  1. That dosen't say much when there are only 2 waterparks in Northern Ohio excluding WWK. Besides Pioneer, what other one is there? (not including the sandusky area) Just cuirous which one i missed.
  2. ^Looks like the tree is holding it up pretty good. (couldn't resist.)
  3. Let's face it, they sandbagged the park. Look at it: Remove the shows, remove the animals (CF didn't want the hassle, no sweat.) remove two coasters, put in over-priced cabanas as an up-charge, put in a new waterpark, when the one there seemed to handle a higher capacity. Raise the price this year and we got CornHole. yep, we got CornHoled alright... I thought cornhole was an insult when they announced it. "oh yeah, yank two coasters and give us a tossing game to replace them???/ !!!!?????
  4. Good article. Anyone remember this one: http://www.sunnews.com/news/2000/0608/EMORESIX.htm Amazing what can happen in seven years.
  5. why? Because I'd rather give my money to Kennywood than Cedar Fair. Sure, Cedar fair may not be totally responsible for how the park got, but they're the ones that killed it...
  6. ^^ well said. Looks like I'll be going to Kennywood instead of Cedar Point.
  7. I guess the condo rumors i heard a fews months ago were true. CF will have a ton of land to sell, and in that area, they will make tons.
  8. http://www.forgottenoh.com/abandoned.html Here's another with pics. That acreage has been up for sale for months. on another site, in yahoo groups for Chippewa lake, we talked about this last spring. I would've thought it would've sold by now. Cheap price for that amount of land and water.
  9. First time i rode Meanstreak, first car/ first seat, we go over the first drop and hit the trims. It felt like the chainlift was faster than the plunge. We sat there going WTF????
  10. ^That would be a great idea. If they did a mini-tour, they'd make tons!
  11. I like the open feeling you get from a floorless. Suspended's are nice, but i like floorless better. (I'm gonna miss Dominator/BAtman KnightFlight.)
  12. This is my first ever Photo Beer report. Hope you like it. After having read many by the MASTERS (PHISHY, DEREK AND HATTchculi (sp?), I will try to do them justice. Here's a shout out for Ted, Walter, Derek and hattchhuli(sp?)! Thanks, guys! And in my hood, many beers of many places pass over this fence, MAN LAW.... That's my neighbor dave and I by the fence. We also had Killians. yep, us blowing up the hood.... My nephew dave and I... Good times with fireworks. These are my neighbors, dave lil and lonnie. great people! This is me and my pups. Frodo, the brown retriever and Nanuq, my Great pyrenees pup of 12 weeks at 40 lbs. Of the J W Dundees, this is the best of the lot. Amber Lager is not bad... But IPA makes for good Beercan chicken...
  13. Thanks guys. I figured I'd never tried it, and as you said: it's cheap. Great Lakes around here shot up this summer. A case of Dortmunder Gold, which was 10.99 at Giant EAgle went to 14.99 a twelve. At other places it went even higher than that. I'll try the sampler and give a report on it...
  14. Question for the beer drinkers here. Has any of you tried J W Dundees beers and if so, how were they? I'm pretty much a Great Lakes Brewery/ Sam Adams person, liking the variety of choices. Thanks in advance.
  15. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=38635 Carrying over from this thread, as Ted suggested. What would a 500 ft coaster be called: A PITACOASTER, (PITA being short for Pain in the A$$, for the massive maintenance issues it would encounter.)
  16. A Chorus Line (1980) saw it when i was in high school. Phantom of the Opera (2004) Wicked, which i have yet to see, but love the soundtrack. Cats: again, for the soundtrack.
  17. DollyWood didn't get best food? My opinion, but that's just wrong...
  18. Nice report, Ken. If all that happened was sending the BlueStreak down the tracks then i think the Bluestreak got off lucky. It could've been a lot worse. (i'm surprised it wasn't chained to the station under the tracks. I read somewhere about the coolers not even being owned by the park, which would account for not having them anymore. How could they not have Pop/soda for kids? I guess nobody had any Rum and Cokes, Seven and Seven's, or any mixed that require soft drinks. It's a start, and i hope the vandalism doesn't escalate.
  19. LOL, all these are good! the SLC had me rolling.
  20. Flood: They might be Giants
  21. LOl, this is funny. My daughter started school almost three weeks ago, and my girlfriends kid started two weeks ago. My sisters kid started last wednesday. Cedar point Bill... That's funny... Are they trying for Disney status or something???/ LMAO!
  22. Far cry from that Cleveland Clinic day, eh? ( i remember that weekend when i drove by... mega=packed parking lot. this summer, even that event didn't do so hot. As far as GL being crowded this Sunday. We went by there on Labor Day weekend and they were DEAD. The parking lot at Home Depot had more cars in it.
  23. Here's a few questions I have: How has Geauga Lakes attendance done this summer without X-Flight and Steel Venom? If the waterpark is doing as well as some say, has there been an increase in waterpark attendance enough to offset the people that were hacked-off with the removal of the two coasters? Does anyone think RWB will be fixed?
