  1. Hershey is offering an unlimited Fast Track now (unless they pull it before opening like last year), so that kinda negates that. But yeah, I'd still spend a day and a half a Hershey instead of SFGAdv. You can get in after 7PM the night before your main visit for no extra charge...they call it "preview."
  2. If you're in NJ and have an interest in large-ish ferris wheels, I reccomend the one at Steel Pier in Atlantic City. It's not as big as the one at American Dream, but has the decided benefit of actually being open at some point during your lifetime.
  3. ^ & ^^ Out of the mouths of babes. You're seriously comparing a craze game that launched two years ago, if that, and will be dead within another 2, with DC Comics, owners of two of the most identifiable superheros in history, and Star Wars, which has spanned over 40 years and is basically a license to print money? Wow. Talk about out of touch. No, it isn't. This is what you're missing. It may be "massively popular" right now (which I'd still argue against), but in 2-3 years no one will care. I have literally no idea what any of those names mean or what they're referencing.
  4. That no actual park has bought yet. NINTENDO. Not the same thing. Everyone knows Nintendo and their major IPs (Mario, Kirby, Pokemon, Donkey Kong). There's so much to build off of there and multiple generations of guests can relate. I had to look this up, and it surprises me. Shooting dark rides can be successful regardless of the IP, though. Look at the Reeses one at Hershey or Boo Blasters at Kings Dominion/Island. You're right. We're telling you, Fortnite is not as popular as you think it is. Yes, you do. And sorry, the 10-16 demographic isn't spending money at theme parks, and their parents would or wouldn't regardless of any Fortnite anything. It also doesn't change the fact that in two years, the same demographic that eats up Fortnite will have moved on to whatever the next "craze" game is. I only speak for me here, but no, I would have absolute zero interest in trying something, anything...a ride, a restaurant, a game, you name it...themed to Fortnite just because it was themed to Fortnite. And I am a gamer. Seriously, just give it up.
  5. I believe so. Right after Dorney Park gets their giga dive launched flyer.
  6. No, they're not, because in 2 years when the next stupid craze hits, even less people will know what Fortnite is. Even amongst "gamers", which I consider myself, its popularity is massively overblown.
  7. Just a comment on the trip down. The way you have it going, your trip from Shelby Michigan to Orlando will be broken into drive times of approximately: 11 hours 5 hours 3 hours If it were me, I'd stop somewhere in the Bowling Green, KY, area instead of Chattanooga, to split your first two drives to be 8 hours a piece, and just hit the touristy stuff in Chattanooga along the way. 11 hours on the road (plus time for bathroom and meal breaks) is brutal.
  8. What the hell grade is that workbook intended for, High School? Most of the math is beyond me, but then there are questions like this one: which seems like it's made for 1st graders?
  9. From everything mentioned in the announcement I think it's just a refresh and not a "rip everything out including the track and build from scratch" type project.
  10. Their name is "projektion", it only makes sense that's what they do. LOL.
  11. Glad to hear you've decided to spend your money where it's appreciated.
  12. Probably whenever those "family creds" stop making them a much better ROI than a major coaster would.
  13. My guess is one; the guy who took the picture. No one else cares or would have any idea what its for.
  14. It would appear that the ads are cookie based. I get all kinds for various sites I've visited recently. Edit: I'm an idiot who didn't see Robb's post.
  15. But...but... They're Six Flags now! That means updates will be more frequent! They better be...how else will I make it through the day not knowing if my mediocre hyper coaster which only runs, er... has one train will be called Superman?!?!?!? I must know!!!!!11!
  16. Curious where you're viewing the 2019 map.
  17. Do you care about visiting other SF Waterparks or various discounts? If no, then Season Pass is your best bet. Otherwise, membership. If you scroll down towards the bottom of this page you'll see a handy chart comparing your options. They don't open for another two and a half months. A new sign out front and some painting would take a week at most, even for Six Flags. You DL fanboys are something else, I tell you...
  18. Tampa to Atlanta is a 6-7 hour drive. Unless you're leaving Tampa at like 4 in the morning you won't have that much time for SFoG/Fun Spot ATL. Otherwise seems reasonable.
  19. Valleyfair isn't getting a new major ride. Please just accept this fact.
  20. I didn't see a MCBR on the POV video, so I'm thinking only one train on the course at a time.
  21. As far as I remember the "solar over parking lot" plan was shot down; this is being built in undeveloped land behind/off to the side of the park.
  22. One of the designers of the Beast, Jeff Gramke, still works for the park and has discussed this at enthusiast events before. The maintenance staff has done all the modifications to those trains, from shorting the cars, to changing the lap bars, adding the seat belts, and the headrests. Those trains are the original trains, or at least pieces of them are I have no idea what percentage is original at this point. I recommend going to Coasterstock and asking him yourself. He is doing a Q&A during the event this year. Although if you have been in previous years he has explained in the past why the cars were shorted and how it was done. I'll take your word for it, but color me skeptical. Just seems like something a major park wouldn't do, even in the '70s/'80s. Great photos...thanks!
  23. Yeah, its only something I've read about online and figured by the configuration of the air-gate-rows in the station (4 then a space, not 3 then a space like every other coaster that runs 3-bench PTC trains). This is the only picture I've been able to find: Haha no they did not just "chop off a row." That's the most GP thing I've heard on here in a while.
  24. Based on almost every one of his posts, I'd be surprised if he's been to any parks outside of Tampa, and even that one is pushing it. His title says it all.
