  1. Scorpion has one loop, and Laser has two loops. I think it's more fun on Laser because it has two powerful loops. They both turn around and around, but maybe Scorpion turns around a little more because it doesn't have an extra loop. Again, I think Laser is the better version, but I think Shockwave at SFOT is even better than both of those. ^^^^^Everything you said made sense. Wow, and I thought that I was the only one that thought that about Steel Force, Talon, and Laser being the greatest of the three.
  2. Why is it up for sale? It's a really old ride is 1. I don't think it gets too much of a line, but yet it's not my homepark, so I don't really know if it does it or not, but I'm thinking it does. I think this ride is an awesome ride, but what can you do about it?
  3. The park closes at 10PM. But what park stops operations and forces people from the lines? Scooby Doo is usually a 20 minute wait on average. I waited 10 the other day, though. Backlot has two points of airtime in the front seat - after the 89*turn, you swoop down then up: airtime. Coming up into the 'dead end alley' there's some airtime. The carousel moves at a...moderate pace? Boomerang Bay is included. Everyone usually rushes for Firehawk and FoF at the beginning of the day. Though Invertigo is always a one train op. lines can build up after 11:30-12. Thanks for the information.
  4. There are two Batman's I know of in the Dark Knight. After you turn the second time, Batman is on your right. So, look right. So, basically, it's lift hill, turn once, go through Joker Grafatti, and than turn again, and Batman is on your right. Also, there is a drop you go down, and Batman is on a motorcycle. I believe this is right after the truck is firing at you. He is on the right side.
  5. You gotta love the Geico tower.
  6. ^How long is the line usually for the Scooby-Doo laser shooting ride? If the park is only open till 10:00, why do they have the Beast open at 10:05? Is it open later than the rest of the park? Is the Invertigo packed even at the beginning of the day, or are people always going towards the back of the park to get on Flight of Fear, or Firehawk? Also, is the waterpark separate admission or not? I think it is, but I don't see where it says it is automatically included with admission. Does the Backlot Stunt Coaster have any airtime on it? Does the carousel go quite fast for a carousel? I see it's an old PTC, and I really like an old PTC carousel that goes fast enough for a carousel.
  7. I don't think so. The Great Adventure people say they have the same stuff as in scenery. The slanted floor isn't that bad.
  8. Six Flags America - All rides open during the full season - This is a rough one, but I think it's Six Flags America ultimate goal in 20 years. lol Six Flags Great America - Remove the old tv poles as they aren't in use. - I love what they did from 2007 to 2008. It's so pretty where Deja Vu, and Splash Water Falls was before. No, improvements there for awhile. Six Flags Over Georgia - Put on 2 trains for any ride at the beginning of the day, and don't take trains off and on. - Get clocks, and put them at the front of the entrances to roller coasters, because Six Flags Over Georgia employees like to make up there own time, and don't realize that ride lines are supposed to close at park closing. The patrons also want to know what time it is. Also at SFGAm, sometimes the same thing happens.
