  1. Yeah those parks have lost more rides than SFA, but they have also gained more rides then SFA. SFA loses rides with no replacements. Which would you rather have; a park that loses rides without replacements, or a park that loses rides but replaces them... Case in point:Iron eagle. The park could've replaced it with a new flat, which wouldn't have been too costly but what did they replace it with? a stage of all things!!!SFA doesn't compete with GRADV,both parks are part of the same corporate chain so how can they compete with one another?granted when the park was Adventure World it was in competition with SFGRADV but hasn't been in such a competition ever since the company that once owned AW bought SF from time warner in 98.
  2. Yea, pretty much, until The attendence of the park justifies a major addition. Six Flags is a major company, their main focus is to make money. And how do they make money? With attendence of course! So, logically, parks that have higher attendence (Magic Mountain, Great Adventure, etc.) have a tendancy to get new rides more often. SFA got the addition of Thomas Town this year which is a step in the right direction. So, if the attendence keeps improving, than fairly soon a major addition will be placed in the park! But, it's up to you and the rest of the GP to give Six Flags Inc. a reason to expan the park. True but they need to give me a reason to return to the park in order for that to happen and,as I mentioned in a recent email to SFI it's not gonna happen by adding attractions only to the waterpark or adding new kiddie rides to the themepark sections once every three years or so.The last major ride the park recieved was PBR some seven years ago & the last coaster they added was going on 10 years ago.People have noticed the lack of new additions to the park along with the removal of the precious few rides they had to begin with that were mainly installed duringthe AW era & attendance has fallen off as a result. If SFI says the reason for not adding a major ride such as even a small coaster like a spinner to the park is due to their declining attendance then they're at an impass of their own making as without major new ride additions the park's attendance levels will continue to decline as a result. How do they expect to grow attendance without a new major ride to bring people into the park?
  3. Since I've got a bowling tournament to attend on sunday morning I may have to leave the park earlier than I usually do on saturday night.
  4. I hear ya & after years of defending the park I've had it with the place.I havn't visited since 07 & don't plan to unless some major investments are made to at least bring the park more in line with the other SF properties, but we know that's not gonna happen.
  5. I agree,KD's haunt is many times better....plus their ride lineup outdoes SFA's any day.
  6. Thanks,so it'll work with my current setup of RCT2/TT.
  7. Nice, what EP's are required? I hope WW isn't one of them as I don't have that one.
  8. Kinda ranks right up there with the fire last year at SFA,sure it managed to burn down a whole building when there was some perfectly good tinder nearby(Roar) that it left completely unscathed.
  9. What is "BG"? I can't figure out what ride model or park it's in going on just that acronym.
  10. Funny thing about all these grey outs everyone seems to be having on I305.I've ridden the ride several times this season both pre & post trims & didn't grey out once.
  11. How have vekoma's woodies held out so far? I know there are only two or at the most three of them right now but was just wondering what everyone's experiences & take is on these particular models?
  12. Just a few more weeks till haunt begins,is anyone else going on october 2nd?
  13. One of the major problems vekoma has had has been operational reliability in their new designs, namely the GIB's & flying dutchman models so that's primarily what scared SF out of buying them. The flying dutchman for instance has up to 84 sensors on each train just to monitor the restraint system alone.
  14. Not exactly Steve. It's primarilly due to the way the seating assembly is mounted to the chassis. Take a close look at any SLC running the course & you'll see the seats shaking from side to side, this is because vekoma mounted the center post loosely with the dampers on either side to keep the seats level but even with this the seats still have a bit of a swing/sway to them.Vekoma couldn't get around B&M's patent on the inverted coaster so they had to use a suspended seating assembly instead of a more rigid one.
  15. And genuine replacement parts are also likely to be scarce. Such as? I mean other than the trains & perhaps the control system(if it weren't updated) there isn't all that much difference in terms of the structural makeup of the ride.
  16. What scenery set did you use? Custom or in game? I han't played RCT2 or NL in ages.
  17. Nope,KD built KK in 77 as a prototype then sold it off in 86 to a park in OC Maryland, who in turn sold it to AT & finally it was sold to the park in Brazil.
  18. Yeah, they've been using that terminology since switching the north side to forward running trains.
  19. Wasn't there a show on nat geo that featured footage from the B&M plant in Ohio? I agree that it would be neat if they'd show more of the actual manufacturing process in future documentaries, not just the construction footage.
  20. I guess they just wanted to have one red,one blue running on each side when in single train mode. The park has always run one of each color on both tracks for years.
  21. Which side of RY did either of you ride? I thought both sides have been running rather smoothly this year compared to how bad it was just a couple seasons ago.
  22. I second that. Not only was the first turn bad(as expected) but just about every curve afterward....it was one ride where I wanted it to end ASAP.Perhaps adding new trains from either GCI or GG would help?
  23. All I got out of it was pain. I'd so love to see the ride either gone or drastically reprofiled within the next couple of years.
  24. Despite the trims on hurler that ride is still a piece of crap,I made the mistake of riding it last weekend & it was just as bad...if not worse than before. Kinda felt sorry for all those poor souls entering the queue after I'd had my lap on it as they were definitely gonna end up wondering why they wasted 2.5 minutes of their lives on such a horrid ride.It was so bad that even the pre-drop curve coming off the lift was extremely rough.
