  1. Since we're talking about musicals, a quick little plug for MY new show! Brief synopsis In January of 1995, I turned thirty years old. What had I done up to that point with my life? Where was it headed? Who would I meet in the future? Who had I let fall by the wayside? These and a million other thoughts were going through my head for about a year before my birthday. I began to jot things down, write lyrics, compose songs, establish situations and characters, most of whom were basically me. I wanted to tell what it was like for me, what it is like every day, for anyone who ever wondered “What now?” The songs deal with the many aspects of love, relationships, families, dating in both the straight and gay worlds, death, loneliness, and the search for answers in a world so filled with unanswered questions. I staged a production on Just This Once in August 1995 and have been working on it ever since, adding songs, creating scenarios, and basically trying to bring the story to life. The cast consists of three men and three women, all strong singers and actors. Fast forward to 2015, and I am finally restaging the show at the Orlando Fringe Festival. I plan on recording it as well in the coming months. If you're in Orlando, PLEASE check it out! Tickets available here: http://orlandofringe.ticketleap.com/just-this-once/
  2. I used to collect a TON of stuff, but as I have grown older, I now try to stick to quality not quantity. Lately I have been getting old Cedar Point mugs from Ebay. Two of them I have owned for 40+ years but the others are new to the collection. An awesome 20th Anniversary collectible from Tokyo Disneyland 2003 A 2000 banner from Epcot that they sold to cast members. Not mine, but my husband got these when working at EuroDisney before they changed the name to Disneyland Paris. The back of the mug
  3. DO's: Get in early and ride MF and possibly Maverick before opening Start at the back of the park and work forward If you really want to do the water rides, do all 3 at once (Thunder Canyon, Shoot the Rapids, Snake River Falls) and then change clothes since you will be soaked. If possible, take a mid afternoon break and walk the beach or just get away for a bit. I love walking through the museum in Frontier Town See a show! DON'T: Get in a line no matter what. Gatekeeper's wait times drop off considerably once everyone has moved on. Just because it's at the front doesn't mean you have to do it first. Take the Sky Ride 1st thing in the morning. The line will be long and you can always come back to it. Bring any unnecessary loose objects with you. I leave my camera in the car for the morning rides and retrieve it later so I don't need to rent a locker for every ride.
  4. I love how they pick rides that haven't even OPENED YET!
  5. On the bright side they are FINALLY closing that train wreck Entwined and I REALLY hope the new Festhaus show celebrates the heritage and pure fun that This is Oktoberfest was. However, since the majority of the Entertainment staff was laid off a few months ago, I am not holding my breath.
  6. Giant rock tower? Maybe they need a new transcription person!
  7. Rode Gwazi yesterday for the last time. Now I had ridden it on opening day YEARS ago and felt it was good, but not GCI great. Over the years it got worse and worse. Then I rode it 4 years ago with the new trains. It was GREAT! Smooth, enjoyable, fast. That didn't last long. And yesterday I rode it in the front seat, thinking it would be the smoothest. Wrong. It was rough. It was shaky. It just sucked. I will NOT miss what this ride has become. Empty station. They are only running one side but they decided to use on of each train (Lion and Tiger) til it closes. So does it count as two credits?
  8. Whenever I see one on Twitter, I just reply with my own hashtag: #stickdick
  9. Just going to say it. My 2nd year doing this gift exchange, and no thank you from the recipient. I know you cannot make it mandatory, but when someone takes the time and effort to buy and ship gifts to a complete stranger, a simple thank you does not seem to be asking too much.
  10. OK. Christmas was almost a week ago, yet still checking to see posts of everyone about their gifts. Even a simple thank you would suffice, but it seems now two years in a row, the person I sent gifts to hasn't even posted a quick thanks. It would be nice to know that all of our hard work was appreciated.
  11. Great TR especially the before and after pics of you and your sister at RR Coaster! G;ad you enjoyed the parks!
  12. I was at IOA last Sunday watching Grinchmas. The man in front of me (who insisted on letting everyone know he only lives 10 minutes from the park and so is there all of the time) starts talking with the family next to him. They tell him they are from San Antonio and go to Sea World all the time. And then the genius replies with "Well, I feel bad for Sea World here. They're probably going to close it." Hey dumbass. SHUT UP!!
  13. This was already posted four months ago. Please LOCK
  14. Quick observation: If you received your package, maybe post a short "hey I got it but I'm waiting til Christmas to open it." I shipped mine out over 3 weeks ago, and I am hoping it arrived but no mention on this thread. Thanks!
  15. Woo hoo! My gifts arrived today! MANY thanks to my secret Santa (whom I don't know!) Feel free to comment or drop me a message so I can thank you again! Now onto the pics! That's me!! OOO! I didn't wrap my gifts, so this is appreciated! Even my dog Nahla cannot wait! Hmm.....Amazon wish list perhaps? Woo hoo! A Broadway CD I don't own! But I do now! And an awesome book! Thanks Secret Santa! Nahla is not a fan of the genie!
  16. Gifts mailed. And now the waiting begins!!
  17. Beautiful! Two questions: How much are rides? Do they sell the frozen custard year round, or was it just for the grand opening? Thanks!
  18. Pleasant Surprise: Sledgehammer at Canada's Wonderland It looked intimidating, but it was actually a lot of fun, and I think the only one of its kind in the world. Unpleasant: Bizarro at SFNE Maybe it was an off day, but I was so underwhelmed by this ride. Millenium Force all the way for this guy! Yes! Eh....not a fan
  19. Yay for holiday fun! I've worked at WDW since 1999 and am a former Cedar Point, Busch Gardens (both of them), Universal Studio FL and Japan, and Sea World cast member. I am more into vintage stuff like Cedar Point early 70's to mid 80's but not picky. Since I work at Disney, I'd prefer not to get anything from there since I would most likely have already gotten it for myself! I am a HUGE musical theater fan and music director, but again I probably own most cast CD's. T-shirt size Large. And here's my wish list from Amazon in case you're stuck! http://amzn.com/w/N84RGJABIC3R Any other questions just ask or check me out on Facebook! Happy Holidays! And can I PLEASE suggest that when you get your gift, you do a posting here with a few pics? It's the least you can do to thank your gift giver for his/her time and effort! Thanks!!
  20. Perhaps the reason they changed the garland is that the new parade's floats are too tall. I know during the Christmas TV special taping, they used to take down the garland. I LOVE the new look! Classy! And I am going to the party tomorrow night!
  21. Saw it last night, and it was AWESOME!! I think the Meet and Greet at DHS should start mid November. Can't wait for that!
  22. WOW! Thanks for the awesome pictures Robb! I think Tappin' and Yappin' would fit PERFECTLY in the smaller venue!
  23. Amazing! Spend money to make money. Hear that US parks?
  24. Just got back from my absolute last ride on Maelstrom. Got lots of people stopping me for my t-shirt. If you want to make your own, here is the link to the artwork http://blog.mrgrant.com/2014/09/maelstrom/ And here are the pictures I posted on Twitter and Instagram today. If you do get a tshirt made, feel free to use the #onelastride hashtag so I can see them! #onelastride #letitgo Hmmm...maybe it's time to fix the Epcot banner at parking. Yup Time for #onelastride Disappear! Disappear!! Have a coke and a smile Yup NO!!! But they did start showing it as soon as I took this picture! Wonder how old this kid is now? My last ride Norway: land of Golden Girls boots and floor length coats.... Cutting edge technology And models stuck in the '80's #letitgo Mmmmmmm