  9. Can you please explain why you say that? Is it because of the name changes? That's a bad reason to not go to an amusement park. Additional stuff for SFGAm: Six Flags Great America Park management - County Fair doesn't open till 11:00 am. These rides that don't open until that time are the Demon, American Eagle, Iron Wolf, Fiddler's Fling, Wiggle's World, and the Great American Raceway. I don't know if the train opens because it is in County Fair, but it is in Hometown Square. - This park is strong in operations as they will have 2 - 3 trains per ride running besides the mice coasters which have more than 2 - 3. - In case, you didn't get the memo, you cannot get on Deja Vu, Space Shuttle America, or Splash Water Falls anymore. - There is a sign that says no single riders are allowed on the Great American Raceway (Antique Cars). - For the Dark Knight, you have 2 rows of line, than you enter the theater. Than, you have 8 rows of line, and than you go into a preshow which is about 4 minutes long. After that preshow, you have some more hallways of line. So, it's going to be a pretty long line especially when they only have 6 cars running. Since last time, they might have taken one off because they been having trouble with that ride. My average for a ride time on this ride is a little more than an hour (1 hour and 9 minutes), but I avoid Saturdays. - Ragin Cajun takes forever. It looks like hardly any people are in line, but it just is slow as heck waiting in line for that ride. Food Recommendations -I second the funnel cake sundae. This comes with ice cream, chocolate or strawberry syrup, and a cherry on top. It's pricey, but so good. Ride Recommendations Add to the list: - Whizzer - Ricochet
  10. I believe Six Flags was aiming for a ride that would trick the tweens/teens to hop on this thing, and really like the ride. Thus, put the mouse coaster in the dark, and no one would know what the ride is. Also, being at Great America, you have to hide the fact that it's a little like Ragin Cajun, so the box conceals what it is. Now, they took it off, but going to Six Flags website before, you would see an introduction that says psychopath, and other words which is really family orientated. I thought so. The movie is PG-13 which means it's suggested for people 13, and over. The thrilling factor at Six Flags Great America website tells me Max, and not moderate. If you go in line at Great America, the sign says High Thrill. The commercial doesn't say that this is a family friendly ride whatsoever. The only key to smaller people going on it is that the lower height requirement. That's it. Everything else to me suggests it's going to be as exciting as Raging Bull, or Superman without actually riding it. At Great Adventure, the president said that if you like El Toro, or Kingda Ka, you are going to like this ride too. On the website, it's in the thrill section instead of the family section. Finally, from the Six Flags Great America website, read this description. It's doesn't sound family friendly at all: "The Dark Knight Coaster transforms guests into citizens of Gotham City — caught in the middle of a city under seige and torn apart by The Joker. With The Dark Knight Coaster, guests experience the ride of their lives. Venturing through demented hallways of twists, turns and hallucinatory images, they are tormented by The Joker himself. Then as they set foot onto a distressed, vandalized train platform, they can only guess at what awaits them as they speed through six 180-degree hairpin turns, climb unseen hills, plunge into pitch darkness and dip into unforeseen danger. As they attempt to escape the terror, their only hope is that Gotham's Silent Guardian — Batman — can save them"
  11. How many kids are going to come off saying I'm scared from it? That's what I'm really wondering, or have nightmares at night.
  12. ^^What new systems would these be?
  13. It's smarter what they did with the preshow to not have it right before riding the ride. Why, you ask? First, people might be stuck in the preshow area because you are saying that they should go on the ride right after it. So, you can't get the next group of people to go in the preshow. Secondly, you have the space factor. That preshow is in the old theatre. After the preshow, and a little bit of line, you go in this new walkway indoors that connects the two things which is the theatre, and the coaster building. So, where are you going to put the preshow at? Thirdly, Hard Rock Park became controversial in what they did to that one B&M coaster. You board the train right after the preshow. What happens if the train is ready to take off right away, or what happens if the train is ready to take off, but the people have to watch the video, and they can't get to the ride. The preshow video is about 4 minutes. The preshow kind of sets the mood, but it also is used as a stall tactic so the guests feel like they are doing something else now. It's funny to see the people leave the preshow area, and think they are going to get on the line right away. Some people even left the show right away thinking that. How did they do that? They opened the door even though they weren't supposed to, and went through. The only way that there is no people is when the ride first opens, but you aren't supposed to go through the door. I'm thinking that the mouse coaster isn't going to exist like it is pretty soon as in the trims. It keeps on breaking down. A supervisor told me yesterday that they had to take a car off because it was having problems. I'm thinking that means because it doesn't have many trims, or brakes during the ride, that they might add some which would make much sense if you want higher capacity. That was with 6 cars, so I imagine they ran 5 very late yesterday (almost at closing time). Putting a trim or brake on a very unimportant part to me, is not a big deal.
