Did you see anything at all indicationg that they were beginning construction of a new coaster?
-
Post them here, or PM me so you can e-mail them to me and I'll ask my wife to translate them for me.
-
I pay money to have Get Fuzzy e-mailed to me every day. (I get others as part of the deal, but I'd do it just for Satch and Bucky!)
-
Of course you are, dear, hence the wink!

Elissa, Either you are a saint, or you have not viewed Master Indyboy's other posts. I HAVE met you so it's probably the latter. Love ya babe, See you and Robb in June!

That was fantastic. That should definitely be a great addition to your portfolio. If Disney doesn't accept outside submissions, it's thier loss. Try Sally, I'm sure they'd be interested in a creative, talented mind!

Fuji-Q Highlands Discussion Thread
rollermonkey replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, I wanted to get over to the other side by the construction gate, but when you're with folks from out of country... We got a ride on Fujiyama and an after dark Dodonpa shot instead! -
China Construction
rollermonkey replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm not sure exactly where all these parks are, but before you go flying off to China, remember that the country is about the same size as the continental-48 of the US. It MAY be difficult to get from park to park. This is one I'd be real careful researching! I sure wouldn't want to get in trouble or lost in communist China! -
New Park in Maine?
rollermonkey replied to MarkyMark13's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Wow, upstate Maine? That seems a bit off the trail to support a theme park unless it was fairly small. The season would be fairly short, too. I'd say... CanobieFan, you got your ears on, good buddy? What do you know about this here rumor? -
New Amuesment Parks?

Are you asking about the Utopia concept? Try to be more specific! What state did you hear? -
A new amusement park!
rollermonkey replied to ArrowHater's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Zamperla must offer good incentive to buy package deals. I've seen other parks outside the US with mass quantities of Zamperla stuff, too. Usually those parks have been around a while and have bought some other things to compliment the original package, though. -
Fuji-Q Highlands Discussion Thread

?!? You've never seen a 'stupid' station? The footers adjacent to the station don't look like there's two tracks coming out of or entering the station. That's why I'm not placing any bets. BUT it is wide enough for two tracks plus "operating room." When I say there don't need to be ramps, I mean the ramps don't need to be concrete monstrosities like those at 6FMM, they might be simple stairs bolted to the side of the platform. There doesn't have to be 40 feet of extra station room because over here they often don't let you into the station until they are about to put you on the train. So a lot of stations don't have row queues, air gates, separate load and unload sides, etc. You should see some of the 'stupid' stations over here! The hamster coaster station (also at Fuji-Q) is a great example of stupid! It's like 4 feet wide outside the safety rail, and you have to traverse it twice to put your stuff in the lockers then get back to the loading steps! That's narrow when it's full of people and they force you to squeeze past them to stay at your place in line! All-in-all I agree that it is possibly single loading, but with T-shaped supports, a single line of footers could easily support two tracks. The station is very wide for it's length, and from the distance involved in looking at the station, I won't guesstimate just how big it is numerically, in feet, but it is very big. None of us should state with any sense of authority what the arrangement is unless you work for S+S or there is visible physical proof of something. That's why I originally said "it LOOKS like it is big enough for a double loading station" instead of it "HAS a double loading station." If you're going to argue, I don't HAVE to post my pictures here... -

^ There doesn't HAVE to be station ramps, but in the pics (taken from a @40 meter ferris wheel 500+ yards from the new station, it LOOKS extremely wide. I wouldn't bet you either single or double loading, but I am guessing from the proportions. I hope to get back in about another month or so and update the construction. Maybe it will be obvious one way or another by then? -
Request coaster pics
rollermonkey replied to turbolaaf's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think our friend wants pics that don't have a tag on them that say "Photo by this Coasterguy". The flipside is if you use our pictures, we'd want to be acknowledged in some way. I like the way that RCDB does it. Regardless of if you have a tag on your photo or not, he acknowledges the photographer outside the frame. That's only fair. I wouldn't want people taking credit for some of the pictures that I had to pay, drive, travel, etc to shoot. -

I'm going to say NOT A CLONE. Check out the new cage of supports that has sprung up this week. Also, the station foundation is done, and the construction has started up there. (No track over there yet, but it definitely looks big enough for a dual loading station!) More track is on site, with six unconnected segments around the work site and many sections of supports laying around as well. Sorry I didn't get around to the back of the site this time, but Fujiyama didn't open until late, so Don and Monica 'needed' to get the credit and it was very shortly after that the sun went down. Here's the pics... Dirt, track sections unlifted supports and the shoot the chute supports... Monica wanted to ensure that people know that she and Don are OK. From the ferris wheel, the new support structure looks fully erect. A steel crossbar was lifted while we waited for Dodonpa. These guys even work on Saturday! From a distance, the new support and another track attached... Footer layout, station foundation and a sideboob of the new support structure... And Don was OK until Monica shoved him into the shoot the chutes pond and he hit his head on the icebergs floating there. OK, so he only hit his head, but he MIGHT have caught hypothermia from riding Fujiyama while drenched, though! Don: let me know if yo -

Sorry, that's not true anymore. Pokepark: 2005 closed in September with the end of the Aichi Expo. It was never intended to be more than a temporary park, and the large vacant lot near Nagoya station will never be the same again. -

You would love Suzuka Circuit! It's a race track and an amusement park on the same property. -

2 New Vekoma Coaster Concepts
rollermonkey replied to Noobitizer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Frankly, the Splash Party concept is just outright theft. How many of the Roller Soakers have been installed so far? They improve the concept by allowing multiple 'water bomb' drops, but aside from that? Meh. The Hammerhead Stall modification didn't thrill me either, especially as they never even installed the original version anywhere.. I'll be more impressed if they ever pull off the Thrill Lift concept, or if they ever sell the 10-inversion model that's been on the site for ages. -
^Ugh. (Just pretend I'm Peter on Family guy, I'm going to get real un-PC for a moment:) These folks disgust me. Lazy to the point of motorized carts? Yeah, that'll help you keep the weight off! Then, they probably park in handicap spaces. Grrr! That's why America is great! Having lived overseas for the last 6 years has made me see just how bad the US has been supersized. The few times I have been home, it looks like people are just exploding! (End Rant) Sorry!
