  1. ^ Just in time for Cherry Blossom Season in Japan!
  2. Same things I thought of, when masks and testing were going to be (probably) a part of re-opening parks. Are the masks going to have little straps in back, so they won't fly off during a coaster ride? Sounds silly/stupid to ask, but hey. They may go there with that. Time will tell.
  3. Your bandana works, for myself. David makes ours from paper towels, which constantly tests my trust in his choice of 'filter'. And I do trust him, truth.
  4. Another thing I remember about this production, is how it has, for lack of a better word, de-volved into this one hour online special we watched. The production of it I saw back in June of 2011, was a 90 minute, one act version of the original show. And that... ...That has been for me, the best legendary trivia about Cirque I could ever dream up, lol! For it seems that when ZED first premiered in that theatre, it was a two act production. But eventually, it got around to the producers of it, that most of the entire audience (mainly local) was leaving the building during Intermission! It seems a lot of them had never been to a show that had two acts, and an intermission...... Who knew?! So they trimmed it down to what I saw in 2011. 90 min. I had the program along to follow this online version of it, and know of two acts that didn't appear in this version. And that was okay. It certainly didn't take away, any of the intensity that I saw there, the other day. Good for them! Bonus ZED Trivia! I forgot to mention. The day I saw it, I was in queue to get my tickets. I had an online copy with the right # on it, in my hand. One of who looked like Security, came up to me, and asked me if she could see my ticket. One second of a look, and she asked me if I could follow her... please? What she did, was VIP me to the front of the queue to get into the building, AND get a discount coupon on merch I bought in their Gift Shop! No drink or snack perks, but that was okay. And then... ....Then, I find out. Not only does a rather large part of the section I am in, devoid of an audience, (to my right) I am sharing part of my row with seven+ people...all from the 2011 TPR Japan Tour! Apparently, we have all bought tickets for the same night and section, from around the world, and they put us all together... in the same row. That was something to enjoy in how random the world works, at times. (Blissing out on FANTASMIC! soundtrack from DisneySea. We saw it in 2013.) Emma and me. She was heading over to see the next ZED show. And I had just returned from seeing it! And note, TDLR wasn't selling any EARS at that time. Only headbands, like I have on. Now they do, tho.
  5. ^ I wondered if that's how it started out. And now I find out... it's true!
  6. Well... This was supposed to be Opening Day of Playland. But right now, and all afternoon, IT - IS F-ing POURING BUCKETS of RAIN Outside! Gee. Glad they decided to postpone the date. For now.
  7. EDIT To Add To The Above: I meant to add this set along with the above sets. But somehow I couldn't get the photos to copy and work, here. Till now. Yay for small miracles. By the way, these are from the 2009 Playland Season. (2009)
  8. It's definitely wierd seeing that much forest around Corkscrew! Great photos of past CP. Thanks for sharing these and the other photos.
  9. ...or "Shake, Rattle & Roll"! Three sets of past Playland ads to show. Which essentially targeted the head, parts of the body...or both. Wheee. The first set's year I can't find, at this time. The second set is from 2017. And the third set is from 2015 "The Beast Arrives" Series I posted a few days ago. Only back then, I only had two ads. But I finally found that Whac-A-Mole one. Yay! Enjoy. (2017)
  10. ^ THANK YOU for doing all this, Elissa! Much appreciated.
  11. Elevator Love Letter Starz
  12. Truth be told...
  13. We watched The Devil Wears Prada last night. Still a brilliant Meryl Streep film. Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt hold their respective own, too. And Stanley Tucci is always fun to watch, as his character(s) usually evolve, too. And the whole fashion scene (probably true to the 'art-form') is just nuts!
  14. Well, all of the money owed back to me, from cancelled shows, has been repaid. About $600 Cdn.worth of tickets. I should be happy, but of course, I'm not really that happy. I would rather have seen the shows than not see them. But, my credit cards ARE becoming less ....uh.... demanding. Happy Dance for that.
  15. Question: "Which Part Is Best?" Discuss. Left: "Well, I say Kibbles." ~ Right: "Well, I say Bits."
  16. We went for Fine French Cuisine Take Out tonight. Turns out it was #TakeAwayDay . Not sure which country this was in. But we did our duty and supported a fave restaurant of our, Absinthe Bistro. Here's the photo of our 7 pm pick up. Anybody else with a great Take Away TR to share? The pizzeria opposite us is doing their social distance thing, for orders at the door. The New Building at the corner. This household does the 7 pm appreciation Big Time, with music, noise...and MORE NOISE! Our order is ready! Juliana and Cory. Host and Head Chef at Absinthe. Great couple. Great staff. Awesome food. It was raining. Everything out. Beef bourguignon and scallops were the main courses. And bread w/butter! Rice pudding and creme brulee for dessert. Lots of "dishes" to recycle, and we hadn't even finished dessert yet!
  17. Hmmm. I honestly believe that this year should be called, "The Year Of Being Together/Apart". NOT "The Year of Co-We-Know-What". The way everyone has been coming together, through the world wide web, with mucho imagination and style.... To all the world involved. EDIT: And all Coaster Enthusiasts on the Front Lines, Medical and Non-, Everywhere... YOU ARE AWESOME! Robb and Elissa? Maybe it's time to add a "hands clapping" emoji to the collection. A suggestion for these times.
  18. To be honest, I truly believe, that West Coast Bash (usually early Sept.) will be postponed. Till......? Just a heads up on that. I'm also thinking, that both the Playland season AND the PNE in Vancouver are a no-go this summer. But, what can ya do?
  19. ...But Back Then, The PNE Called It The SkyGLIDER! It was 1450 feet in length, and ran from Playland to the Exhibition Buildings at the opposite corner of the PNE grounds. And it was very "open" with no restraints whatsoever on the seats. And from past history, nobody reportedly "fell out" of it. There is a story about some poor woman's wig flying off, lol. But there was no lock on the safety bar to hold it down. And all the riders were smart, even the teenagers(!), and stayed on the thing. It operated mainly during the PNE itself. But for a few years, during the Playland season, they would operate the SkyGlider as a there-and-back ride. They had ride ops at the other end, making sure, along with a sign saying "KEEP YOUR FEET UP", that nobody got off at the other end. This worked out alright. It operated from the mid-1970s to just before Vancouver's world's fair, EXPO86, opened in 1986. All the photos are from the net. The Playland Station. Photo taken, from the Spiro-Tower queue/exit ramp. Gliding over Playland. Again taken from a Spiro-Tower queue/exit ramp. And behind the big blue pole... Playland's original Haunted House. Taken from the SkyGlider. (o; One of the many "event shows" that SkyGlider traveled over. Not the best view of it, but one can see where it traveled to.... ...The West Station. With the (then) new Spiro-Tower in the background, in Playland. Hey ladies! Great hair! At night, and wet. Not many riders on it, but still a nice back & white shot.
  20. Tomorrow evening, we'll be getting our chic French Cuisine Take Out..... for nearly $100 Cdn. (incl.taxes & tip) http://www.bistroabsinthe.com It is awesome French cooking! Especially that creme brulee'. Run by Juliana and Cory.
  21. Since this was the day for the 2020 TONY Nominations to come out, we all know that's going be delayed, as well as everything else in the current world. But here's the actual posting they released, back at the end of March...
  22. ^ That coaster looks really good. Hope it all opens, eventually.
