Seems like you've calmed it all down and called a truce now? Keep it that way if you can please guys, thanks! Constructive criticism is fine, but do try and make it constructive. -
^ The official time posted there for chat is just as a guideline, there are often more people in chat at other times. Just keep an eye on the list at the bottom of the main page to see who's in there. Plenty of Brits (myself included!) frequent it at more "normal" times for us!

I love how I locked this earlier but recieved PMs saying "oh, but we wanted to have an intelligent discussion!! Re-open it, please!!"... I give in to public demand, and where is my intelligent discussion?!?! -
^ Agreed. I generally don't like sequels, unless the original movie was designed to have a sequel, if you see what I mean. I loved 28 Days Later, to me it was an edgy, creepy, slightly quirky, excellent "horror" movie... I don't like this sacrelige!!

I'm admittedly not the most observant of people, and I've only ridden Charlie once previously, on the TPR trip, but during my visit week before last I didn't notice any differences, so... To a casual observer there was nothing different! But then, I was just sleeping through the boat portion to get to the "elevator" at the end. -

Really is amazing, ain't it! I work 9 hour retail shifts somedays, at a job that I HATE. I stay there because the money is good, the hours are incredibly flexible, it's highly convenient, and finding another job now might be problematic in getting the time off that I need this summer. But I despise it, and dread going in everyday. Anything to distract me from the mindless tedium and hatred for the place, work, and some of my colleagues, would be MUCH welcome. And I'm one of these people who feels like her arm has been cut off when her phone battery is dead. But I would NEVER consider having my phone on my person at work, even though it could be easily concealed. We also have an accessible shop line, but being caught using it for personal calls (except for with permission and whilst on a break) once gets an automatic warning, second time is dismissal. As I say, I always have my phone with me, but as soon as I walk in that door, as much as I hate my job, I'm in customer service mode, and even if I had my phone on me and was running the shop alone, as I do some days, I would never in a million years use my phone in the store. And all I do is sell products and occasionally dish out food, I'm not in control of anybody's safety or peace of mind in any way the way ride-ops at parks are. Really, even if they're capable of running the ride in their sleep, and the safety thing isn't an immediate issue, it would certainly affect my peace of mind and comfort if somebody in charge of a powerful machine that currently encases my body was chatting about their social life instead of giving their 100% attention and care to ensuring my safety. -

SUCKS. And yeah, is kinda weird. When we were there in February the kids having the party there seemed to be having a great time! I know that was only one day, but I would imagine there being kids' parties there most weekends.... Is that not enough? *sigh* A real shame. -

Interesting. While we were in the station (right), they kept faffing around with operations on the other side, lifting the riders into flight position and then back down, sent round an empty train, and then when we got off and left, there were several guys stood around inspecting the empty train. This was only an hour or so before closing though. Rita was running one train. We really didn't queue for all *that* long, had there been two it probably would've been practically a walk-on. Incidentally, this visit was probably the only time I've ever spent LONGER on Oblivion than queueing for it! They were running like six trains and it was a total walk-on, but we ended up sitting on the brake run for five minutes while they sorted out a technical problem (shocking, lol). -

Well this is where it gets complicated. On Adrenaline weeks they only have a select few rides open. This year however they were all open so even tho Rita's queue was HUGE we got 2 goes on it, Air's queue was kinda big too but we got to ride about 30 rides that day so even though they technically didnt keep their promise, they did a good job! Rita was launching every 3-4 mins with only one train so it was a huge queue, Air only had one station open, but Nemmie ran with two trains, Obliviong had about 6 on so there wasnt a queue at all for that. Def worth going in adrenaline week next year. Plus it was only £20! What day were you there? I was there Friday and they were definitely having problems in the left-hand station of Air, though I couldn't see enough to guess what was going on. The wait was listed as 45 minutes at one point but had dropped to "20" (actually ended up being 15) half an hour later. Biggest line of the day was Spinball on Friday, was actually almost a little annoyed about that, but everything else was running great capacity, efficient as ever, etc etc. Nice PTR, thanks for posting! -
I'm positively frightened by some of the pictures that could be photoshopped for "Where in the world is Yetiball" but I think it's a great idea!

I've edited the topic title to make it a little more descriptive, and you might want to re-read the TOS and try and improve your grammar and punctuation if you can! I'm sure some of our posters will chime in on this thread, but if you do a quick search for "Gardaland", it brings up two or three photo trip reports that you might want to look at too.

I do pretty well at home. I mean, if I come to the library, I tend to bring my laptop and use the wireless network anyway, so it really makes no difference. The only thing that's affected is that the university firewalls block any kind of messaging software. Like I say, it's about willpower and setting goals for yourself, but it doesn't surprise me at all that this is difficult for younger teenagers, hell, I consider myself pretty sensible and mature but I couldn't resist procrastination until basically this year, and I'm 21!! I'm currently sitting in the library. Posting on TPR. With the GAP and Facebook minimised. I'm doing well!

I really think it does just come down to distraction. I mean, this week, I've basically been sat at my computer almost exclusively ATTEMPTING to work on essays. I could have had every essay I have to write this entire semester done if I had been working consistently. Instead, I get distracted by TPR, other sites, Facebook, my email, etc, and spend easily half (if not more) of my time doing that instead. The only difference between me and the kids who gave the results in that study is that I'm old and mature enough to realise that at some point, I need to knuckle down and actually drag myself away from the distractions and work. It's all about willpower and self-restraint. Some weekends I self-ban myself from any fun sites until I've written a certain number of words. Works for me! *shrug*

Correct. I also think that Jow locked the original thread because asking for people to help you illegally download music isn't a great idea on a public forum, it hardly looks good for the site, hence me locking this one too. Thanks! --Louise -

WOW, I had NO idea that park was so gorgeous, the theming and landscaping is beautiful, and Anaconda looks amazing!! Add that to my list of must-visit parks, especially with the bonus casino and Vekoma next door! Thanks for sharing, Rich! -

Ladies only swimming sessions at your Pool
Louise replied to verticalzero's topic in Random, Random, Random
I really don't see anything wrong with this. Even if it's a public pool... I certinly don't know of any female-only pools or health clubs in my area, but even the mixed health clubs where there are probably either separate pools or separate swimming times are horrifically expensive and there's no way on earth I could afford it. If my local pool had a women's only swimming night it would probably have been less than a decade since I was last there!
