  2. Good to know they're on top of this .... .... Right?
  3. Here's what I posted in the "Say Something Random" thread earlier, that caused me to think, and then start up The BREAD Thread! And ....... I did it! This was Bread #1. Hmmm.....
  4. I'm here.

    I'm queer.

    And I'm old.

    Get used to it.  🍹

  5. Well, after baking my second loaf of plain white bread in a dutch oven, I decided that others out there must have been "baking during these times." The sourdough stories I have read were amazing! But it wasn't until these past few weeks, that I finally decided to get in with the crowd, and get some dough rising, lol! And I starting out with this really easy recipe plan (to be revealed) that is just a-ma-zing! So, in a few days, I will post my results on three loaves of white bread I created and baked. And "not always according to the recipe" etc. And please add your fave or brand new recipes and results, with photos if possible! Not bad, for Bread #2.
  6. ^ Wellll ..... my first loaf had not 'risen' enough, but was still awesome to eat. (And I froze 1/2 of the loaf, as I will for all three "plain white" breads I create and bake. To "compare.") My second loaf (today) was bigger, and way more 'spongy' than I like. But it did pay to whisk all the dry ingredients together, before adding the water. Also, I put 1/4 cup more water than usual (1-1/2cups) and the dough was "hard to control," as far as reshaping it for a second rise. And most importantly, this is not a bread to allow overnight rising. I let too many hours go by (12+), when it should have been only 6-8 hours' rising time, as recommended. But still, a great loaf to eat. Tuesday, I am going to now start it in the morning, and end up baking Bread #3 in late afternoon. Which is probably for the best. Stay tuned for The Big Finish! (And I will have photos to show the differences between the 3 loafs, etc. And I may start The BREAD Thread! here, since I cannot be The Only One who has been baking up loaves during these times, yes? No?)
  7. Gavin MacLeod, who starred as Murray in "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" (tv) ...... Always heckling news announcer Ted. Then getting trounced by Sue Ann Nivens {Betty White} ...... And as the original Capt. Stubing on "The Love Boat." He was 90.
  8. ^ I dunno, but your "drink plan" just made me laugh.
  9. It reminds me of the "town" that was built in Power Park, Finland. It was a set for a fantasy movie. TPR 2014 Scandi Tour.
  10. ^^ Maybe you should fit in an afternoon at Famous Dave's BBQ? Unless you already planned for it.
  11. Stay at Breakers. Enjoy all the perks of it. Including the Surf Lounge. And get the FL pass for the day you know will be f-ed up with lines. (For Bert and myself, it was the Saturday of the 2017 CoasterMANIA! weekend.) Easy!
  12. Been awhile for this one. TPR 2013 Japan Tour.
  13. ^ There was an article in one of the daily papers today, about the "new situation" with the PNE and Playland. The Province has started a program to re-open more public spaces, as the % of Covid vaccines (1st dose) goes up, and the reported cases goes down. Hopefully. It looks like they will be working on a new version of the PNE (not the drive thru version, like last year), which obviously allows for less people to attend, distancing measures, some mask wearing (I hope), etc. It also mentioned that Playland was (still) supposed to re-open in mid-June. Probably like the same way they handled it last year. Or not. Everything will be revealed. Eventually. Here's the full article about it: https://vancouversun.com/news/covid-19-the-fair-at-the-pne-could-be-a-go-this-year-organizers I hope a lot of the Playland Staff will be back, being awesome as always. Photo is from PNE/Playland.
  14. Bert and friends eat at a spot they always get to, when in Atlanta. It's called The Vortex, and I couldn't resist posting this Massive Burger they offer! Got friends to share? (o: Photo by bert425.
  15. I am curious. Why did they pick "orange and green" for the two colours of the trains? Anybody know? Not really that important, but I was still wondering... By the way, awesome test shots!
  16. ^ Don't worry. Forgot to add, that the book won't be available until the Fall. So get a copy for her, for Christmas! (And although I haven't checked, you can probably pre-order it thru Amazon, etc.)
  17. This photo came with a totally un-related article. But .... still fun to look at. "Philadelphia's Kinetic Sculpture Derby has a lot of personality." Photo by Charles Mostoller / Reuters.
  18. For now ..... Ridden in 1995 ~ (then called) T2 in Kentucky Kingdom ~ First SLC of it's kind in North America. Ridden in 2008 ~ El Condor in (now called) Walibi Holland ~ First SLC Of It's Kind. Ever. Way back when. Ouch. Twice. BONUS POINT: Most everyone's ridden this one: (1959 debut) DL's Matterhorn Bobsleds. First Tubular Steel coaster in the World. Looking great for it's age! Photo taken 2016, from the Monorail. And I got to ride it with my mom, when I was ten years old! (1963) She freeked of course, LOL. And IMhO ...... Left Side > Right side.
  19. Hope this announcement is one that stays true.... Broadway's Biggest Night Is On! The 74th Annual Tony Awards Sets September Date. https://www.broadway.com/buzz/200111/broadways-biggest-night-is-on-the-74th-annual-tony-awards-sets-september-date/ ..... And it's on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 26th. CBS.
  20. This is getting somewhat frustrating to find out but..... PNE/Playland just posted this.... The thing to note is that they're not opening at the end of this week. New tickets issued will (currently) start with Friday June 11 (evening), and continue with weekends from there. So ... I just got myself (still free as a 2020 Pass Holder) tickets for the weekend of June 12-13. Hopefully, these dates and time won't change .... again. Photo from PNE/Playland
  21. Honestly, it was a Real Surprise to those who had been to CM! before. CP had never offered Wilderness Run before, during past CM! weekends. So of course, those who knew we had a chance to ride the thing, went for it, LOL. And some shamefully failed....
