These descriptions of MF from those of you who don't like it sound more like TTD. One trick pony, airless, first drop then track to the station. MF is the blue one! TTD is red and white. MF is my #1 coaster because of all the airtime I get, the overbanks, the tunnels, the ground hugging at speed and the overall smoothness of the ride. Which part isn't to like?

I'll be coming from the south, so Hakata/Fukuoka is out. Harmonyland and Wonder Rakutenchi are doable, though. I am surprised about about using Omuta Station, on my maps, Arao station looks closer. If there's a bus though... Miyazaki City Phoenix Zoo looks like an option, too. I think I will have three full days, so It all seems possible as long as all the connections are fast and the parks aren't crowded. I will most likely include Kagoshima Jungle Land as well. I sent my $500 deposit today!

I know someone who'd be pretty depressed by those pics. He worked at the park for @14 years, including as security after the closure. Sorry, Jay...

Elissa, can I glom some info off you? I'm positive that I can hit Mitsui Greenland and Kijima during my next port visit. I'd like to confirm that you used Arao station for Mitsui and Beppu station for Kijima. Also, how did you get from the train stations to the parks? Did you taxi, or was there a convenient bus connection that worked during the winter? Finally, what were all the "contingency" parks you had laid out for those days?

Was this one actually before Birdmen @ Fuji-Q? That one was SBNO for a loooong time before being converted into the hamster coaster.

OMFG. Where to start? Kevin Smith is such a sell out! He said he'd never do this, a million times! As usual all his buddies show up to make it look like they think he's the best thing to happen to movies. That actor who played Randall never even wanted to be in the middle three movies and only showed up for the fifth because everybody (specifically KS said there would never be another KS movie in "that universe." This peeves me off so much! He (KS) has so much talent when he applies himself to other projects (Daredevil, Spiderman, etc.)! How much money is Miramax throwing at him for this sequel he didn't supposedly want to make? Kevin Smith can $uck my A$$! $tupid G-d D@mned $ell out!!! I am so there! Snootchie bootchies! AWESOME!

There's a guy on my ship who speaks medlenese and is fluent in l337 sp3ak. He's one of the stranger ones. I osmosed Italian for two years, learned zero Arabic in one and am trying to learn Japanese between trips to sea. I took 6 or 7 years of Hebrew school and learned notheing and forgot even that since!

Night not be the closest park to AW for storage, but the closest park in the US to a certain Canadian location that is supposed to be rebranded with the 6F name someday, and how better to celebrate the 6F name than a used, relocated, cookie cutter coaster? (Sort of) Just kidding!

I am hoping to get back out there about once each month. 3rd weekend of January is looking like my next target date. It's like 90 minutes away plus $30 in tolls each way! February will be tough, I'm out to sea a lot, but March is good, too. There didn't seem to be any track on site in mid-December, but the footers looked to be done and electrical work was in progress. I'm just hoping the rumors of train problems are just rumors and the ride will open in July, as the construction workers seemed to believe was the target.

Pretty cool! You've got some really nice pics in there. (I especially think the angle you got of Medusa looks pretty interesting. Is that the cobra roll?) You must live near Pacific Park! 3 pics?
