NL 1.6 Screenshots
ShoubraStreet74 replied to hyyyper's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Too bad it won't look that good in the game because of the lack of high quality lighting and shadows that are available in the renderer used to give those photos. It'll probably still look very good, definitely an improvement over the current version. -
Ugly Roller Coaster
ShoubraStreet74 replied to Lord Kotowa's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've always thought that Millennium Rollercoaster at Fantasy Island looks horrible. Mostly a combination of almost no trees and what I think are really ugly colors. http://www.rcdb.com/ig843.htm?picture=8 -
Overbanked turns on a Woodie
ShoubraStreet74 replied to Three's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't see why that's true. As long as the train is experiencing some sort of positive G forces, it will be pushing out on the track, not pulling it down. -
Uggghh... 3 long nights to cram for U.S. History AP exam on Friday!

Good Airtime On No Limits

I would consider anything beyond -1.3 to be too excessive, and 0 to -0.3 as "floater" air. But that's just my opinion/estimate. -

According to RCDB the park opened in 2000 or 2001. This would mean that all that crapiness happened within about 5 years. I mean, all that stuff must have been new and running at some point, right? I would be very interested in some pics taken close to the time that the park opened, but unfortunately, there don't seem to be any online. I wonder whether the park is actually alive during the summer or any other time during the year. The fact that there were actually a few workers there and that it's near a Carrefour (somewhat large walmart-like store) makes me think that it can't be entirely deserted all the time. -
Ugh, I overheard so much GP coaster talk at school today, it was so annoying!

Most Disappointing Coaster!
ShoubraStreet74 replied to Beate's Freak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Psyclone I actually thought it would be a decent ride when I rode it for the first time. I hadn't known much about it as this was a few years ago and I actually went on it expecting an ok ride. Boy was I mistaken. It causes me intense pain in the stomach like no other coaster I've been on. Just horrible. Only been on it one other time since. -
Nightmare

Heh. I just saw this on WWS a few hours ago. Nice layout, but some areas were pretty rough and awkward, especially the transitions from helixes to hills and between banked and unbanked sections. The top of the lift had a weird shape too. It's not too bad, especially since this is your first wooden coaster. There were just a few problems here and there. -
Pain...Must Have pain
ShoubraStreet74 replied to TwistedTrack's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The purpose of a coaster is a near-death experience? Roughness adds something to some coasters. But pain is something that shouldn't be a part of it IMO. There is a big difference between roughness and pain. For example I enjoy Viper and Colossus at SFMM because of their roughness, but I never ride Psyclone anymore because of the intense pain I get in my stomach at the bottom of each drop. -

Wow man, that park looks very dirty and abandoned. I'm going to egypt this summer and plan to go to a park by the name of DreamPark. Supposedly they have an SLC and a couple other coasters, but hopefully it isn't as bad as "Fantazy" land. It looks like it might have been a decent place at one point. I hope nobody associates this park with the way things are in Egypt, because there are some very beautiful places to go to and even a few good parks. The last time I was in Alexandria was almost two years ago, and it is really a nice place to visit. Anyways, great PTR, it was very intersting for me to read through. Have you ever been to DreamPark? I would like to know if there are similarly crappy conditions or not. BTW, that price raising stuff happened to me all the time in Egypt last time. The taxis are the worst; if you even look a little touristy or they hear you speaking english, the price will go up alot. Fortunately even then it's never very much. -
No LImits
ShoubraStreet74 replied to TheMan's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Yes. It shouldn't be too hard for you to find. But I would recommend buying the game if you are able to. -
I prefer to download. But then again streaming videos can always be downloaded manually by right-clicking, properties, and copying the url into a download manager if the download option isn't available, right? I like the way the Tatsu video is done; It's available both for a download and streaming. Oh and the video worked in Internet Explorer but not firefox. But I assume you didn't intend on supporting that to begin with.

Very nice PTR Skyscraper. I saw you at SFMM a few months ago but was too shy to say anything. Oh Well. Hmm I thought Six Flags got rid of Mr. Six? (last pic) -
Your Closet Coaster

Colossus! http://www.rcdb.com/ig26.htm?picture=3 While I'm sure it's nothing compared to what it once was, it's great fun in the very back seat. I insist on riding it every time I'm at SFMM. It was my first major coaster as well.