  14. Rolling Thunder, it's alive. I gotta love that ride. The boomerang looks painted really good. I wonder how they got the box idea for the Dark Knight. Hmm. Dark Knight & Nightmare at Crack Axle Canyon. I can't think, now.
  15. My invert is not on that list. It's Deja Vu. After Deja Vu, I would say: 2) Batman the Ride 3) Raptor 4) V2 (SFGAm) 5) Montu There's more inverts I've been on, but that's all I will list.
  16. Wouldn't that be a loose article, and you might lose it while riding the ride you are on? I don't think that's such a smart idea.
  17. The reactions from people exiting the ride doesn't tell me that this ride will be that popular for very long. They were running 6 out of 10 cars. Can anyone tell me how many minutes it takes for 24 people to go on that ride?
  18. When rides first come out, they are very easy to get. For instance, you can go to Six Flags Great America, and get a Dark Knight shirt. I don't care for it though because what I see Six Flags doing is just putting the logo of the ride, and that's it. There is no coaster on the shirt besides the logo. Some shirts have it, but a lot are logos that I see. A place like Disney World is more likely to have older ride shirts. You can usually find them in the store at the end of the ride. They are Pirate's of the Carribean, Space Mountain (I think it looks ugly though.), Splash Mountain, Expedition Everest, and Tower of Terror. So if you go Hersheypark, I imagine they might have a Farenheit shirt because it's new. Also, you can purchase shirts online at the Cedar Point website (Go to shop online), Dorney Park website (Under Marketplace), and this website http://www.sixflags.com/greatamerica/ . Towards the bottom of the page, you see Six Flags store. Click that. They are selling Goliath at SFOG, Kingda Ka at SFGAdv, and Tatsu at SFMM. Ignore the box that says the product you are looking for is not found. Just close it, and click on merchandise in the green box. Not all Cedar Fair parks sell merchandise, so that's why I say those two. Maybe more than those two, but I don't really know.
  19. ^How long did it take them to take it down? I was talking before this year. Great America has a big wasteland now as you are saying. Kentucky Kingdom has a closed off section. SFGAdv, what I'm thinking is that you can't really see the rides that are in the closed off section.
  20. I think Six Flags need to give them more money to fix the stuff that doesn't work to well, and give them a new ride also. Just give them 2 flats even, and not even a roller coaster. That's horrible that they are closing down those waterslides, and leaving them. I think they don't get that leaving stuff to rot leaves the park people thinking that this park is going downhill fast. Oh well. Six Flags Magic Mountain is a prime example of that.
  21. I have Deja Vu, Screamin' Eagle, and Raptor. I would love to hear which ones you have.
  22. Sounds about right to me, except omit the part about it being "fun"... I totally agree about Maverick. I think it's just a good coaster, and not a great coaster. I think this Farenheit ride looks awesome though. I can't believe the major price difference between these two coasters. One is 12 million (Farenheit), and Maverick is 21 million. Wow.
  23. Are you sure it's only for 5 years? I really hope it is, so Great America doesn't get it. They need a better inversion on this ride. ADMIN EDIT: One comma made this sooooo much easier to understand.
  24. I don't really like log flume rides. However, I would say the best two are Skull Mountain (at SFA- Airtime in a flume!), and Splash Mountain. Kiddieland is okay, and I think all the rest I've been on pretty much stink.
  25. ^^I think the ride in front does usually get a long line because it is the ride that people first see when they enter the park. This is unless it's a really old ride. You say there was always a long line for it. When you have one train going, and people are saying that the time it takes to load one train, and unload the other is just nuts, that's why you have the really long line for it. I think Six Flags is undervaluing the entire chain with these really cheap prices. One day admission is you can come back all year is just a stupid idea. What the heck are they thinking? That's why they can't get enough money to fix the place after all this time. They are putting money in the park, but a lot of it is about saving costs by removing rides. I think X is a great ride though.
