  1. A couple of recently-taken photos of ongoing construction of Fantasy Springs, in DisneySea. They were taken, from above... Right now, stuff on the ground is a jumble of metal and "chicken wire" sculpting. Interesting how everything in DL looks, from here. Mainly showing the Peter Pan attraction show building. And to it's left, TinkerBell's Ride and a themed eating spot. Thank you to Sunmz, who took these shots.
  2. "Take It Easy" The Eagles
  3. I think the color combo on the coaster train is great! Most times, I see (whatever sized) new coaster trains with mainly the front of them, themed. Nothing wrong with that. But this is great, especially for the kids riding it.
  4. ^ ....Which makes me ask ... has Knott's ever released an LP and/or CD, etc. of it's park music, etc? Just curious, besides what BB asked. (I have a good sized collection of retro ViewMaster Reels, including a few of Knott's. But that's another thread, lol.)
  5. "Little Bones" Tragically Hip
  6. ^Awesome start to your DLPR part of the tour, Bert! A quick ask: where was your room located in the Sequoia Lodge? Last time we were there (2015), we stayed there, with the so-called "park view" that turned into a very limited-view of really neither park, lol. We hope to return in a few years or so. And are definitely wanting to stay at the Lodge, but maybe with the "garden view". The whole hotel was great, with access to the indoor pool, etc. And the Hunters Grill Restaurant there, was our fave of a lot of the 'buffet spots' everywhere (at that time). Looking forward to more of your visit there.
  7. Great you're heading to DW. It has one of the earliest forms of MAD HOUSE attraction in the world. Do try it out if it's operating during your visit. Looks so cool, when you can actually see it turning!
  8. "Hot Tonight" Tokyo Police Club
  9. A restaurant in New Jersey just announced, that no one under the age of 10 will be allowed in there. I totally agree with this policy. Good for them. I have been to many restaurants (a few of them upscale) in town, only to have to deal with screaming children, kids running around the place, and just generally being un-supervised by their parents. It's disgusting to have this happen around one or two people just wanting to enjoy their meal. Our pizza place across the street from us is an easy example of how it's (now) a horrible noise level, when children (and especially babies in strollers) are brought to the place. In the summer, on the outdoor street patio, you can hear them screaming on and on. It's awful. That said, any parent who bitches about this new rule, well, they just aren't being responsible parents, and are forcing the rest of the restaurant to put up with a child's antics. And it's only one f-ing restaurant, people. Thousands more places are available to disrupt with your under age kids, ha ha. IMhO. p.s. I do realize that there are a lot of TPR people out there with young children and they are behaved and responsible at parks and restaurants. Thanks guys! However, this RANT is to all those parents who don't give a flying fck, when it comes to their children and responsible behavior in public places ......... And probably won't read this, anyway. p.p.s. And about children, in general? I love them! Especially with a nice bernaise sauce on top.
  10. The designs for San Fransokyo Square look great! Especially how they've re-done the bridge, there. Hope to eventually get back to DLR and see all this.
  11. ^ Just because they're probably REALLY TRYING to get it running on it's National Day.... I'll put $100 on it actually opening on July 25, 2023. I mean, it's just a "what if" bet right ?.... Right? ....... RIGHT???
  12. Raquel Welch just passed away, at age 82. Apart from all the movies and television she did, she actually did some Broadway turns, too. She replaced Lauren Bacall in "Woman of The Year" (which I got to see her in, in October of 1982), and replacing Julie Andrews, in the stage version of "Victor/Victoria", later on. RIP Raquel. You are/were "One in A Million (Years BC)" Raquel and "the boys" in "Woman of The Year", 1981-82.
  13. Totally forgot this photo of me! After "riding the Rat," we had to take this <shudders> old looking rusting metal staircase, upstairs to the outside Exit from the (then) Rat Ride .... with dripping/running water in the middle of it. Yuck, indeed. Thanks to whoever shared that "experience" with me, for taking the photo. I owe ya. And I did NOT want to get hit with any of that water. 2006 UK Tour.
  14. ^ Thanks, from up in Canada! I double checked it all, and for the USA... "National Pizza With Everything (Except Anchovies) Day" ~ Nov.12/23 I kid you not. But any way - Every Day should be PIZZA DAY, right??? (p.s. Those pizzas look AWESOME by the way.)
  15. Burt Bacharach, just passed away, at age 94. He was a big part of my life, musically. From the Broadway musical "Promises,Promises" (based on the film "The Apartment."); his soundtrack to "Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid;" launching Dionne Warwick's career... and on and on.
  16. Just heard about this historical 'event' on the radio ..... "The Toronto Clown Riot of 1855."
  17. RIP Barry. Miss you and your unique way of saying things, And your cards! I should have suspected, something had happened when the cards stopped coming after April's "May The Fourth" card arrived.

May you find your own personal Dutch Wonderland to enjoy forever and ever.

  18. "In the World of FROZEN...." Disney has now released a new video 'tour', with a drone circulating through (most of) Arendelle, still in construction. It doesn't show much of the Sliding Sleighs coaster, but the close up on Elsa's ice castle is really cool. Oops. Forgot to add this second video, of an AA Elsa singing those immortal lyrics. Looks like there will no face 'mapping' on this one, lol. Enjoy them both.
  19. Another month, another coaster..... Pindsvinet Fårup Sommerland (Blokhus, Nordjylland, Denmark) TPR 2014 Scandinavian Tour Nerds.
  20. Melinda Dillon, who was Mother Parker in "A Christmas Story"... just passed away at age 83. But let's not forget her Oscar nominated turns in "Close Encounters of The Third Kind," and "Absence of Malice". A great actress.
  21. We got a dusting of snow, today. No big deal. I had decided NOT to go out for lunch today. So staying warm and toasty inside right now .... yum. And we have plenty of food here to last through one evening, lol. Stella's not choosing to go out, even if it means staying on the front porch, watching the proverbial world go by. Smart cat. She has her fave places to curl up on or in. 😼

  22. I'm going to play the "Age Before Beauty" card. No, Me first!
  23. David's and my original travel plans were to drive down to California in September ..... of 2001. Needless to say, the plans had to change, and we ended up doing a road trip to Alberta, visiting both Calgary and Edmonton. Glad we did, and I was especially proud of myself, for talking David into riding Mindbender with me. RIP MB
  24. I got to visit Astroworld once, Columbus Day Weekend, 1992. The Batman:The Eascape standup was "the newbie" in the park. Long lines, but worth it to ride. And riding Excalibur and XLR8, too. All great coasters. But, I have no memory of that Sleigh/Mountain ride, back then. Possibly/probably removed for something else, I guess. Would have to see an old map to find out. And those two guitars up there? Bet there's a story with those, too. The posters look great, where you put them, Bert! (And, for the record... Google lists Batman as Opening in 1993. But I know I rode it in the fall of '92. Maybe that was it's "Soft Opening" period. Compared to how it's done, nowadays.)
  25. Although we're not really big fans of Will Arnett hosting it, LEGO MASTERS is a really enjoyable (to us) competition on TV. Especially since the last season, they allowed a few Canadian pairs into the contest. Good for them! Looking forward to another season of it. And in one of the past seasons there has been a coaster created, depending on the challenge. One of the Canadian couples, from the recent competition.
