  1. ^I don't think I actually got a great ride on Voyage, I rode it 11 times on a day in August but I was stupid and didn't grab any night rides - I have to admit I had grown a bit tired of the pounding I was copping in the turnaround. So I don't think I have ridden Voyage at it's best. It was like that with Hades except I did get a ride when it was at it's best, I had a night ride near the the back that was unbelievable but the next morning it was pretty average. Back to El Toro, that seems to be consistently good in my experience, and I haven't personally seen any reports to the contrary.
  2. That crossover hill is such a surprise element too, really catches people unaware if they haven't been on ET before. As far as the Voyage goes, I thought it had qauntity but nowhere near the quality of El Toro, still a really good coaster though.
  3. I thought El Toro was unbelievable, the first drop and the 3 other monster airtime spots were amazing, the rest of the ride paled in comparison to those elements though but the rest was still very good. Out of the 203 coasters I have been on so far ET is #2 behind ROS at SFNE, though I will be riding both within a day of each other in August so I can really compare them (rather than riding them a year apart), and I'm thinking ET might go up a spot. No other coaster I have been on comes close to those two IMO.
  4. In my mind, definitely not a destination park (yet). The coaster line up looks very limp, I think they could have put in much better coasters which would have cost the same as the one's they actually did put in, and had the same theming. It looks like an adult aimed park with mostly junior coasters.
  5. I went on the Toboggan at Little Amerricka last year and I didn't think it was super bad. The car is very cramped, and the spiral bit doesn't kill you though the lttle dips at the bottom offer a bit of a jolt.
  6. Many may not have heard of Stan Winston but everyone would know his work in films like Alien, Predator and Jurassic Park, has passed away. Thanks for all those amazing movie moments, Stan. http://www.aintitcool.com/node/37106
  7. Leap The Dips is definitely one I'm looking forward to on the Behemoth / Ravine Flyer trip - thanks for the preview. Everyone loved your Voodoo pics that I selected for the East Coast trip coaster of the week thread. Have a good one on the Europe Trip.
  8. In 2005, I rode Millennium Force 18 times in a day including 12 in torrential rain (I felt like I was in the pain Olympics competing in the needles in the face event). I did SFNE ROS 11 times but I wanted a whole lot more. I've clocked around 25-30 on Xcelerator. On the midwest I didn't count but in the Kentucky Rumbler & Avalanche ERT sessions I got a lot fo rides.
  9. ^Both spikes are twisted on wicked twister, and wicked twister is much bigger at 215 feet tall.
  10. I see you made the on-point blog, cool, I only got around to looking at the CP site for the first time in a while today. I got two words out of Tony (after he had scored his test rides on maverick in the morning) when I was waiting for Maverick on the midwest trip when that weather you see in the DVD is descending - "save yourself.
  11. I forgot to mention what I actually thought of the movies, they were fun and undemanding though not something I'd watch twice. I did make an effort to see the coaster one #3, what a geek.
  12. I'll probably bring a stack of movies on the Behemoth/Ravine flyer (and East Coast) trip on a hard drive for the sake of portability def be some horror in there. I'll be filming Natatomic's psychotic episode for my winning entry for Funniest Home Videos - hopefully when she attacks he will be falling off something at the same time.
  13. Another sweet report, this thread should be subtitled Behemoth/Ravine Flyer & East trip preview thread. I do the coaster of the week thread for the TPR East Coast trip, can I use some of those Voodoo photos there, they are really good?
  14. From the photos that have been in our news about Jennifer's Body (well, it was more about Megan's body), I think the entire male demographic is definitely nailed. I have to admit I am keen to see Dcody's take on the horror genre. That wild mouse makes me think of that weird coaster contraption that looks like it has been contructed from scrap metal in that rather unusual Chevy Chase/John Candy/Dan Ackroyd film Nothing But Trouble.
  15. I think the Hawg will be fun at the very least, I wish I could get back to IB sometime soon, I love that place.
  16. Divv, you should be the recruitment manager for the TPR 2009 Scandanavia trip, I'm sold. Those parks look like they have so much character and detail, rather a lump of concrete with coasters on it.
  17. Love the look of that Eurofighter, I'd definitely make the effort if I was in the Minnesota neck of the woods. Disk-o's count as credits? I go off whatever is on coaster counter so unfortunately not for me.
  18. The Dragon Wagon at Beech Bend, it just about tipped over going up the lift hill. Also the Pinfari at Beech Bend. The Beast back row in the morning just about ruptured all my internal organs after the second lift hill, I felt like my rib cage was being crushed.
  19. Cornball Express - so much fun, probably not as much underrated as not as highly esteemed as other wood coasters. Maverick - seems to inspire indifference or love, I'm on the love side. Batman inverts - a bit taken for granted because there are so many but hey do pack a punch, thinking especially of the SFMM one. Viper (Six Flags Great America) - better than any coaster there, a really good woodie.
  20. The Voyage - good but not as good as people make it out to be. Tatsu - the best flyer but personally don't think flyers are that good, only one to die for element and that's it.
  21. I'm impressed, it actually looks like a really good kids area.
  22. Out of what I have ridden - Best: X Worst: would have been Psychlone, but that's gone so I'll give it to Gadget's Go Coaster at Disneyland for complete and utter mediocrity.
  23. ^Maybe they will use Soy Bio-diesel, which happens to be a piece of cutting edge coaster technology in Iowa (as seen on the Midwest TPR DVD).
  24. Yeah, I don't like the Wiggles, they are an embarrasment to my country. I've got a day and night in LA now before the Behemoth TPR trip so I might have to come up to SFMM, I'll probably steer clear of TT unless there is a credit on offer though.
  25. Is Percy the Small Engine the coaster formerly known as Goliath Jr, still no credit for all us overgrown kids I suppose? Wow KT really is growing up, I didn't even recognise her in the photo of Elissa and her.
