The Mega Dead Celebrity Thread

^ Yeah, its a pretty tough loss for DFW. The man was the "Peoples D.J." around here. I bawled my eyes out. We went to the studio and took flowers and paid our resepcts. I have been listening to him for a good part of 20 years. My drives to work will never be the same as I would listen to the morning show on my way into work. Quite an amazing man, not for just the celebrity dj he was for us but what he did for the terminally ill kids. He was kind of like his own Make a Wish for them. Taking 50 familes a year to Disney World. (Kidds Kids) He passed away doing what he loved, playing golf and raising money for his charity. He is gonna be sorely missed. It takes a special man to impact the lives of so many people. People he never met face to face. Many of us feel like we lost a family member. He always ended his morning show with.." Keep looking up, cause thats where it all is." -
Its just a double edged sword isn't it? Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Try and protect someone and then it turns into a discrimination thing. We here all know full the well the risks overweight riders have. We also know how sue happy this greedy country is too. I'm a fatty, i'll be the first to admit that, as much as it would hurt to take the walk of shame it would just give me more incentive for me to shed that weight, its my fault i'm fat, not the parks, coaster/train manufactures. I take responibilty for my own actions, but we know many people want to play the blame game.

I have to say that some form of communication is neccesary for most people. We cruised Oasis in Dec 2011, I switched my phone off but purchased then internet package for my Ipad. I have disabaled mom at home it was imperative that I keep some form of contact with her..email, facebook. I had someone kind of keeping an eye out on her but I still needed to keep in touch. I did enjoy no phone and texts tho. Very peaceful.

I came across "Waze". It is a traffic app. This is one of my most used apps. Basically it is people around your location that send traffic notifications in and around your location. You can also send the notification. Drivers helping other drivers. Police, accidents, heavy traffic, road hazards. It will voice alert you if you are approaching an accident within a few miles of the route you are traveling on. My work schedule puts me in the heart of rush hour morning and evening. My drive is 35 miles plus each way. It has been extremely helpful. It has helped me avoid heavy traffic, accidents. It gives me time to find an alternate route.

Ugh I agree. I can't stand Joe Buck. He is a douche. It was a very boring series. I like a full seven games. As much as I hate my Rangers and the two strikes twice drama last year and us losing the series at least it made it exciting. -
^ Gotham City is closed every HIP. They must start rehab on that side of the park. I am not sure why JRS was closed. I thought they always had it open that time of year. I am really going to miss the huge red XMas tree they would put up every year. It would hang down from the parachutes. It makes me curious if they will find another way to put it up.

I don't recall having one on a coaster but one particular flat ride I will not ride anymore. The Topscan. Years ago at the State Fair of Texas I thought it looked so fun...a tad bit intimidating too. I am short and a plump ass so I have a hard time getting into rides or coasters with the hanging seats. First off the operator fumbled with my seat a bit, I should have gotten off then. As the ride started I some how got really lopsided in the seat. One leg hanging down farther than the other. I got stuck that way the entire ride cycle, and slipped more and more the faster it went.Needless to say I was terrified and it was an extreme white knuckle ride for me. Years later I attempted to conquer my fear of it. It did not go to well. Needless to say as fun as it looks, now I just sit back and watch.

I'm just freaked out by the size of that spider, OMG!! Fast, tall, roller coasters don't scare me, as for a spider, I'll run for the hills. -
I think at some point we all covet the coasters at other parks. I would love to have Griffon close to me, I305, Tatsu. I have ridden the costers at SFoT so much I am bored with them, so I am the one of the first ones on board for wanting a new coaster. I honesty would love to see them get rid of Adventure Theater. There would be a nice little chunk of space for something fun and compact. I do however appreciate the things they have done (NTAG). I look forward to what the future holds for this park.

Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens for ECB this weekend. -
I'm getting very excited.I will be flying in early on Friday and out late on Monday. I am looking forward to seeing one of my childhood friends I haven't seen in 22 years. I know the two day event will be long, but now after doing WCB for numerous years I know what to expect. I know I will carry some 5 hour energy with me . I think the coaster I am looking forward to most is Griffon. I will be my 1st dive coaster.

I typically don't get intimidated with to many rides or coasters, one exception is a skycoaster type ride made by Mondial, called Caprialo. I rode it back at the State Fair of Texas a few years back. Just the look of it turned my palms sweaty and my heart racing. I managed to conquer it. I can still watch the videos on Youtube and I still get that feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Amazing water slides
cedarpointfangirl replied to FLIPDUDE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can remember seeing that looping water slide. If I'm not mistaken I was getting ready to start my freshman year in high school summer of 91?? I never saw it run that day. I came across this interesting article about it. That was an interesting park. I can just remember thinking how insanely cold the water was. thecenteroftheaction.blogspot.com/2007/04/ride-that-spawned-thousand-legends.html
