  1. Not sure the original Q made sense to me, but I'll answer the same way everyone else took it: Coaster Plaza at Nasu Highlands is crazy. 4 coasters are weaving through each other over your head in the whole area, and the only other ride in the zone is a go-kart track that winds around Big Boom. For a single ride that involves non-riders in the experience, I'd have to say that TTD with it's grandstand and MF overbanking over the queue area are great examples. The final section of S:RoS at 6FNE is pretty engaging for viewers, too but it's hard to watch the whole thing.
  2. ^ Guy, I wish you were coming to the UK w/ us!
  3. Then you'd be pretty bummed if someone told you that is an Americanized creation. I was able to get a restaraunt to create that for me, but they thought I was pretty strange. The other REAL italian food is generally so much better, I never felt the need to ask for it again! For Manuele: I lived in Gaeta in southern Lazio for more than two years. I visited Gardaland, Mirabilandia, Fiabilandia, Zoosafari Fasanolandia, Playplace (but it had recently closed), Magic World, and Fantasy World Minitalia during my stay. I'm from America, but I currently live in Japan. Lastly, I plan every trip before I go, but I am especially careful for trips outside the US. I would hate to get lost or stranded somewhere!
  4. Ooh, it's the first coaster that I really fell in love with! Re-rode it repeatedly, and even blacked out on this one! (sniffle) The memories! Thanks for a great vid!
  5. I've got to agree, no one has seen any site markers, ground clearance, or other site preparation. If by some slime chance they were going to put a coaster in this year, it would have to be something "off the shelf," and that's just not the style of any of the Anheiser-Busch parks. Even a decent flat or dark ride would require some time to prepare for installation, so stand by for a parade, show or fireworks announcement.
  6. Ugh, I hate that white/green color scheme at Heide Park! At least if they reversed it on one of the two coasters with it...
  7. ^^ Hambone, that's got to be the best first post ever at TPR.
  8. I bumped into Richard at both his Boss run and his EGF run. I rode with him a few laps on EGF and we chatted a bit. It's been a while, but his "potty breaks" were more frequent than 15 minutes every 8 hours. I think he said 5 minutes off the ride every 2 hours, and 20 minutes every 6 hours. The coaster only operated during normal park hours and he was not required to stay on the ride once the park was closed. He said that there was a day or two during the summer that the park would not open, and he would be visiting a couple other parks on those days, specifically Europa Park for one of them. He mentioned that he's a teacher, and that he would not be able to go any longer than 104 days because of the school year. He also mentioned that he had done a stint in the Army. He's a nice guy. A little messed in the head, but still nice. I'd pick Jr. Gemini. It's new for me, so at least it would be a credit, and I could do other things like read, listen to music or play with a PSP or DS.
  9. Daemonen (Did I spell it right? I know it starts w/ D and ends w/ N.)
  10. Scary is right! That's one evac gone horibly wrong! It's definitely Japanese. My wife says that the park name isn't given, only descriptions of "scary roller coaster ride." If it took place in Japan, I know one park here that had an accident involving a drop or shot tower. Space World in Kitakyushu. If this in fact is the park where it happened, I can definitely understand why the ride would never reopen based on the mentality of other rides here that have had accidents. From the angles shown it is possible as no other rides are visible and SW's tower is definitely isolated in the park. I wonder...
  11. Arrow go bye-bye. Vekoma is getting a little better lately, and does have some decent rides out there. (Many Disney coasters are Vekoma made.)
  12. My taxi from Himeji station was 2830 and 2680 yen to return from Central Park, a distance of about 18 km. (Slightly different route each way.) Nasu seems to be about the same distance. Chris B
  13. If you are staying in Tokyo, you can take the Shinkansen (75 minutes) to Nasu Shiobara station then transfer to the JR Tohoku line one stop (6 minutes) to Kuroiso station. The bus takes about an hour from there. From Nasu to Nikko, you can take either the Tohoku JR line or Shinkansen to Utsonomiya, then transfer to the JR Nikko line. The trains themselves run 62 - 66 minutes, but the transfer times make it closer to 2 hours, depending on when you leave.
  14. ^Meh. That's just an Intamin Impulse. There's 6 more of them either identical or slightly modified. I've been on 4 of the 7. Gravity Max is unique in the whole world.
  15. Awesome! How hard is it to get to the parks? I'm an 'out-of-the-way-credit' kind of guy, and I'd love to try to get these while I'm not too far away.
  16. Ahh, I get it. If you hold your breath long enough (outside assistance helps) you pass out and don't notice G's positive or negative.
  17. TTD fell far down my poll this year, simply because Dodonpa does it so much better. (I haven't ridden KK.)
  18. WOW. I still don't understand what the group was you went to WDW with is about, but it looks like you had a fantastic time, Julie. Fantabulous TR. That gives me something to aspire to when I finally get the time to do photo TR's.
  19. :? I won't have to try the Psyclone trick, because if I ever get back to 6FMM, I know to avoid it like the plague.
  20. " AKA Ditto.
  21. The Ultratwisters tend to be the most ride-able TOGO death machines out there. I never got to ride that one, though. Does anybody (Robb) know if it was rough when compared to the ones in Japanese parks?
