Do try and get to it. To me, w/o even having been there yet, Blackpool feels (and looks like, thru countless books and video programs) like the Big Brother my crappy little Playland Amusement Park would aspire to grow up, and become.... but never does, has, or ever will (it currently seems), darnit. Not much scenery within the park itself to view, but hey - right beside the ocean isn't too shabby, hmm?

Whats The Weather Like Where You Live?
Nrthwnd replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
Beautiful, clear, sunny skies today. And a temperature of 6'C. -
^ And out of the thousands and thousands of times BTM has taken to the tracks.... well, the number of times has been really REALLY low for crashing, y'know? These times that have happened in the past few years, of course, are serious enough and shouldn't be ignored. But hey - people have to deal with flying every day, up there in the air in something that shouldn't be able to hang there, in the air??? Not exactly related I know - but if a crash (and/or a death) scares you enough NOT to ever ride a coaster or coaster-like attraction again or at all.... well, good luck at picking your rides, beause I know there's a few coasters in your future you probably don't want to know past histories about, heh heh... Be concerned, I know. That's only human. But don't use these 'events' as total guidelines for your Ride Experience Happpiness Pie. Things happen. You'll be fine. And Welcome to the TPR Gang! Yo, you got some Ears man??? (EDIT: Editting my 'shock' there.)

Well, since your posted photo showed you starting to eat the first model... maybe you need a backup one, hmm?

Fans want Mr. Six back!
Nrthwnd replied to Thrillrider15's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Maybe TPR should 'adopt' Mr.Six, and start a tradition of adopting old used theme park logo characters... ...like my four! (see avatar) That's three trolls and a wizard there, btw. -
Thorpe Park Discussion Thread

Maintenance, and probably so if the train got stuck at the top, cause I've seen that happen to the dragster before. Comforting to know that it might 'stick' at the top, lol. :? I'm just glad I am not maintenance who'd have to climb up there to that walkway, etc. etc. Lookin' pretty nice there, I must say. -

Pick N Mix Video #1 Contest Top 20!
Nrthwnd replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think you should wait until the end of your trip, come back and then let everybody know what the results are/were.... That'll make the kids squirm a bit, hmmm? Give Ted and Wes a good time to deal with all, those twenty (or more) vid afficiandoes, hee hee hee. Hey, take your time - they can wait - we all can wait. Have fun, hmm? -
How is Disneyland?
Nrthwnd replied to ManWithNoName505's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
And if not for just the attractions themself... it's always the atmosphere and environmental realism that Disney puts into each of it's themed lands. There are always little 'touches' here and there in the park, you'll suddenly notice and just smile, thinking you've discovered a secret nobody else knows about the park. Disney is so good at doing 'that.' They are great at makeing the intimacy real, in all the genres of the lands, incl.Toontown and my all-time fave, New Orleans Square, "the smallest of them all" (lands) and the most rich in design and atmosphere, including two steller original attractions there. They have the most marvelous way of covering plain old buildings up, too! -

Coaster Shows on TV
Nrthwnd replied to kenshinmac's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's very frustrating to try and find some of these listings, when most of the time, Discovery Channel advertises the US Listings thru general advertising, and nothing more. PLEASE keep us informed here, and yes do give the dates to Robb and Elissa. Much appreciated. -
WTF when I watch and listen to phone-in TV shows, particularly ones that are involving our upcoming national election in January (Canada)... these "people" call in and then start going ahhh, ah, ahh, ah, um..... Write your f-ing comments and questions down on paper, peeps! Or at least, be prepped that you know you're going to be 'heard' on television. Hmmm? That too hard to do? Probably is, for these jerks. Hmmmph.

I didn't know Robb and Elissa 'poke' each other with 'cattle prods' on their trips and exotic journeys... Wow. The things you learn at TPR. 8)

That was fun, thanks. That third breakdancer was really good, huh? More than I could ever do, hah! I'd just pay somebody else to do it, lolol. The pyrotechnics show looked awesome. Was that in the Fire/Ice Dragons section, of Mythology? I've never been to IOA, so am not exact about my "Land Names," heh heh. Looked great. Love them fireballs going off.

Congratulations to you both. Now - go get a job!
