  1. I had the same problem with the parking when I first visited. The GPS took me to the wrong gate. Great TR, especially the dick rock photos I'm glad you enjoyed Storm Chaser. Your description of T3 was perfect. I've been on two other SLCs that are not nearly as bad as T3, but I also don't have the confidence to say, "You should give other SLCs a try!" You're not really missing much if you never ride another.
  2. How did you like Mystic TImbers? And the shed? I definitely gained a new appreciation for Bat after riding Iron Dragon the other day. ID just felt very slow and boring, at least when we rode it, but Bat is always FLYING through the course! Just wish it was longer...
  3. Why they gotta keep saying "they... They... They're... They?!?!" Like, WHO DA F**K IS THEY?!. And what da f**k is in the shed?! Running off a good marketing strategy? Also, those photos are great. I was just waiting for the telephoto lense photos. I took iPhone photos but I definitely couldn't zoom (or see) far enough to catch those angles. Great job! (And sorry about your camera)
  4. ^^That's really interesting, thanks for sharing.
  5. I don't know about stupid, but definitely unpleasant! I ate a whole ball of wasabi for $40 and it was disgusting. I also ate a bite of a burger for $20, which wouldn't be a big deal except I had already been vegetarian for several years by then (and still am). Do you often book hotels more than a month out when you plan a trip?
  6. Yes. Do you take regular medications?
  7. We visited the park on Monday, and I really don't have pictures to post because we were too busy having fun. We rode Legend and Raven twice each, Voyage 4 times, Thunderbird twice (once in front and back and once on each wing), Mammoth twice, Wildebeest, and ZOOmbabe. The park wasn't insanely crowded, but the water slides took a long time. We didn't get to really explore Holiday World too much or even go into a couple of the themed areas. People who say Holiday World is a quick in and out park either go on a very light day or skip the waterpark entirely. Both water coasters were by far the best water attractions either of us ever experienced. Mammoth gets you SOAKED. My bf said it was his favorite because he's been on a lot of waterslides that don't actually deliver in the wet department. We probably waited at least an hour for it in the regular line, but part of that time it was broken down and we were watching staff running around and taking rafts off, evac'ing people from the lift hill, then sending them back up. I loved both but I think I liked Wildebeest a bit better, besides the slower moving line and frustration that they weren't completely filling most of the rafts despite at least a 40 minute wait. Is this common? All three wooden coasters were a BLAST. I did not feel roughness on any of the three (including Voyage) and we rode every coaster in the front and back. I couldn't help but think that the people saying Voyage is too rough are just p*ssies (sorry not sorry?) or rode it before any retracking. I really liked Voyage and it was super fun!! Really did feel like riding a ship through a storm. I'd definitely say it's a top 5 woodie for me now, but I wouldn't rank it above Lightning Rod or El Toro. My one and only complaint about all three wooden coasters are in relation to the seats. I wouldn't consider myself super "fluffy" but I have relatively thick thighs, and when I sat down, the restraints would pinch me down between the seat dividers and the edge of the lapbar in such a way to pinch my thighs during the entire ride and make the extreme laterals really uncomfortable. It was even worse if the employee (or the coaster) stapled me. I could see it giving me bruises if I were marathoning the rides. I'm the type to not care that much about painful thighs (Skyrush is my favorite steel coaster), but this side-pinching was uncomfortable. I've been on coasters with divided seats and I don't remember ever feeling pinched before. I'm not sure how people with even thicker thighs feel about these seats. Thunderbird was fun and I agree it's not as good as Gatekeeper, but better than WIld Eagle. Not sure if I'd rank X-Flight or Thunderbird higher. The one negative part of the day was my boyfriend losing his keys. By the time he realized they were gone, we had already ridden Legend, Voyage, Thunderbird, and both water coasters. We put in a report and had to wait it out after dark in the parking lot for the tow truck driver to tow us back to Louisville. However, the park called back the next day and said they found the keys! I have no idea which ride he lost them on, and I'm really curious, but I'm glad they found them so quickly!
