  1. Last Monday, my family and I went to Cedar Point for the first time ever. Let me tell you - I was blown away by its awesomeness! I remember the rush of excitement I got when e drove up to the park and along the perimeter road to the Sandcastle Suites where we were staying. We arrived last Sunday evening. What does this have to do with 100 credits since there are only 18 of them at Cedar Point? Well this is the first of many parks I will be going to this summer with new credits. The majority of them being on the TPR east coast trip in a few weeks! It took a while to get this started because of traveling and I am here in Colorado for orientation at College which was last week and have been to busy. Also, the internet connection I am on is slow and uploading the pictures to Photobucket took long. This is also the "first" free day I have had since before I left for Cedar Point. 6/23 - All 18 credits at the park were achieved today! We walked along the beach to TGI Fridays for dinner when we arrived. More of Magnum before I got into the park. Dragster of Top Thrill Better station work that from what I had expected here at a Cedar Fair park. Count the trash cans. We got in an hour early with the hotel and headed over to Maverick first. This is now my favorite roller coaster. Sorry Goliath... The lakeside setting of the park is awesome! Three train shot. Later in the day, this would prove to be a very Dan-UNfriendly water ride. I was wet for the whole day after riding this. Is it an Aqua Trax? Another ride beats out Goliath. The painful coaster. I rode this later in the day. Powerful up until the very end. The gates at the train crossing were malfunctioning which resulted in crowding, stuck, and confused guests. We took the Maverick path back and hit up credits that way. The authentic theming was a nice touch from the concrete and cans at the front of the park! Free to ride unlike at Knotts. My dad took this photo. Closed - FAIL. I came back later and got the credit. This ride is nothing special. Just slow and boring. Goldrusher at SFMM is better by a long shot. A good looking ride, but oh my god this ride is terrible. See that long queue!? I wouldn't wait more than a 2-train wait for this ride. It LOOKS good and fun, but in reality it is boring and headache inducing. I hated it from the minute we started going down the first drop which was trimmed to the point where you could feel yourself slowing down as you descended. The ride is very bumpy all around and gave me a headache. Not even the old Vekomas at my home park of SFDK are as painful and crappy as this. From what I have herd about Psyclone - I never got a chance to ride that - This is probably worse. I will personally fly 2500 miles out to the park to take place in a torching ceremony of this piece of sh*t. I really hoe the rumors are true about removing this ride. The scrap wood would make better firewood than a coaster! I also wouldn't mind seeing it shredded up into mulch for landscaping purposes. If this were Final Destination 3, this picture would show my death. Maybe not the best comment to make after what happened at SFOG yesterday. 50 minute wait including 10 minutes of down time was worth it. This ride kills Xcelerator the way Jr. Gemini kills Mean Streak. Draggin' Iron. Neat ride, just boring compared to Ninja. My brother and I were addicted to this during our stay. We rode all 4 towers. Corkscew was fun. A bit bumpy, but nothing worse then CGA's Demon. Raptor OMGZ Airtime heaven. One of the best wooden coasters I've ridden. Last in the country. Maxair provided some neat views of the surrounding area. Corkscrew credit. We headed over to Wildcat, but threatening weather shut down the park. I have come to conclude that the reason they have such an anal rain policy is to move guests from the rides into the shops where they can spend money. We noticed all the shops crowd up as well as restaurants during this shut down. This is an understandable policy. We took this time to do our shopping at the park. My family decided to head back to the hotel to drop off our purchases, and other things we did not want to carry around. My brother was tired, so he just went back with my parents. Afterall, everything was closed due to the weather. i decided to stay and took the opportunity for some credit whoring. No, not on this. I already rode this earlier in the day. It reopened just after my family left. There was not even any rain. They just shut down due to the threatening clouds. Magnum us a fun ride, but the lapbars hurt like hell. They need some of those Intamin replacements! After that, I headed back to Gemini. On my way, I passed Jr Gemini and noticed it was open. Although I heard this was an impossible credit without a child, the ride ops still let me on. I was amazed they let me on. Credit number 73 for me! See!? Then it actually rained for about 20 minutes in the classic Cedar Point downpour. My family got back after it rained and we rode Gemini on both tracks. Gemini-blue was my milestone 75th credit I then rode Woodstock Express and got this shot of Millennium Force. One of my new favorite shots. Mantis hurts. I love it's placement over a pond though. Good looking ride, not so enjoyable. Worst station ever. Better than Mean Streak though. Last picture of the day. After Iron Dragon, we got back to Wildcat which was my last credit in the park to bring me to a total of 80 so far. 18 credits down, more to come in the next two months! Thanks for reading!
  2. Top Thrill Dragster after closing time of the park on Tuesday.
  3. ^ Six Flags should sue the church group and the family for giving them a bad reputation. With the financial troubles Six Flags is already in, a lawsuit could be a death sentence for the company as a whole if they lose. Imagine - all Six Flags parks having to be sold because they had to pay so much money to the family of a moron to cover a lawsuit that they could no longer afford to operate any parks.
  4. ^ Unless the kid was adopted, he obtained his parents' genes and his parents are just as dumb as he was and will do all they can to screw over Six Flags and give amusement parks a bad reputation. Who's up for mandatory sterilization of dumb people like this in case we aren't lucky enough for their stupidity to kill them before they get a chance to reproduce!?
  5. ^ Your analogy was perfect! It all comes down to the greedy, f***ed up American court system. As heartless as it sounds, I feel no sympathy for the kid or his family. The kid had it coming.
