  1. This is the same basic problem we've seen with the vekoma & B&M flyers using dual stations....Batwing hardly ever uses both platforms simply because it takes twice the staff to run if they did it that way.
  2. That's almost always how I design my entrance plaza's,granted my buildings don't look anywhere near as good as yours. I really like how you've laid out the buildings in the midway containing the giga/mega lite but as has been mentioned the "half" buildings should either be removed or at least connected with a roof to give it a tunnel appearance.
  3. I remember reading somewhere that there was some glitch/bug with the timing of the catchcar that Silverwood worked out which was causing all the downtime. Not sure if that's true or not. IIRC all 3 SF units had that problem but hopefully it's something that can be fixed so more parks will buy these models...I wouldn't mind seeing one at KD as they need a shuttle coaster ever since KK's removal in 87.
  4. Really like that ticket booth/entry plaza design,I've gotta use that in my parks as well.
  5. What about Michigan Adventure? They seem to have the same issue. Michigan's Adventure got a roller coaster a couple years ago. Granted, it was an SLC, but still... I think they were comparing CGA's uncertain future with SFAW's uncertain future that led to its closing. I'm pretty sure MiA has no intentions or possibility of closing in the near future. SFAW had a future but SFI preferred to play the "let's give rides to MM,GRADV & GRAM" card instead of investing there.I don't foresee CGA closing anytime soon,it's just that CF's hands are tied when it comes to new rides & if it weren't for the neighbors complaining they probably would've,and should've gotten that woodie last year.
  6. Most travel channel shows seem to be all about food....that's all they show now a days is that man vs food crap all day long.
  7. Lines weren't too bad on my last visit,305 had a near empty queue but the same couldn't be said for Dominator with only two trains going...I had to skip backlot because the line was out to the midway & ricochet has been packed lately too.
  8. This park requires no expansion packs. Also, the trolley supports are gray, not green. It looks green in the picture but they are gray to help blend in with the tarmac. One of the roofs in your screens look similar to the art deco themed ones found in TT,I just need to find my TT disk so I can install it & gain the added rides & scenery for some of my own projects as well as downloading all of the custom flats that I lost from my old PC.
  9. Excellent use of the giga track as a scenery object for your flat spin arches....I'm impressed with the shopfront scenery as well.
  10. In wanting to keep with the rules of the actual park you may want to change the max height of the design since in reality the park only has a maximum of 200ft to work with as far as rides go.
  11. Nice use of the TT scenery in that first screen,I so need to find where I put my TT disc so I can install it on my system arghh.
  12. Yeah I heard about it through FB this morning & WHY am I not suprised?Sure the rehab on S:TE is just turning a car around to run in reverse but still that takes money...money that would've been better off being invested in one of the other parks like SFA that havn't seen any new thrill rides for the teen/adult market in quite some time. I'd like to see the park be sold to an operator that would invest in it but SFI won't consider that as if they did sell to another park operator & said operator made the needed investments to improve the park it would become a threat to SFGRADV.SFI can get away with giving the park the shaft year after year because they simply market SFGRADV with their season pass promotions. Prior to SFI running the park Premiere parks had to keep investing in Adventure world (as SFA was then known) because SFGRADV was a rival park in the regional market along with HP,KD & BGW but now that SFI owns both parks they no longer need to invest in the Maryland facility when they can make more of a profit off of SFGRADV.
  13. Yeah, what would I know. I only worked at this park on several rides and saw people get written up because they hit the e stop when they didn't necessarily have to... I guess using your rules it's time to mark Knotts off the list of "legitimate park policies." I think we all are. There wasn't time in this instance to activate the "normal" method of stopping the ride, and there wasn't time to evacuate riders. The train was coming backwards down the launch track and it was a decsision that would have to be made in seconds. Unless the brakes on the launch went completely out causing this accident, an E-Stop would have closed the calipers and stopped the train before it got to the station. Maybe an op did hit the e-stop, we don't know. But if they did and the train STILL didn't stop on the launch track, there's a flaw in the safety systems of the ride that may be more serious than just proxy sensors not activating the brakes. True but don't the brakes close only when the air pressure is removed from the calipers? It requires pressure to open the brakes,in this case for launch.
  14. From POV footage of KI's ride it appears to be exactly identical to KD's & CWL's. I havn't played RCT3 in ages so can someone post a pic of the drifting coaster? I know what the splitting coaster looks like from the game though.
  15. Anyone recall the incident in 99 in NJ where the anti rollbacks on that wild mouse failed & two people were killed?
  16. Well that's not what it said on screen when I went there.
  17. Have you got any other links to DL that bench? I tried at NE but it's giving me a 404 error on each link & I don't want to have to go the rapidshare route as that costs money.Perhaps you can PM me a copy of it ASAP?
  18. Looks good, what EP's are required? & if I DL it will it automatically import the CS into my object data folder?
  19. Funny how KD had 305 open in the rain back in july...I rode it that day & it didn't hurt half as much as riding ROS at SFA in the rain ten years ago.
  20. Gotta wonder what it feels like taking a zero-g roll or flatspin at only 2 MPH. LOL
  21. I wouldn't recommend downloading custom scenery stuff for RCT3,I did that on my old PC & somehow screwed something up making my game unplayable...now that I have a new computer I have reinstalled RCT3 but won't be downloading any custom stuff for it again.
  22. They probably use it for Talon...of course Hydra probably has it's own maintenance ball as well.
  23. As I was walking over to Dominator while at KD yesterday I took note of the infamous B&M ball just sitting in it's usual spot on the storage track & got to wondering just how it is that they can run that thing through the station & up the lift? Sure they can back it up onto the brakerun & do the inspections starting from there & working backwards along the circuit but then another question arises....just how are they even able to operate the ball with the brake calipers in the way? We've all seen that clip on the project extreme episode playing in the queue where they show the ball in operation starting at the base of the loop but has anyone ever seen it in operation while at a park? Just curious I suppose.
  24. ^They don't have to be "amazing" or big additions, the fact that KD made them while SFA has taken more of that same time period off is the major difference....the last true thrill ride that SFA added that wasn't a waterpark addition was PBR back in 03.I just don't see this park surviving much longer without a new influx of major rides. The last time I visited was in summer,07 but when the announcement was made for THHP as the new for 08 waterpark attraction that's when I'd had enough of waiting for things to happen,I'd still like to see the park make a change for the better & begin adding new rides again,as do a lot of people(I read their posts on the SFA FB page daily) then I may consider buying a pseason pass again but until the folks at corporate figure out that a large part of the problem with this park is a lack of new attractions & get off of this SFMM,SFGRADV,SFGRAM kick that they've been stuck in for the good part of the past decade then things aren't going to improve & my chances of coming back are next to none.
  25. Good point, but all parks lose rides. Also, does anyone realize how many rides at Six Flags America get little to no ridership on an average summer day that would demand a queue at almost any other park? I seriously can't believe how such a large park can stay operating, with such low attendance and so many rides that cost __ dollars to operate a piece. ^I agree with that point. In the summer I live 50 minutes from SFA (and three hours from SFGAd) and I have visited SFGAd more in the past 3 years than I have visited SFA. That being said I am not a "normal" enthusiast that visits their local park 15 times a year. I couldn't stand visiting any place much more than twice a year....but anyway my money is easily going to SFGAd, and I am a "local." Yeah but ten or eleven years ago the park was much busier than now...simply put, when the new rides stopped coming so did the people especially when they had KD to go to as an alternate choice & they were busy adding new rides on a yearly basis.
