42- Grizzly @ Great America -
I had never actually ridden BBW, or let alone attended BGE until the year of the its closure. The main reason is living in the Southwest for most of my life, I never really had the opportunity to travel out to parks on my own until I was financially independant. Up until about 2008 I had only gone to the Orlando parks, so-cal parks, and regional parks in my area. Thanks to TPR especially the tours, I got the feel of actually traveling out to parks on my own and actually knowing people in a park's region to travel and visit with. I'm not going to say that BBW was the most amazing ride around, however I did like it for what it was: a unique, top-notch Arrow Suspended coaster. I do miss the ride, however I'm not at the park enough to really care, and it definitely wouldn't keep me from visiting the park again. If anything the closure of BBW was what finally got me motivated to go and attend BGE, I really wanted the credit before the ride left. I went about two weeks before its closure and rode it a good 8 or 9 times that day. I will miss the Arrow Suspended breed when they're all gone though, and we all know that it is possible that could happen, probably not right now but ten or fifteen years from now, sure it could happen. Being realistic about it all machines either reach a breaking point where the cost to maintain outweighs the benefit and/or they are phased out by new technology. That being said, the ride will hold a memory for me. When I was younger and becomming interested more in roller coasters, BBW was one of the rides that really caught my attention and I'm glad I finally got the opportunity to appreciate and enjoy it. I am really looking forward to it's replacement though!
