  1. From "The AHA Moment" Dept... I just realized I have eaten take out/away food in nearly every country (hotel rooms) in the world I have travelled to, on coaster tours... Huh. Damn. Now I'm hungry for a double cheese burger. Mmmmm.
  2. ^ And it just gets better, the more you wander through it all. For instance...
  3. A really 'Grounded' Theme Park. But I totally agree with this. You're right.
  4. ^ Yeah. Everything seems to be coming back, in April.
  5. G: Gigi (1958)
  6. ^ No, "she" is in Selva Magica park.
  7. ^ Yum! And at my/our fave WDW resort, the Polynesian. That's where I had my first ever Stuffed French Toast, served to our room back in...1987! And it was heaven, that French Toast was. I would definitely eat at the Ohana, if we ever got back to WDW. Breakfast and other meals there, too!
  8. ^ That's true. And I bet I have paid for some pretty pricy food at a few overseas parks, myself.
  9. C: Chicago (2002)
  10. So I guess that means "uh uh" to breakfast at Be Our Guest? There must be other spots in the park, with better priced morning food?
  11. ^ Hmmmm. Generally speaking, I would probably buy about 1/4 of what's offered there. For a start.
  12. "Cowboys and Kisses" Anastasia
  13. Hansa could be going the same way as it did with Fluch Von Novgorod. We got to ride it, partially-themed, back in 2009 on the TPR Tour. Loved it! Then we returned last year, and re-rode it with everything finished. Still awesome, but WOW with all the immersive theming and all! Even better!!! They may go this way, with the new one, as well. Open it before all the theming (and painting) is finished. Fluch. In 2009, before all the outside/inside was finished up. A great coaster then...and now.
  14. Wood, no matter how much you change it, protect it and strengthen it, still eventually decomposes. It just isn't as lasting as steel or cement. Most times. IMhO
  15. I miss my beeetyoootiful #600 sweetie...now ReBorn!!! So glad Mexico is a touch closer than overseas, lol. Great Update, Chris! You look happy enough.
  16. "Totally Useless Trivia, About the Color Orange..." Orange used to be The Only Color you could (almost) not buy, in... glitter. Around the 1970s - 1980s. Truth! Posters, drag stuff, crafts...all things now done by the internet these days. The color in glitter was very rare back then. Have no idea why. Still don't know why.
  17. Someone in the Silver Dollar City thread just chatted about the now closed Ozark Wildcat coaster in the former Celebration City park.... PLEASE somebody adopt this beautiful wooden coaster, and bring it back to the life it deserves? Such a great, nifty layout. Wish we had this one, besides Coaster at Playland (PNE).
  18. Or paying twice! Sheesh. Good times, huh? Great start to the tour, Robb.
  19. Gut wrenching Ride....Poster.
  20. ^Ooooooo pretty. Too bad, the only time we'll get to see the night lighting package is during the PNE, itself. Playland usually closes around 6-7 pm once it gets into it's daily schedule. And that would actually be a really cool thing to do, opening hours into the evening for at least a couple of the days in the park's schedule, especially when open daily in the summer, before they close down for the PNE additions. How about that suggestion, Playland? Stay open Fridays and/or Saturdays until say, 10 pm? (And open later, say around noon instead of 10am those days, to compensate for the extra hours?) Seeing the park more like this, from time to time, and other than the PNE schedule, would be really nice!
  21. eddytheviper recently posted a great Trip Report to TDS, and included this nice photo (to me) of a "Dry Aquatopia" in plain view. This immediately made me think of what the upcoming rehab of Luigi's Tires Attraction could go like, if trackless technology was used, "as rumored." Looking at this, all you'd have to do is change the ride cars to "Cars" cars, add stop signs, lights, landscaping all around with crazy traffic line patterns, etc. And they could run the exact same circuits too, as Aquatopia runs. It would be like Mr.Toad's Wild Ride ...without Toad, lol. And the rock work is already there for a "Cars" redo at Luigi's! (Great photo, Thanks eddytheviper!)
  22. And just cause I noticed it... one of the photos you shot, eddytheviper, reminded me of an upcoming rehab that "might" include trackless technology...that being Luigi's Tires Attraction in DCA. There was rumors of a possible trackless layover, and this sort of "Aquatopia on land" you can see... well, all you have to do is replace those rides cars AS "Cars." Fill in with stop lights and signs and crazy route lines and markers - with two track circuits, like in this one, this side (it's double-sided over there in TDS). Now imagine this as in behind Luigi's Tires at DCA. Possible? Could happen. (o;
  23. What was the Haunted House like? Did you get a chance do go through it? I will go through anything resembling a HH at any park, so this intrigues me. Even if I have absolutely No Idea what the heck the house is all about, LOL.
  24. Something "retro" found. It's a page from some Japanese/English magazine describing Tokyo Disneyland, two years after it's 1983 opening. It actually looks like a version of what the original Disneyland "could have" looked like, back in 1955! You also notice that Fantasyland was way smaller than either Tomorrowland or Westernland. And actually about the same size as Adventureland. But the locals (now) want more of their fantasy. So now (finally), the park is starting to catch up. And trading some "Tomorrow" for more "Once Upon A Time." Parking right up at the front gate, too! Back then.
