  1. Wow, spam accounts are getting good...this one even has a profile picture LOL.
  2. INB4 KIEnthusiast's lament that they didn't do Winterfest/Winterfest-lite this year.
  3. I dunno, they are showing closed on Thanksgiving and the following Friday....
  4. They're taking this to a little bit of an extreme. I may be a little removed from my time working at parks (last in 2003), but at that age you couldn't pay me enough to work Christmas.
  5. They are in the same state, but I know for certain that different regions of Virginia had different restrictions over the summer for a while.
  6. Sadly I start work at 7 PM on Sunday, but this is right up my alley. Hope you do another one.
  7. This is still SEAS we're talking about. I wouldn't hold my breath. Have they even paid off their debts for the new rides yet?
  8. They also have not yet announced a date for Cedar Point, the flagship of the chain.
  9. Maybe not....this year's "Welcoming You Back" page doesn't mention anything about social distancing on rides themselves, while last year's did. Guess we won't know for certain for another four months.
  10. I almost exclusively fly Southwest. I love their boarding procedure, lack of bag fees, and all the flights I've taken with them have been on time. It doesn't hurt that I basically fly for free with my CC rewards points.
  11. You can get it at KI too, at Tom + Chee. It is delicious, but sadly not a dining plan option.
  12. People with no actual/practical experience with death are for some reason fascinated by it. I don't get it either.
  13. I'm going to say a nice round $50 for a daytime ride, $75 for night time. $100 for a bar car if they have them like the High Roller in Vegas. Plus NJ's insane sales tax.
  14. That sounds like a good way to substantially limit their business, especially given that we're still seeing polls where 40+% of the population in the US has no interest in taking the vaccine at any point.
  15. Maybe that "Recall Newsome" attempt will pass, and then you could get a Governor that doesn't hate business who will trash his "tier" system where every tier means that things stay closed. Hell, even Cuomo of NY has finally said "Hey, we've gotta reopen stuff, or there won't be anything left to reopen later."
  16. Never rode the Flight Trainer at KI, but I did ride the one at KD in my youth, and miss it dearly.
  17. Wow. Tragic for the families.... Though after watching that video I can't say for certain that's a ride I'd get on if someone were holding a gun to my head.
  18. Didn't you know, the replacement for Volcano is Tiki Twirl, the S&S 4D? In all seriousness, I'm sure they've got something substantial in the pipeline for '22 or '23. I'm also pretty sure that, while they have input, individual park GM's don't have the final say on what rides come to their parks in the CF chain.
  19. Canobie missed the portable shuttle at Selva Magica. According to RCDB, there are 6 Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loops left in operation: Bullet @ Selva Magica in Mexico (Portable model with the tire driven spikes) Golden Loop @ Gold Reef City in South Africa Katapult @ Hopi Hari in Brazil Montezuma @ Knott's in California Psyke Underground @ Walabi in Belgium Shuttle Loop @ Nagashima Spa Land in Japan There are also 3 Arrow shuttle loops currently in operation: Diamondback @ Frontier City in Oklahoma Revolution @ Blackpool in England Sidewinder @ Elitch Gardens in Colorado There's also a Meisho one at Rusutsu in Japan and 3 Shibolai models at 3 different parks in China.
  20. Some people don't appreciate careening through a forest at 50+ miles per hour, for some reason. I'm not one of them and don't understand. Day or night, Beast in the front row cannot be beat by any other wooden coaster, IMHO.
  21. Why do they need to rename it at all? The only "California" theming it needs is being in California.
  22. Yeah, I love Dorney. Never any lines (for the dry park anyway), probably my #3 invert, a great collection of flats (some rare, like Enterprise, Demon Drop, and Apollo), an AWESOME log flume, and probably the second best water park I've ever been to (second solely since they don't have a swim-up bar). It even still has some of its charm left over from the pre-Cedar Fair days. There's nothing "amazing" about it, but its a nice little park, and perfect for swinging by Philly for steaks and drinks on the way home from (at least for me LOL).
  23. More power to you. I'm not that old school, but I definitely am in a lot of ways.
  24. That's all fine and good unless you actually want a physical card, which is a lot easier to pull out of your pocket and show to the cashier to scan rather than have to navigate back to the QR code on your phone every time you want to cash in your drink/dining plan.
