[RCT2] Amusement Point
Chris Benvenuto replied to Dotrobot's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
It's Phoenix, not Pheonix. Otherwise, nice work so far. -
Man, I'd love to go to this place only if I could visit for the day. Hopefully that's allowed if you just want to do a few things and take a look around the place. Place looks simply amazing, to say the least. GKTW is awesome, I hope alot of kids get to go here, it certainly turned mah frown upside-down! Before= Now= Great report, and I'll be sure to vote!

^ Jim Joyce is not going to have a fun time in Detroit tonight, regardless of what happens. There's been alot of calls to the MLB offices in NYC tonight and today, with people wanting the last call reversed. Public opinion en-mass has a profound effect on businesses and events mostly involving the public. We'll see what happens. Horrific call, IMO. I may be a Tigers fan, and support them out the butt, but that had to be THE WORST call I've ever seen. Ever since I've started to cheer for them in the Spring of 1994 when my family first moved to Detroit. -
Depending on the disability's strength and level, I'd worry about the level of responsibility. I mean, sure, we're talking about Autism and something I've lived with since I was about 4 years old. My parents began to trust me on my own when I was about 12, and slowly gave me more as I grew older but that's a different story altogether and not the focus of the topic. What happened was inexcusable and thoughtless, both on the teenagers and the parent's behalf. Mom or Dad should've been outside of the line, waiting as their kid rode to see if anything went askew. But, due to the nature of some waterslide lines, they might've been impossible to do. I know some lines at Soak Zone have trees and building's in between them, and sometimes I do admit it's hard to visually watch someone line up for a slide there. I do have to say, this was a slip-up on the mom's behalf. She should've been in line with him, regardless if she was afraid of the slide or not. Just to keep her kid safe. But, this is me thinking out loud, to be honest. Also, when any kid beats on or picks on someone who can't control themselves due to a disability that's beyond their control is just, plain, wrong. Therefore, it's utterly disappointing and inexcusable for something like that to be ignored and not acted upon by other patrons in the general area. my two cents, my two cents.

^ If you're still having trouble with apps making it to your wall, you can also contact the developers about said problems and I'm sure they'd take care of any concerns or problems you still have. I've done it in the past, and I've gotten myself removed from their databases. Especially phone prank apps, I've had to file legal notices with them on how people abused their apps and have harassed me with them. Just passing this by, if it can help any, Robb.

Bump Bumpity: I'm about to begin my 2nd day at Cedar Point this weekend, and I did RipCord. It was a fun and thrilling ride, thanks for all the advice everyone! It was a great idea and even one of my friends did it with me.

Cedar Point's a coaster park, but not to the point of insanity like the creator of that map wanted. I mean, they have enough coasters already and Disaster Transport's STILL popular with the public. That's not going anywhere soon, especially since it has one of the haunted houses/experiences inside of it during HalloWeekends. -
From the class of 2008. Congratulations to all of you. Make us all proud.

I'll try and get the Cedar Point remaining photos this weekend, I have two days at the park. So, I should be able to, otherwise if I'm too distracted someone else will have to back me up. Or, I can just do it at a later point in the season. Either-Or. -

The Disk-O was there last year, I went and got the Silver Comet and Crazy Mouse credits on a road trip across NY and Pennsylvania I did with my dad last season. -

Also, what come before that is my tribute park set to Steve Franks and his Real World track packs he's ever-so-known well for. So look forward to that first, when I finish them. -
Sometimes you need to laugh at yourself, regardless of the rules. Lighten up a little? I'm sure in time I'll be posting one of my own dumb statements. So.

Well, you should honestly be fine next week. Weekdays have light crowds in most of May, so two days is most then enough. Unless there's something like Physics Day one of the days, and it'll be crowded due to schoolkids. But, otherwise, you should have smooth sailing for weekdays in May. I'd recommend doing Dragster or Millie first. Other then that, enjoy the days at your pace and more importantly. HAVE FUN! -

Whenever a park gets a first of anything and I mean ANYTHING. It's going to take awhile to get used to, and also getting it to run smoothly enough to make everyone happy (including fanboys) When I heard about the delay, I admit I was a tad disappointed. But, I thought almost afterwards "Hey, Intamin and Cedar Point are doing their best to get things running, and if it takes a few weeks more. I'd rather have it all safe, then have something fall apart or crash on us. " People need to give both parties an honest break, and pfff...the thing with Mav's roll incident. Didn't faze me at all. It's still a kick-ass ride regardless, roll or no roll. I'm looking forward to my two-day visit next weekend, first visit of 2010. I hope all goes well! I'll let you all know how I felt about it when I return! Chris "besides the delay, Intamin and CP are a-okay!" Benvenuto -
I'm going by myself, horribly enough.

Ok, come Memorial Day weekend. I'll be riding RipCord for the first time, and I need any advice to help myself get ready to ride the skycoaster. I've been on all the coasters and what-not at Cedar Point. For some reason, the reality of riding RipCord terrifies me to no end, but I still want to do it to say I did it. So, any advice?

I'll be there Memorial Day weekend, I hope it isn't too crowded. Well, I hope it is, but at a more comfortable level of people. As in, 30-1hr waits for bigger rides and 20 and less for the smaller ones. I mean, I hope it isn't too crowded on Memorial Day weekend this is my first time going to Cedar Point that weekend. Also, I'm riding RipCord for the first time that weekend. That's the only thing sending my stomach to my knees right now and it just sank as I typed this out. But, nice PTR!

This is odd, signs have begun to appear around the Detroit Zoo. Most of them say "we're moving" and also "property sold to Preston Amusement Company" and "Under construction, reopening in 2008!". I wonder what's going on at the Zoo, with all the trucks and construction equipment appearing on-site and in the zoo. I wonder if something has happened, or something new is being built. I'll have to wait and see! (This is a promo for a project I'm work on, sorry for the no-show. Something to think about really. ) -

The exact same thing happened on Splash Mountain by O.D. Hopkins and currently the Madagascar ride at USS is also having boat issues. I don't think this problem is exclusive to Intamin, nor do I think a 2 week delay is that big of a deal. I'm really sick of the pointless Intamin bashing when they are one of the very few ride companies out there who go out of their way to do some very unique designs. And with unique and innovative products comes technical issues. Cedar Point isn't making a big deal out of this so why should any of you? I mean, the Timberliner trains are delayed and I don't see any "lol, Gravity Group" posts. Why not? --Robb "If you're going to give a manufacturer crap for being late, why discriminate?" Alvey I'm not bashing them, I'm just disappointed. And like you said, no one's perfect. -

^ with the mishaps Cedar Point has had the last couple seasons with Intamin rides, I'm worried about ride performance more then the height requirement. If testing is going to TAKE longer then expected, what's going to happen to it also later on the 10' season? Maverick had this problem too with late opening, but that was more legit with the inline-twist having to be removed. Oh well, I'll be there for two days on Memorial Day Weekend. I'll ride it Saturday on our planned "re-ride our favorites" day. (I'm honestly sorry if I sound like an ass, but seriously for the last few seasons these tech glitches have disappointed me to no end. NO FREAKING END. Damn Intamins'! )
