  1. I was wondering the same thing, looking at those photos. That was one of the better Haunt mazes at CP last year.
  2. When it's super hot or super cold, yes, but in general, no. Have you ever been on a cruise?
  3. Whenever I have to get up at a certain time, I try, but last night I'm pretty sure I stayed up past 4 just drunk Facebook and TPR-ing... Do you still play Pokemon Go?
  4. There was an Articuno and a Lugia in neighboring gyms while I was on break at work. I doubted I would have had enough help to take it down if I did leave.
  5. I may have missed something, but who here intends on entering the Mean Streak contest? Only 4 sentences is big pressure, but I think I can do it.
  6. Was probably Georgia Cyclone before the weather got too bad to get rerides on anything better. RIP, will not miss it!
  7. Yes, Do you ever go on TPR when you're drunk?
  8. Great teaser photo. Expedition Everest relocation: confirmed! Also, if it is to be an RMC named "Railblazer," that teaser photo is pretty much a dead giveaway. So either they don't care that much if they give it away, or they're having a ball in throwing us off.
  9. ^I feel you there, especially if there is a long line. I generally don't ask for the front (since I prefer the back usually anyways) or I'll say "Can we sit towards the front?" If I'm a single rider, I'll look for rows with other single riders closest to the row I want to sit in, and then request that row. Also, when there is no single rider line on coasters (which is most) and I get off and notice another single rider, I will walk up to that person and ask them directly if they are riding alone (for seats of two) or if they are a group of three (for seats 4-across). I don't think I've ever had anyone say "no" unless I miscalculated and there actually was someone else going for that row. I've been able to get multiple rerides on both Fury and I305 doing it this way, even rerides in the front. It's like, is the possibility of rejection really that big a deal that you'd pass up a front-row ride on Fury without having to wait again??
  10. I LOVE Switchfoot!! I would die if I got to ride a coaster with them! So cool. Did you see them perform? I'll be hopefully visiting SFSTl soon so it was great to read your report.
  11. Thanks for the photos! I was also curious about the straight track/MCBR section but now looking at it with completed track, I just don't see it being a launch anymore. It would add unnecessary problems. Is there anyone who still thinks there will be a launch? Hey, I thought they did a great job with Mystic Timbers. Cedar Point is their flagship and this ride is going to be HUGE (literally and figuratively), so why not splurge a little for theming? But hey, not complaining if they don't. Most of us are going to run past all of it anyway to try and be the first in line.
  12. PLEASE let there be another spooky shed in Candy Apple Grove (Or do they just call it "The Grove?) I really want there to be a shed. With...windows? I enjoyed Mystic Timbers teasers a bit too much...
  13. I just went and liked all of your Twitter posts! LOVE the photos and can't wait to see what else you might have for us.
  14. This is great news! I'm glad I got to ride it for my first and last time recently, but it will not be missed at all whenever I visit the park again (probably next year!) 2018 is really shaping up to be a stellar year for coasters, esp. in the Cedar Fair chain. With GA Cyclone, Six Flags will add their contribution to the mix.
  15. Great trip report! This is definitely a park I want to visit whenever I get the chance to travel overseas. It looks beautiful, and I am intrigued and confused with Kärnan's indoor portion. Thanks for the pictures!
  16. Nope, you can renew a platinum from any park to any park... HOWEVER... you are then 'locked' into that park for any extras you buy online for that season. For example, if you want the drink pass, or the funpix pass, you must purchase it from the park you renewed your pass at. So the last two years I had a Canada's Wonderland pass (because they charge the same price in CAD as USD for platinum!) but at the end of last season I renewed as a Cedar Point pass (wanted the free fast lane perk for Cedar Point) and even though it has Wonderland plastered all over the pass, it is actually a Cedar Point pass. The funpix and drink pass were cheaper at Wonderland, but the card is now a Cedar Point pass and I needed to buy extras at the Cedar Point prices. Next year I'll switch back to Wonderland, because I'm sure it will save me a lot of money in the long run (especially with all the new fanciness going in at CP). There was no need to go to the park you renewed at first to process, as both renewals allowed you to add a photo online and you just used your old card. So even though I now had a Cedar Point pass, I still visited Wonderland first as there was nothing to process. Make sense? I originally bought mine at CGA last year and this year renewed at Cedar Point, bought funpix at KD where they traded out my CGA labeled platinum for a KD labeled pass, and I believe I bought my drink pass at Cedar Point later. I bought those add-ons in person so I'm not sure if it's different online but I never once ran into the problem of "sorry, you'll have to purchase this at a different park."
