^ Haha, yeah. ^^ Yeah, all those bands like L.D. Bell and The Woodlands... I'd kill to be in one of those Texas bands! What school do you go to?

PTR: Brent's TR's - 2009 TPR Scandinavia Tour
FitchCoaster replied to downunder's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
This made me smile after reading that, whether you meant to do that or not. Hahaha. Anyways, Loved the photos! Great TR. It looks like a great park with a nice balance between coasters and atmosphere. Makes me want to visit this park even more. Something I think is really awesome is the "One train operating at this time" sign. I didn't know Hershey did that. That's something that would come to great use in every park. I can't count the number of times I've waited in a line, only to be stuck in an hour wait after later realizing that only one train is running. -
I've seen some posts on the forums regarding some people being in marching band, so I know I'm not the only one here on TPR in band. Which led me to posting this topic. I wanted to know who's exatcly in marching band and how many band/coaster nerds there are on TPR. I've been in marching band in middle school all three years, and now I'm a junior (11th grade) in high school and still in marching band. I play alto saxophone for jazz/concert/marching band and cymbals/bass drum for winter drumline. Our band received 7th place of 10 this year out of our division and last year we were state champions in our division. Here's a video from our show this year, called "Polovtsian Dances": Here's the rest of our videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/TitanThunderRegiment So, anyone here currently a 'band geek', or have been one in the past?

I saw Watchmen opening night, and it was amazing in every single way. I also agree about the ending, though. I didn't think the fact the the ending was different from the novel made it worse, but the fact that everything seemed so rushed. I thought the new ending still stuck to the book's themes, and it actually fit very well into the story. I just didn't like how rushed everything was at the end (which is really bizarre because the movie was 3 hours long, haha). I hope more of the ending will be in the director's cut! Overall Watchmen was an amazing movie and it stayed very true to the graphic novel. Honestly though, I think someone who has read the novel prior to seeing the movie will enjoy it a lot more than people who haven't. In fact, a lot of people coming out of the theater who didn't read the novel made remarks about the movie being confusing and 'too-long'. From a Watchmen-nerd's standpoint, I give it a 9.5/10.

For a past coaster, I'd take Tsunami/Zonga/Texas Tornado/Thriller. I was at SFDK awhile ago (before it was SFDK) and pretty much rode everything, and decided to skip Zonga because we were running out of time. I really wanted to ride it but I kind of shrugged it off because I thought that I'd be able to ride it next time I visited. Little did I know it would be torn down before the next visit. I've always wanted to ride it, it looks so intense. Also, I've always wanted Disneyland Anaheim's Space Mountain somewhere in my backyard. It's so re-rideable and you can't deny, the music is awesome! It never gets old.

The "Say Something Random" Thread

^ I love all marching bands. Reason being I'm in a marching band. Speaking of marching band, I am not feeling like 3-hour drumline practice tomorrow. I really want some chocolate ice cream. -
What a shame, the park looks so beautiful upon first glance! And the rides there look awesome. In fact out of all of the castles in the Disney parks, Disneyland Paris' castle is my favorite. This is so strange to see, every time I've seen construction in a Disney park, it's been blocked by construction walls so it's not visible to the guests. Here, it's just out for everyone to see. It just seems very un-Disney to me. Sorry to hear that your visit was less-than-average. Great TR though, I enjoyed the pictures a lot!

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

^ LOL, I've seriously thought about that before. I wouldn't even doubt it if that's what they were up to. -

I constantly get these kinds of things from my friends. One of my friends was telling our group of friends while in line for Space Mountain that one lady stood up in the middle of the ride because her lap bar was loose, and that her head got chopped off. The same friend tried to convince me that the cars on S:TE once flew off the track, so they don't let it go up all the way anymore. I don't even try and argue that it's not possible, as they always argue that I am wrong. Besides, it's somewhat entertaining to hear these stories. What I want to know is why when these rumors are created, it always has to include a person's limb being lost. -
Nice find! I haven't seen footage of that backyard coaster yet, looks cool. Looks like it's a pain to get the car back to the starting point, since from the looks of it, you have to push it all the way back. I also want to know what the heck that was at 4:49 on the first video. I've seen it on an old roller coaster VHS I have, but they never really said anything about it. Whatever it is, it looks interesting. Thanks for posting these videos!

I agree, it's freakin' annoying how bi-polar the weather has been lately! It's been sunny for the past few days so let's hope it stays that way... Another thing that annoys me if the fact that I have 3-4 days worth of makeup work I have to do for school. Which is partially my fault, but it's irritating that it's pretty much a lose-lose situation for me. If I stay up and do all of the work, I'll end up going to sleep late and not able to function at school. If I put it off for another day, the work is going to keep piling up. ...yet I'm on TPR procrastinating by typing about how irritating I think this is. A time machine that could freeze the time would come in handy right now.

I'm in the school marching band and this was coming back from a tournament. All the alto saxophones rode in one car on the way back to the school after the tournament, we were all pretty bored and we happened to have a video camera with us. The video is called "Meat-Field" because we call one of our friends 'Meatloaf' and while editing the video, it reminded me of Cloverfield. It may not be as funny to you guys because a lot of it is inside jokes, but I think minus the in-jokes, it's still pretty funny.

I doubt not having a Tony Hawk's Big Spin at SFMM would convince guests to go to SFDK. Most of my friends don't have a clue that there are other Six Flags parks around the country... to them, SFMM is the only Six Flags park in existence. I think a Tony Hawk coaster would be a great addition, but in my opinion I don't think it's going to happen. I think the park needs more flat rides... every time I visit it seems that I'm constantly on a roller coaster. A drop tower would be nice, also.

Disneyland Resort PTR - March 25th
FitchCoaster replied to gotdane's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Looks like you guys had a great time! I loved the photos from the Club 33 balconies, mostly because it's from an angle that I've really never sen before. The food at Club 33 looks delicious, the pictures are making me all hungry! Sure looks like it beats any of the other places to eat in Disneyland. Is Club 33 mainly just a restaurant? Or are there other things in it? Oh! I was at the park yesterday and I happened to be in front of you guys in line for Big Thunder Mountain, and a few rows up from you guys on the train. I had the green shirt on if you remember. I was debating whether or not to say hello or something. Obviously I didn't, hahaha. So... "hello!" -
What are some loud rides and coasters?
FitchCoaster replied to JFrombaugh's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree with whoever said the lifts on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Took a ride on it today, and the "clank"'s the lift made echoed through the caves, which just made it louder. Still, it's nothing compared to S:TE. I have noise-canceling earbuds for my iPod and I have no problem blasting music at nearly full volume. S:TE however, I find it hard to not cover my ears walking under it while it's running. -
