  1. Totally forgot this photo of me! After "riding the Rat," we had to take this <shudders> old looking rusting metal staircase, upstairs to the outside Exit from the (then) Rat Ride .... with dripping/running water in the middle of it. Yuck, indeed. Thanks to whoever shared that "experience" with me, for taking the photo. I owe ya. And I did NOT want to get hit with any of that water. 2006 UK Tour.
  2. ^ Thanks, from up in Canada! I double checked it all, and for the USA... "National Pizza With Everything (Except Anchovies) Day" ~ Nov.12/23 I kid you not. But any way - Every Day should be PIZZA DAY, right??? (p.s. Those pizzas look AWESOME by the way.)
  3. Burt Bacharach, just passed away, at age 94. He was a big part of my life, musically. From the Broadway musical "Promises,Promises" (based on the film "The Apartment."); his soundtrack to "Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid;" launching Dionne Warwick's career... and on and on.
  4. Just heard about this historical 'event' on the radio ..... "The Toronto Clown Riot of 1855."
  5. RIP Barry. Miss you and your unique way of saying things, And your cards! I should have suspected, something had happened when the cards stopped coming after April's "May The Fourth" card arrived.

May you find your own personal Dutch Wonderland to enjoy forever and ever.

  6. "In the World of FROZEN...." Disney has now released a new video 'tour', with a drone circulating through (most of) Arendelle, still in construction. It doesn't show much of the Sliding Sleighs coaster, but the close up on Elsa's ice castle is really cool. Oops. Forgot to add this second video, of an AA Elsa singing those immortal lyrics. Looks like there will no face 'mapping' on this one, lol. Enjoy them both.
  7. Another month, another coaster..... Pindsvinet Fårup Sommerland (Blokhus, Nordjylland, Denmark) TPR 2014 Scandinavian Tour Nerds.
  8. Melinda Dillon, who was Mother Parker in "A Christmas Story"... just passed away at age 83. But let's not forget her Oscar nominated turns in "Close Encounters of The Third Kind," and "Absence of Malice". A great actress.
  9. We got a dusting of snow, today. No big deal. I had decided NOT to go out for lunch today. So staying warm and toasty inside right now .... yum. And we have plenty of food here to last through one evening, lol. Stella's not choosing to go out, even if it means staying on the front porch, watching the proverbial world go by. Smart cat. She has her fave places to curl up on or in. 😼

  10. I'm going to play the "Age Before Beauty" card. No, Me first!
  11. David's and my original travel plans were to drive down to California in September ..... of 2001. Needless to say, the plans had to change, and we ended up doing a road trip to Alberta, visiting both Calgary and Edmonton. Glad we did, and I was especially proud of myself, for talking David into riding Mindbender with me. RIP MB
  12. I got to visit Astroworld once, Columbus Day Weekend, 1992. The Batman:The Eascape standup was "the newbie" in the park. Long lines, but worth it to ride. And riding Excalibur and XLR8, too. All great coasters. But, I have no memory of that Sleigh/Mountain ride, back then. Possibly/probably removed for something else, I guess. Would have to see an old map to find out. And those two guitars up there? Bet there's a story with those, too. The posters look great, where you put them, Bert! (And, for the record... Google lists Batman as Opening in 1993. But I know I rode it in the fall of '92. Maybe that was it's "Soft Opening" period. Compared to how it's done, nowadays.)
  13. Although we're not really big fans of Will Arnett hosting it, LEGO MASTERS is a really enjoyable (to us) competition on TV. Especially since the last season, they allowed a few Canadian pairs into the contest. Good for them! Looking forward to another season of it. And in one of the past seasons there has been a coaster created, depending on the challenge. One of the Canadian couples, from the recent competition.
  14. "This House" Lauren Ward from the Tim Minchin Brdwy musical "Matilda"
  15. ^ Awesome find, Bert! Very nice.
  16. "Nothing Fades Like The Light" Orville Peck
  17. A new video has been posted by Disney and it is a simulated look at "Arendelle: World of Frozen" including, at the 47 second mark, Oaken's Sliding Sleighs "in action". It's a quick simulation, but it gives you a bit of an idea of it's run. And this is an overhead shot of (mainly) the Castle, but you can see Arendelle in back. And on the left of it, there is still space to put something else! Between Arendelle and Toy Story land. Perfect! Thanks to Alex2077 for this great shot. And in the "LOOK WHAT I FOUND" Dept. - I took another look at the video, and two spots in it, caught my curious attention. At 00:27 there is a "door" with Frozen-like design around it. Then at 01:17 one sees the door frame lit up, bottom right corner of the screen. Could this be the (official) entry for the Slidin' Sleighs' Coaster attraction? And the building in front (to it's left) is obviously Oaken's Shop, which will be the exit way of the attraction (the Gift Shop). Looks like it, to me.
  18. ^ Who knows? I think there are some traveling ones, so it's possible it may come back during the annual PNE fair, only. By the way, I am pretty positive, that I must have ridden that Booster in Power Park, at least ..... 5 times?!! In an evening's and an early daytime's visit there. But Revelation, here? I think I do/did it once-every-three-years. If that. And it was an Upcharge, so at least $10-15 spent for one ride, at the time. Same goes for The Drop. I rode one, finally, in Mexico (thanks Selva Magica!). Great cheap price ($5?), too. Other TPRers on Selva Magica's Drop. TPR 2013 Mexico Tour. Once was enough for myself, thanks.
  19. ^ That's what Revelation is... uh, was. But it was also an Extra Charge to ride. Same as Drop Zone. I though they could put both of them somewhere else in the park, but I guess they decided to take them out, altogether. The smaller Booster (see above) I rode in Power Park (Finland) was awesome and felt much faster with a smaller circumference to run. And it was included in their Day Pass.
  20. Think ~ Aretha Franklin
  21. War Face ~ Lowell
  22. As I am always interested in the foods and beverages Disney comes up with, for events, seasons, celebrations, etc. And I always find the Asian parks' offerings, the most interesting ones to check up on. So when HKDL was announcing their Lunar New year celebration (Jan.13-Feb.12, roughly) they also, naturally, included a nice list (w/pix) of New Year's Foods available through the park. But this one.... uh .....caught my attention. "Outdoor Food Carts (Available Jan. 13 through Feb. 12) Golden Salted Eggs Flavored Popcorn (New)" ...... Yum? Also, that popcorn 'bucket' looks interesting.
  23. ^ I wondered if those two 'rides' were going to stay. Apparently not. Thanks for the update. I do wish they would have replaced Revelation with a smaller length (height?) kind of ride. Like the one I rode in Power Park, Finland. Can be included with the Playland Pass, and not be counted as an "Extra Charge." Oh well. Stay tuned till 2024. Power Park, TPR 2014 Scandi Tour.
  24. These are (were?) available at Walmart I read, and from Amazon.com ...... Yummy. Hot. Sugary. Hot. Cinnamon. HOT.
