  1. I'm glad it looks like its finally gone up. I saw the first couple pictures the other day but not the most recent one. If someone visits the park, I'd love to see more. Is is noticable from the freeway?
  2. ^^Fast lane itself doesn't annoy me, what annoys me is when the employees continually let in the fast lane people to ride, and don't stagger the fast lane/non fast lane people. Particularly I remember Mirror Mirror at CGA (which you already have to wait longer for, due to the way the maze works) took especially long because they would immediately let in every Fright Lane person who walked up and then could barely let in just a few average folk before they had to close it up and wait through the cycle. Also, they always let the Fright Lane people in first, so by the time I made it in the regular line, the maze cycle had already been running for a few minutes and I didn't have very much time to spend inside before they rushed us out. Later, I went and bought Fright Lane and did the maze again, and we got to experience the other side of things -- no wait at all, and a very very long time spent inside. I think they should have staggered it a lot more than they did, because it basically meant the non-Fright Lane people couldn't experience the maze very fully despite waiting 30-60 minutes.
  3. I loved how rickety that coaster felt. I jokingly told people it was, "Scarier than Sheikra."
  4. ^I'm curious to see how sales of that merchandise will go. I'm not a huge sports fan, but I know others feel very strongly about sports. Unless people from the Chicago area show up, I really don't know who would want to buy it.
  5. ^How long do those stay up? Just opening weekend? And do they change the name on the maps as well? I wonder if there will be new people to the park that think that's its actual name.
  6. Yes, S:UF at SFDK! Do you have pets?
  7. Unless you're an indoor coaster/dark ride enthusiast, weather plays a huge part in this hobby. You can say that again! I was supposed to have been to KI with my kids and ridden Mystic Timbers two different times by now, but ended up passing both times due to weather! Still don't know what's in the dang shed! Wow your patience to not visit the KI thread or watch any "shed spoilers" is impeccable! I could spoil it for you right now but I won't Yeah, I've debated whether it's really worth not reading about the rest of the ride experience, since I don't honestly expect the "shed reveal" to be all that much of anything. However, so far, I've successfully avoided the KI thread, and all Youtube videos. I'm now targeting the day after Memorial Day for our KI trip, so hopefully I can hold out that much longer, and hopefully the dang weather cooperates! And yes, thanks for not spoiling it here now! DId you like the rest of the coaster at least? (And apologies for talking about a KI coaster in the CP thread, but hey, there's always people talking about weather, and boats, and just about everything other than CP coasters in here anyway, so why not?) So true Hey if you made it this long, mind as well hold out a bit longer! I waited a very long time for the ride each of the three times (so far) and loved it. I think you and your family will love it too! But don't just take my word, gotta get out there and try it. "Whatever you do, DON'T GO IN THE SHED!"
  8. Yes. Do you prefer to write with a pen (rather than pencil or other)?
  9. 18 years ago .... (JK, today) When was the last time you ate dessert after dinner?
  10. I'm planning on visiting the park for the first time ever next weekend, food and wine will only sweeten the trip even more
  11. I must say, you sure like to plan ahead! Looking at hotels over a year in advance? Seems like there could be very different prices when the date gets closer.

  13. No, but I do have a respect for heights (i.e. getting nervous if I'm in a situation where I could fall and get really hurt, such as stringing Christmas lights on the edge of my two-story house). Are you afraid of spiders?
  14. AMAZING report!! Thank you so much for putting it together! I'm visiting this summer with my Mom and this just made me very excited to see this land. Everything looks incredible with the attention to detail. The food looks good, the rides sound great. I can't imagine this land not being a huge win with the public.
  15. Thanks for the TR! I got to visit this park in 2007 but we only spent a very short amount of time, and with it being their winter, Golden Loop was closed and I believe ToT was SBNO at the time. I loved Anaconda and the scenery of that coaster is one of the best I've ever seen. I'd love to go back!
  16. In January at the hotel by Thirsty Pony at CP When was the last time you had a really good dream you wished was real?
  17. I see, but isn't it a tad early for that? At Keys to the Kingdom he said they would be announcing 2018-2019 plans in April, unless it came too close to derby, as was mentioned.
  18. Probably the day before last. Made use of the sales and got some but now I'm out When was the last time you saw a shooting star?
  19. I listen to a public radio station streaming off my phone every day (its based in CA). Otherwise, not by choice I was in the car and my boyfriend was listening to a station just the other day. When was the last time you were late for work?
  20. Last January, I took the GRE. When was the last time you took a nap?
  21. Not sure when it was in this thread but I'm pretty sure I forgot to ask you a Yes or No game question recently and you just let it go When was the last time you ordered a piece of meat cooked rare?
  22. Yes. Was doing well in quitting and then grad school hit... Have you been the driver in a car accident where you were at fault?
  23. As of now, 4 hours for Mystic Timbers opening weekend (on two of the three times I rode it). I'm one of those people who like going to ride openings if I can, plus I didn't want the shed spoiled for me. I probably will never wait that long for it again, but it was still a memorable time for me and I don't regret doing it. Also, everyone was saying it would be a 6 hour wait if I didn't ride it when I did, which didn't end up being the case at all. You win some, you lose some.
  24. What about a less intense Hyper GTX? Due to its low height and lack of inversions (At least on Lightning Run), it seems like it would be a good ride both kids and adults would enjoy, and its height restriction is only 48 inches. That could possibly work, but I was thinking even smaller, something like FireChaser but not as long. They could probably theme it pretty well if they wanted to.
  25. ^Thanks for the history! It's been a while since I read it but I read it by choice in high school and it still is one of the best books I've ever read. I still own a pair of velcro shoes given to us from when we toured Cave of the Winds at Niagara, if that counts? I only occasionally wore them to the river and they may be broken now...
