  1. Shun the non-believer! Getting rid of V2 will dramatically change the front gate area. I think it's awesome to be waiting at the front and have screaming riders flying above you. It has been down for extended periods of time, but I'm hoping there were other reasons behind that than unfixable problems with the coaster. Also, I'd like to see them add rides rather than remove any. Crossing fingers. We shall see.
  2. Yes! Pretty much every time I sneeze. Do you have a CF Platinum Pass?
  3. A teaser was posted to Twitter! Captain Lee standing in front of V2 asking a magic 8 ball what we're getting in 2018 and it answers that it will be a ride and "make us scream." Hmmm.... some sort of rehaul of V2? V2 needs some love but I can't imagine what they might do that's marketable for 2018 unless they're trying to do VR. Reallyyyy hoping it doesn't mean V2 is getting taken out. Tweet
  4. Yes! Do you think you will get to ride Steel Vengeance next year?
  5. It's that time of year again... time to book Sandusky hotels for Labor Day weekend! Now I know people have asked about hotels a ton of times, including myself. We really should have a post somewhere that keeps this information together so it doesn't need to be asked again for people like me who can't remember all the advice, but since we don't, I need advice again. I'm looking for something near CP, breakfast preferred, indoor pool is a plus, preferably less than $100 a night but not too dirty or awful. So far, the motels I've found that seem alright are Quality Inn Huron, Days Inn Milan, and Motel 6 Huron (which I think was the one people said was pretty good?) Have any of you stayed at these before and can give advice on these or another suggestion? Also, what sites do you prefer to book from? I remember someone saying he booked Breakers for a really cheap rate at some site but I can't remember which one it was.
  6. I'm surprised no one has mentioned 2017 Haunt yet. Looks like there will be two new mazes, Backwoods and Chaos House. Returning: CornSTALKERS, Madame Marie, Roadkill Roadhouse, Toy Factory, Wax Museum, and Zombie High. Scare zones are FearyTales, Jester Town, and Underworld Alley. I believe the first two are new? The most interesting one to me is Demon Reignited I never rode it with these effects before, but this is great news for Haunt!
  7. CGA was passed up for a long time, with coasters being removed and the fate of the park unknown. Now, they've added GoldStriker 2013, Patriot conversion 2017, and Railblazer for 2018. Maybe MiA's time will come yet?
  8. Beast at KI the Friday before last. They took almost an hour to reopen after they closed for the 10:00 fireworks, so we got to have a true night ride by the time we finally got on it!
  9. Looks like Snapchat. Why would they be teasing 2019 already, though? Maybe just trolling?
  10. A little birdy told me Corkscrew is open now You mean me on the last page? ... I'm confused Yeah, evidently both trains were empty because they were trying to transfer the white train off of the track. They sent the red one around and it never stopped and bumped the white train. I don't know much about transferring trains on an old Arrow but a lot of the ride ops (on another message board which is generally a cesspool but a few of those guys know what they're talking about) are saying that when you do that you need to set or release the safety brakes manually and evidently someone f*cked up and didn't do that. That happened Sunday night and the ride had been closed ever since. Dang, I'm glad there was no one on the ride when this happened or we would have a much bigger problem!
  11. How do you know? Also, agreed that FoF at KD is much, much smoother than FoF at KI. Also, as far as Arrow loopers go, I enjoyed Anaconda more than Vortex.
  12. Just a one time deal! The train leaves the station and right out onto the drop. I'm standing where the track will eventually go! Totally cool that they did this, it really puts into perspective the magnitude of the ride. To answer the spinning question, when the cars spin too fast and magnet/fin combination will keep them in check. Sort of like how they slow a train now, but only they applied it to the rotation of the ride. Via the ride designer. Thanks for the great photos, chadster! This might be a dumb question but it's hard for me to tell from the photos... is that entire windowed portion just temporary, or will some of it remain after they install track? Like will the windows open for the ride to pass through?
  13. This is absolutely perfect for Knott's! I love it! The color scheme and lighting package look brilliant and should definitely liven up that area so much in day and night!
  14. As a writer/editor I just wanted to point out some humor I found in the wording of the video. "10 story 90º vertical drop straight down!" 90º drop = vertical = straight down. "Gravity-driven drop!" As opposed to a drop that isn't gravity-driven?? Okay, enough of me being an a$$. I still like the video. Also, when I showed the video to my boyfriend, he was concerned with how much the cars spin in the rendering. I told him it's just the rendering and they shouldn't spin nearly like that in reality.
  15. Best predictions for Steel Vengeance that had me before the announcement had me And the winner goes to:
  16. We'll have three RMCs in the state of California by the time this opens, and who knows what Knott's is going to announce yet. EDIT: Also, of note that SFDK was the first to add the first Sky Rocket II, which has now been cloned several more times, but S:UF still remains as popular as ever.
  17. What a relief! Those flyers are my favorite behind the Knoebel's flyers. Now I just won't have to traverse the kiddie section to get to them.
  18. I love the rock work! Who cares if it's a clone? It looks like it's going to be a great ride and fit in really well at the park, and it'll be unlike anything else in the state. Congrats, CGA!
  19. WOW! I haven't followed this project as closely as others but I was NOT expecting it to be a spinning coaster! This looks like it could have some awesome and weird forces on it! I've never been to SDC, but I'm definitely going to make it a priority next year!
  20. I like the similarity in plotline and name to Mystic Timbers! However, I don't see any mention of a shed, so how will we be introduced to the "thing" in the fields? Looks like a great coaster and I'll definitely try to plan another KD trip next year!
  21. You have to have known this was coming. But holy amazeballs. Steel Vengeance looks AMAZING. All that airtime! I'm definitely going to CP on opening day of this ride. I don't care how long I have to wait, it'll be worth it!
  22. ^^Unless you're like me and go to bed late and don't wake up until around noon, in which case the "later" East Coast announcement is still perfect timing. #latetobedlatetorise While it was sometimes frustrating going through this off-season living off of the "leaked" photos and wondering about this ride, I'm actually really glad CP decided to do it this way. CP has built up our anticipation for months with tomorrow... the climax. Cheers, everyone! In a way, it's going to be weird finding out the actual stats and layout after watching this ride unfold slowly before our eyes.
  23. I live in a small college town so I'm hoping that when the students return for the school year, so will more PoGo players who will participate in raids. I'm getting nervous that I'll miss my chance at getting the birds entirely, though, since I'm also relying on legendary raids spawning when I'm nearby and free. Reading all of this makes me think I need to be a lot more proactive.
  24. Technically it's the same amount of waiting.