  8. The park looks absolutely outstanding! I'm not really a big water park person but THIS is a park I'd definitely want to visit as soon as they work out these issues! I was at a water park this weekend reflecting on the fact that for me, the worst part about being at a water park is waiting in a slow-moving waterslide line in the sun, barefoot, in a bathing suit, and getting too hot or too cold and completely drying off before then getting plunged into cold water to experience the 30-second slide and going through the process again for the next one. Being able to wait for a slide while relaxing in the water or in the sun somewhere else seems like a great idea in theory, but it sounds like the Tapu Tapu system has not achieved this at all, and actually made things worse. I would definitely not be happy having to wait for one slide (unable to wait for any others) and then having to wait again when I get there. If this works out to eliminate the "unpleasantries" of water park waits, I'll be completely onboard. Until then, I'll hold off on visiting the park.
  9. How about both. That's what we got during Coasterstock ERT. It was a lot more fun when the rain let up and our faces were spared but the track was still pretty wet.
  10. Twisted Twins ----> Storm Chaser iron horse was wood with steel structure, now all steel I believe. If they can do that, they should be able to do topper track. We forgot/didn't realize the park was over an hour back in time zone difference, so we're here over an hour early and taking a Subway break.
  11. Do you think there's a risk of people on the ride dropping things on the people walking below?
  12. Yes, Splashing Safari at Holiday World tomorrow! Have you seen the movie "Blank Check?"
  13. You guys are making me excited for my trip tomorrow! We were going to go today, but the forecast looked better for tomorrow. This may seem like a dumb question to a lot of you, but I'm still fairly new to the whole smartphone thing. If I buy tickets online, do they have to be printed to get into the park or can I get in by just my smartphone? I've never done it that way before
  14. Well that narrows it down It's also safe to say it will happen in the second half of the year but before the final quarter, or otherwise some other time.
  15. I believe he said he rode in the back car. When we rode in the 2nd to back or even third to back, it wasn't too bad. The very last row was very uncomfortable and rough for us. I told my bf we shouldn't sit in a wheel seat, but he insisted we sit in the very back, and now he has learned his lesson.
  16. The entrance plaza looks amazing. Has anyone ridden the ride yet?
  17. Yes, same sentiment you have about the Boomerangs. Have you purchased a Fast Pass at any park this year?
  18. It's more that I don't want to be forced to wear a bathing suit into the park. I'll probably end up wearing athletic shorts and underarmor type top (which dries quickly) or a rash guard and have a change in the car as well if it doesn't dry quickly.
  19. It was in the Ask Alvey forum. I saw it too and was dying.
  20. Yes! Holiday World! Do you work somewhere that stays open on Memorial Day?
  21. Question: is there a dress code/restrictions for riding the water slides? Like if I go to the park in "normal clothing," could I pop over and ride some of the slides without changing? I'm specifically interested in the water coasters but any other slides that would allow this I am interested in as well! Also, is there a way to get paired with people on the raft slides if you go to the park alone?
  22. I'm actually planning on visiting HW for the first time this weekend too, your acclaim of it makes me more excited! Also, I don't think there are any shed spoilers, but when you finally get to ride it, pop on over to the KI thread and look at my Coasterstock report. I have a picture of the mythical tall thing from the Haunt maze Blackout that you didn't see (and didn't believe me). Now there's proof Coasterstock last weekend made me even more excited for CoasterMania! I've never been to that event before either, but any ERT at CP sounds awesome, as well as the cruise and whatever else I forgot. While spending two days at CP would be pretty sweet, I'm a bit relieved it's only one day. Two days of Coasterstock with <5 hours sleep +16 hours on our feet at the park was killer. I definitely need to get new shoes for this summer and get used to standing and walking for long periods of time again. Still haven't booked our hotels either. While staying at Breakers sounds really nice, I can't afford it at this stage in my life. A quick search says it's at $300 a night for the weekend and we need at least two nights. Also really hope they do some kind of surprise New Mean Streak tour or photo op or something for us, but besides the cruise and whatever we would usually be able to see, it seems doubtful and I'm not holding my breath. Fun game: place bets on how long into the event you can go before someone starts talking about Mean Streak. Bonus if it's during Q&A.
  23. Hopefully Holiday World this weekend, my first time ever at the park!
  24. ^More for you? Thanks for the input, guys! These things always end up taking me a long time to put together so I'm glad when people actually read and enjoy them. Loved the report and thanks for doing it. I actually really like your reports because you tend to skip the nerdtalk and hit us with just the fun stuff. Ha! That's always my goal. I usually skip over reports that have a lot of nerdtalk so I definitely don't want to be that person!
  25. Yes! Do you post photo TRs when you visit parks?
