  1. I have somewhat vague memories of people asking to pass my family and I a few times in Florida when I was younger and I honestly don't remember what my parents said, although I'd assume they let said people pass as long as they were polite, but my views on this pretty much coincide exactly with Larry's, although it hasn't happened to me in recent adult memory. I've never been to a park alone, but on the odd occasion that a friend and I have not been bothered about riding together, we've gone ahead alone when there have been free seats. I'm big on manners, if people are polite and (IMO) justified in their request, I don't see a problem with it. If they're just asking because they can't be arsed queuing any longer... Then tough luck.
  2. ^ If you manage it, you could probably start a TPR business doing them. It's been what, 10 months for Jow? And how long since the bet was won?!
  3. ^ Awesome. And Wes could totally do it: Anybody who can create these trippy smilers could make a KT ticker.
  4. Elissa, would it bother you if EVERY member had this as part of their signature??
  5. ^ I HATED Colossus in the back, but eventually got a front-seat ride which somewhat improved my opinion. I enjoyed Inferno, although it doesn't stand up in my mind when I compare it to its sister. Still good fun though. Sorry, not criticising your opinion, you're as entitled to yours as I am to mine, it just really surprised me!! Fair enough.
  6. Ugh!! I never saw Raymond, but Boyle was in a whole bunch of movies I liked as a kid (still do, in fact), not to mention one of my favourite X-Files episodes! Great actor, hilarious. What a shame.
  7. Is this sarcasm?!?! The only time I've been to Thorpe was with TPR in June, so I never rode this, but really, can a basic powered family-coaster be better than Inferno or Colossus?! Neither of them are in my list of all-time favourites, but... Of course, if you were being sarcastic, my entire point is redundant and I apologise for it. Where are they putting this when they bring it back?
  8. ^ Are you really though, or do you just have a "femonian" half?
  9. Yo mama so fat she don't know how to use the search function. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23280
  10. No. As Chris says, 11 out of 33 in Europe isn't bad, it's just a shame they arent a little more evenly spaced over the country: 5 at BPB, 2 in Wales... Compared to the distribution in the US... Admittedly over there you often have far greater distances between parks because your stupid country is so damn huge (), but I'm not sure how it would work out as far as the ratio of woodies to mileage goes. According to rcdb, we've got 11 operating woodies, and 145 operating steel coasters, so only 7% of our coasters are wood. Compare that with the US, which has 115 woodies and 512 steel, meaning 18% of US coasters are wood... I'm talking about percentage of wood, God help me. But I'm sure you see my point.
  11. Ted, was it you who used the song Speed in one of the UK videos? Awesome song, although Eyes Without A Face may still be my favourite.
  12. Congratulations, she's beautiful!! You guys look like a lovely family. But hey, you stole my name!! Abigail was my number on suggestion for Elissa apart from the fact that she said she didn't want anything alliterative. Good luck with everything with the new one!
  13. LOL at for the first time ever, Barry posting something I was just going to post myself. The fact that he sings Frosty The Snowman amuses me, as does his attire. Not too sure why but... Funny. I <3 Billy Idol.
  14. Dude, you totally stole my suggestion!! I quite like quite traditional names, but not old-fashioned ones, if there is such a thing. I think "Emma" is really nice, and "Abigail" (maybe "Abby" or "Abi" for short) too, although I know you said you didn't want A-names. "Isabel" is nice, so is "Natalie". As far as using family names, I think "Meredith Alvey" has a nice ring to it, although I'm guessing that ain't too easy to find on park souvenirs if that's one of your criteria! Alternatively of course, you could name the baby after one of your friends... Wesleena? Jowsephine? Maybe Jahanetta?
  15. Love you too!! You're putting images of a big hairy green version of me doing.... Never mind. Eww you!!!
  16. He CLAIMS... ...So why DID he change his shirt then?? Excuses excuses.
  17. For once I'm going to actually agree with Barry!! One of the last places I would expect a new Eurofighter to pop up in. But very cool all the same, I've always thought MoA/Camp Snoopy/whatever was like a tiny piece of heaven for me: mall + amusement park...
  18. And that's exactly why, when said train came back into station with Chris and Daron in the front, I was running around going "are they okay, are they bleeding, did it hit them, are they laughing, what's going on??" like a crazy person, while everyone else collapsed into hilarity. Luckily they were fine. Poor pigeon.
  19. Theme Park Review isn't a site for people who think they are roller coasters? I am The Hulk, of course. (And incidentally, I'm with Gregg, I'm completely lost, but don't wish that to change.)
  20. We've really never named it, but my pool team always "pound" each other when we win a match, all of us. Incidentally, I don't remember if I ever posted it but I was telling Robb when he was last over here with Yeti Ball, a coupla months back some guy walked past me at university when I was queuing to get on the bus, stuck out his fist towards me and said "duuuuuude!!!!".... Know it could've just been coincidence, but if there's a Manchester student TPR member out there I don't know about, please let me know!! It freaked me out that somebody on campus might know who I was, I really didn't recognise the guy!!!
  21. Whoa Jim, so cool!! I love retro TRs, the older the better!
  22. Good God... That doesn't even bear thinking about!! I just like clicking buttons.
  23. ^ Is that the thing from ExtraTerrorestrial?! I used to cry soooo much in that preshow!!! Poor little guy.
  24. You know how much I love you, and how much I play with y'all, you hush now.
  25. You would be correct on that piece of knowledge. I guess I owe you a prize when I see you in Spain. If I live that long, I think Ryan wants to kill me now... The question is guys, did you have any missing pieces?! I know it's a cliche, but seriously, everything I've ever bought from IKEA bar ONE thing has been missing something... Usually only something tiny and replaceable, but that ain't the point!
