^ Same here. Drayton's X-Car had me in discomfort (and that aching dizzy feeling) just from the progression of the train down into the loop, and that was just a few seconds hanging upside down like that. I can't even imagine what I would be like after half an hour. Glad nobody was hurt. Those lifthills are the stupidest gimmick ever.

Wow, nice pictures from a random little park!! I've only ever seen those covered boat rides in Japan trip reports and the Alveys' videos, I didn't know there were any in Europe... Are there many others?! This picture totally freaked me out, is that a bird flying across the picture?!?! -
GREAT trip report Justin, I really enjoyed it. I know nothing about Waldameer, was good to see those pics. Is that spinning a coaster a Maurer? (Off to rcdb...) What's with them not running Dipper because of a broken mic?! Can't they improvise with a megaphone or something?! You dad and the Krispy Kreme cracked me up!!!! I don't know why, but I just can't get at all excited about Cedar Point. I'm big on quality over quantity for the most part, but they certainly get enough good reviews that I feel like I *should* look forward to getting there someday but... I'm very meh about it. Thanks for posting!

Camelot Media Event
Louise replied to stealth2006's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I *might* be going but am unfortunately still tentative at this point as work have promised me some overtime that week and I unfortunately can't afford to turn it down. I'll drop you a PM if I am, as I'll probably be getting the train too. -
This is the MOST important thing, IMO, above all else. We had problems training our last dog until we realised it was because of sheer lack of communication within our family: I'd punish her for something my dad would reward, etc etc. Make sure everybody who has that kind of contact with the puppy is on the same page and have set rules for what you punish and what you reward. Otherwise the dog will either get confused and struggle to distinguish right from wrong, or else will be a complete nightmare in that she'll figure out how to run rings around you all. As Yellow Jacket mentioned, make sure if you're going to punish her for, for example, jumping on the bed, you ALWAYS punish this, and never say "oh, go on, just this once", because the dog ain't gonna understand that. Good luck with her, she's adorable!

Ted is still hot, I'm so jealous. Catrina looked absolutely stunning. You both are awesome, I've said it before, but it warrants repeating: Congratulations!! Beautiful pictures.

Matt, I still have to say, a TR that contains you and Cameron, where you are not making out in any pictures... Yeah. I'm more than a little disappointed. Still glad you all had fun though!!

Phantasialand - Future
Louise replied to Harry82's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Where possible we try to refrain from rumour and speculation threads, there are plenty of sites out there that do that brilliantly, doing it here too just means we have a forum FULL of them. Please use the rumours and speculation thread for anything you hear, until something is officially confirmed. Thanks! --Lou -
Michigan's Adventure 2008
Louise replied to Coasterkid125's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If we had one of these threads for every park and every year.... Frankly the forum would be cluttered with shit. If you want to speculate about the future of a particular park, or just speculate wildly, please use this thread: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=35614&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 Thanks! --Lou -
How Old Are You & What Was Your 1st Coaster?
Louise replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'll be 22 in July. I've always assumed that my first coaster was Beastie at Alton Towers, though it's actually just as like to be Big Thunder at WDW... One or the other, I'd guess. I'm not even sure how old I was... Maybe 8 or so? -
We already have a couple of Ask Alvey threads dedicated to this, feel free to bump one of them and continue discussion! http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26117 http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17895 http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1365 Thanks! --Lou

I always knew it. That fudge I gave you, you've used it to make bombs haven't you. I'm now frightened to be on Jamez's flight from Spain to Germany. -

Firstly, I have to say, I find it a *little* strange that more than half of your posts on the forum are in this thread, and reveal a LOT of personal stuff about your family, yet you haven't been around that long (not that it's a problem whether you're new or whether you've been here from day one, just seems a little odd that you would share so much of this stuff with people you barely know at all yet)... Secondly, I'm not sure how Robb and Elissa and the other mods feel about this, but I for one am more than a little uncomfortable with this kind of detailed discussion about what is basically child abuse on the public forums. I don't want to sound harsh, but I do think perhaps this is something you should talk to an authority figure about, a teacher at college or whatever, the police, Childline, your friends' parents, a trusted relative... Just SOMEBODY who can actually help you. The fact that you tell us all this, and tell us what you say your dad does to you when you try and escape or talk to people about, yet you still happily post a picture of him and your mum on the internet... If he treats you so horrible, I can't even imagine how he'd react if he saw this thread. Seriously, get help, and get out. You're 17 years old, if you actually REPORT this, you will easily get out of this situation. If everything you say is true, then I'm sorry you're treated the way you are, but it's not like you're a defenseless ten-year-old who has no clue what to do to try and make their life better, you CAN get away from this, so please do so. As I say, I don't mean to come across as heartless or anything (believe me, I'm really not, my Dad is hardly a picnic to live with), but I just don't think it's appropriate to be posting so much about all of this.

Reed, that was Red Dawn Awesome!! I'm so glad you guys had fun!! A few random comments: * SUCKS that Alton was busy but not selling the fastpasses. WTF!!! * Also sucks that no everything was open at BPB. Which coasters did you get to ride? Valhalla rocks. * LOL at your "wtf is this rusty thing" about the moving chair. There are pictures on here somewhere (maybe the Southport update) of Ryan riding one of those on the UK trip. ROTATING CHAIR. * I'm so jealous that you got to eat at Gordon Ramsey's restaurant!! I love "chef's" restaurants, but they're generally so overpriced for what you get, even though the food is often outstanding. * Wagamama's is orgasmic. Chicken katsu curry is like my favourite meal ever. * The cruise ship looks beautiful. Shame the service wasn't what it should have been. * Antiques Roadshow makes me joygasm. * I love that you have a random mini-obsession with comparing your height with other things. Really great pictures, thanks for sharing! -
