  1. Me and David, taken at the Blue Lagoon Restaurant in Disneyland Paris. September 24, 2015 - our final day of the 2 week trip. Without flash. (o; Toasting another great visit to DLPR ~ and Amsterdam and Paris ~ our 4th time!
  2. 9/10 Trackless vehicle rides.
  3. Sept.10/15 - We Arrive in Amsterdam - and Find an Awesome Burger! After the flight, it was easy to get to town, with an excellent train system from Schipol Airport. That done, we headed over to our hotel, The ANCO, for five nights' stay, and then walked around town, to get ourselves re-aquainted with Amsterdam (it had been 8 years since our last visit), and to be on the look out for interesting and favourite eateries. We were not disappointed.... Yes! We want the whole enchilada! Uh....Experience! (o; Not exactly what I considered a Dutch Experience. This was in the train station. And.... it's a franchise, too! We find our hotel, and get our fave room of every visit there. Room #22. Canal View. Which not only gives us a great view of Amsterdam's oldest church, Oude Kirk, but also a view of Amsterdam's oldest....profession. The legendary Red Light District. David is happy we got room #22...again. And it looks like it's been renovated (for the better) too. A local boat ties up. And that's the Amsterdam City Flag there, with the 3 X's on it? I always thought it was an odd looking flag, but hey - it's theirs and they fly it. And our First Canal Tour Boat seen, goes by. There will be thousands to come. Bridge between hotel buildings. Offers a bit of a balcony view of what locals do with their backspace behind the main streets. Really beautiful to see it in person. Our first night out, we find a JACKPOT of flavour, right here! With the reflection of myself taking the pic, ha! The set up is pretty cool to watch, how they put the burgers all together. We got a little table right by the open front door. The weather was so nice, it was fine by us. Our first view of really serious fries! And not frozen, but fresh cut, too. Not the only place with one of these, but our first impression was....we were impressed! (o: Oops. Got so into the meal, I totally forgot to photograph what we got, before devouring it! No matter. Next times. (o; And since we saw huge amounts of fries coming with each burger (it's all a la carte including more exotic condiments, etc.), we diecided to split one order of fries, and one drink. It worked beautifully for us. and by the time our last visit happened, the locals who worked there, knew our add-on order (the fries and drink) from sight, heh. That was cool. After a great meal, now we're off to find a drinking establishment, to our liking. We passed some really great architecture on the way to... The Queen's Head. I remember it from past visits, and we both enjoyed it for our after-meal drinks. I think she's crying, because the Disco Balls are getting more attention. I mean, a few of them spin too! We're fed and happy. One beer and then we headed back to the hotel. A dark kind of canal boat. Not sure, but it looks like it's rented out for groups, etc. Saw this, by the hotel. Hope it's a peel off, if the marriage doesn't work out. Good night!
  4. Over in Paris last month. At a yearly carnival we found via the Eiffel Tower! Nice sweet taste to it. So much so, I had another! Sept.19-2015
  5. I'm going to make the attempt to actually go this year, regardless of the weather. I chickened out last fall. But - I can easily buy tix online, once I know what the weather will be, in advance, give or take an overcast sky or so. Hoping for at least overcast skies. And if I go, I'm going on one of these evenings, 15th (Thurs) or 21st (Wed). I'll see, soon enough.
  6. So did Mariott's Great America in Santa Clara AND (non-SixFlags) Magic Mountain, back in the 1970s! And I rode them both, back then. A bit of a wait between unloading-loading and changing wheels, but worth the ride and the experience itself. Not a great shot, but this is a shot of MM from Sept. 1975. In the very upper left corner of the pic, you can make out their Sky Wheel - double one, unlike the triples at Great Americas, etc. And the cleared land in the bottom right, was for the upcoming REVOLUTION coaster, bowing in 1976. (o;
  7. ^ No....and probably not. Wow, how did we ever miss those? I know how. We were so overwhelmed with Burger Bar and the great service, fries, burgers, condiments.... it was hard to not try anything else. So, we didn't, LOL! Maybe next visit, there. This pretty much sealed the deal for us. (o;
  8. ^^ My photos of the site from my tour there, last month (to post in my TR) are going to look so lame, lol. Oh well, the dirt freeks will go crazy with what I got for them. The thing looks like it's coming along well. Could it be another mystery coaster, like Phantasialand's, hmm? Or not.
  9. Still love my rock-o-plane. And the original caterpillar. And what I called the Salt'n'Pepper shakers. Good old Rock-O. Salt and Peppah.
  10. ^ Hey, that's cool about another rainbow tunnel! Hmmmm... With all my fanaticism about the number "3", this sounds like a perfect reason to check it out eventually, and make up my "Rainbow Transport Triade" of sorts. O'Hare was my first (and only one of those), and my second one turned up in..... Japan, in Parque Espana ~ the wondrous Musical Escalator Ride? Me, Adam and Mark with the AMAZING Musical Escalator Ride, in Parque Espana. The TPR 2007 Japan Tour.
  11. This. In Tid Bits, NOT Fillets. And so much better than what I had in Amsterdam, last month.
  12. I just went to an annual Carnival setup in Paris last month, and spent nearly $30 Cdn, just to ride the two coasters, and the two dark rides. Didn't take long to spend that much. I still had a great time, and a new found beer I enjoyed (twice), so I`d spend that much again, easy. So, would you pay 5 Euros to ride this? I did.
  13. My RANT Quote...
  14. I cannot for the life of me, understand, that of all the millions and millions of people who would love to have a one-on-one with Pope Francis.....why Kim Davis? I think this was a set up for obvious controversy and armchair support/rage. Seriously, why invite her? For right now, I think they should fly Chris Mintz over to the Vatican and get his own personal one-on-one with Francis. Once he heals up and can walk better again. But not her.
  15. Vegetable
  16. Stay With Me Sam Smith
  17. Three words.
  18. Just this. Rainbow Cake!
  19. I ran into a pair of these, earlier this afternoon, when I was shopping (and eating out) on our shopping island, Granville Island. So I got both, since one of them had a "hands up" in the back row. Only two were available, so I bought them both. (o: And the one on the right, has a "hands up" in back.