  17. THIS. I was not a fan of Mystic Timbers for the name but now it somehow feels perfect. I sometimes feel coasters "grow into" their names.
  18. Thanks for the quick response! Glad I wasn't just trippin about not seeing the single rider lines but sucks that they're not really helpful. Thank you for all the row preference suggestions! How rough are Blue Hawk and Scorcher and where is the best place to sit to minimize roughness? I think I will take you up on the river rapids suggestion soon. It's f$&king hot and I was starting to feel dizzy. I rode back row of Goliath and while the airtime was fun and the layout cool, it was vibrating like hell! The guy next to me said it's not usually that rough, but with the affects of heat I was feeling, I decided to postpone the potentially rougher coasters until I can recover.
  19. It looks like it's been a bit since anyone posted in this thread, so I'm hoping people see this before the end of the day. Which rides actually have single rider lines? Because the map says all the coasters have them but I didn't see one at DDD and now Mind Bender says they don't either. Also, if anyone happens to be here today, send me a PM. Tips for rows to ride and whatnot? I saw someone just said Cyclone in 11. I'll also keep my eyes out for markings. Also, if anyone cares I just single handedly fought and won my first raid battle.
  20. I hear it's all the rage these days. Honestly, it's been long enough of Gwazi sitting there and them cannibalizing who knows how much of its wood, does an RMC conversion even make sense anymore? I have faith in RMC if they were contracted that they would get it up to par and make an awesome conversion, but the structure certainly must not be as sound as it used to. Seems like too much work and money to get it fixed up. I'm not holding onto Gwazi ever seeing riders again.
  21. Oh man, it was AWFUL. One and done. I can handle rough/bad coasters pretty well but Vortex is definitely up there with the worst coasters I've ever ridden. CGA Vortex was awful and this one is too. I haven't ridden Patriot yet, but a conversion cannot make it worse than it already is. #teamconvertit Cyclone hurt too but not nearly as bad. It was boring along with Goldrusher and Hurler. As of now, I really have no desire to ride anything again except Fury, Intimidator, Afterburn, the Flyers, and maybeee Nighthawk. When I got done with the PoS known as Vortex, Fury was down for a bit because an employee was under the ride doing something, so I left to take lunch/hotel break. How I feel about Vortex So much pain. This one is great!
  22. Thanks for the advice, everyone! Park is pretty dead so it looks like I'll get plenty of rerides on whatever I'd like, plus maybe time to go eat at my hotel room. Rode Fury 7 times during passholder ERT, and OMG I see why it's gotten so much attention. I got some pretty strong airtime in the front in the second half of the ride, and better laterals at the beginning toward the back. Not sure which row I like better. So far I rode Nighthawk/Stealth, then Intimidator, Woodstock (I actually like these), and just got off Flyers (you're right, I'll have to ride this one again. I love these things!) I'll probably skip the mouse, Boomerang, and other kids coasters. I'm intrigued by notoriously bad coasters so I'm preparing myself for Vortex, Hurler, and the Arrow. Speaking of bad, can we talk about Nighthawk? I thought I'd love it since I love Firehawk and this one has a great location, but it hurt. Maybe it's because I got put in the back? Thinking of trying again in the front. Edit: Afterburn was AMAZING!! Rode it 5 times and it ripped my face off. I might need a break.
  23. Someone who has been to the park recently told me they have already started construction of walls around Sand Serpent. Any confirmation or pictures?
  24. After an 8-hour drive from Ohio, I made it to my hotel by the park, and had some bomb-a$$ Mexican food from a restaurant near my hotel. I've never been to Carowinds before, and I'm so looking forward to going tomorrow. Any advice for a first-timer? Also, anyone going to the park tomorrow who would like to meet up? Send me a PM!
  25. Just made it to my hotel by a certain North Carolinan park on my way down south. Thank you all for the responses! Thank you so much for the advice! I really appreciate it given that you guys are busy with your own trip. I really like the idea of watching the fireworks from the Polynesian Resort beach. I also didn't know they did the same fireworks show on the 3rd. It sounds like we should skip Disney on the 4th for one of our non-WDW days. That is a possibility for us.