  6. The park should sue the kid's family for their kid creating a mess under their roller coaster, then use the money to replace all the fences around their inverted coasters with electric fences to keep idiots out.
  7. I feel more sorry for the park for what they will have to deal with (lawsuits, paperwork, etc) than the kid and his family. It's morons like this who kill parks. Sure, its sad for the family, but at least now the guy is out of the gene pool, and one less moron in the world. For the park, this is Great America all over again with what happened on Top Gun 10 years ago. What's next? 10ft high electric fences with moats and bricks?? I smell a lawsuit brewing which will result in Six Flags paying out millions to the family of the idiot. Once again, Six Flags will pay the price for the dumb actions of others. Remember the outcome of that Waterworld USA accident 10 years ago? Only in America...
  8. What you're saying is ridiculous and complete bs. Quote from the movie by Ian while queueing for Devil's Flight coaster. "You're more likely to die driving to an amusement park than at one." Just something you should think about next time you get into a car. As much of a fan of the series as I am, I will admit this was one of the cheesiest scenes I had ever seen in a movie. The physics were horribly done, and it looked more like something out of RCT3 than anything else. It also says something about just how bad that scene was by them using the "RCT scream" in the movie intro. In fact, I now want to go to PNE Vancouver just to ride what they did in the movie.
  9. With getting back to the Sandcastle Suites hotel at Cedar Point last night at 11pm, not getting to sleep until 11:30, and having to wake up at 4am to go to the airport to go Colorado, I got about 4.5 hours of sleep.

  11. Airlines should stop charging extra for checked bags. Now I know they are only trying to make up for money lost due to fuel costs, but this whole paying for first checked bag is a real problem. It slows down the check-in at the airports which makes for longer waits and problems with checking in. People are going to go the extra mile to avoid having to pay for their bags whether it means arguing with the people working the check-in counter, or bringing their oversized suitcase on the plane to fill the overhead compartment. The airlines to crack down on all the violations of size limits for bags. Too often I have been on flights which are delayed because someone refused to check their 50 pound bag and tried to stuff it in the overhead compartments. They should just raise the ticket prices to cover the fuel costs instead of this "nickel and dimes" thing they have going. Besides, a less than $15 cost increase in ticket prices for everyone would actually save money for those with checked bags. Another option would be to charge for total weight of passenger plus their bags. Here in America, this could generate a lot of extra money for the airlines. A 300 pound person should pay twice as much as a 150 pound person. This would also cover costs of the fuel it takes to get the heavier planes off the ground. Passengers in the cabin would also benefit from not having to sit next to someone whose body spills over into their seat. Too bad here in America this couldn't happen because the airlines would get sued for discrimination.
  12. Haha, where do you get your facts exactly? There is no proof oil supply is running out. At the rate it is being used today - it will more than likely be gone within our lifetime. Sky rocketing oil prices have to do with supply and demand. As the supply decreases - demand increased by a proportional amount. With increased demand - higher prices result. Examine the basic economic facts, and you will see that the prices are going up at such fast rates because the supply is decreasing.
  13. I's really sad to hear that Villain was sold to a scrap company. Until this is confirmed - I won't believe it. I was hoping they could move this coaster down the road to Cedar Point.
  14. That scene was done late at night sometime in the first week of May. The mall is still standing. It was all special effects - I guess. Maybe the inside is trashed, but the building is still standing and looks untouched (aside form hurricane damage). Filming for the movie has been done now for a couple of weeks and they are in the post production stages. To clarify, here is the location I'm talking about - Photo by Windows Live Maps
  15. My friend's mom told me she heard explosions at the at the New Orleans Center, where part of the movie was filmed last month, since her office building is attached to the New Orleans Center. My guess is the ending takes place in the "Springhill Mall" which is the New Orleans Center all dressed up and renovated for this scene in the movie. This is certainly something to look forward to!
  16. 1 - I think it's based on a real accident. 2 - Best opening sequence. 3 - Who wouldn't be afraid of tanning beds after watching that? 4 - Maybe you will never visit a pool, mall, or cinema either based on what I have heard. One year after the disaster in the first movie, a massive and fiery pileup occurs on a highway in which the main characters are saved by a premonition which delays Kimberly and her friends from entering the highway in their SUV. That car crash sequence was awesome! My only real complaint about 2 is the lacking of connection between the main characters since they are all total strangers (mostly adults) whereas in 1 and 3, they are teenagers who all know each other from school. That connection adds to the drama of the whole movie, and that whole side story with the pregnant lady in #2 - complete waste of time and unnecessary sidetrack from the plot.
  17. Yeah, there hasn't been a good strong plot since the first one, the deaths weren't all that gruesome in the first, but the story-line made up for it. The second one has the best deaths and twists in my opinion, but the story line is horrible and weak. See the movie to understand why. In the third one, they finally got it right. Nice intense and dramatic build up to the disaster/premonition, emotional connections between characters, very brutal/disgusting/twisted deaths, and an unexpected twist in the end. East coast trip people: I'm not bringing my laptop on the trip, so somebody please bring the Final Destination movies for the horror film festival on the bus. Lets all watch FD3 before some night rides on the coaster look-alike Great American Scream Machine!
  18. Make it just his right eye and we will have Final Destination 2 in real life.
  19. ^ Officially the new low for the GP.
  20. The Flute (Mike Shiver Remix) - Avanto
  21. I have known about this for months, but now that filming just finished several weeks ago and post production has begun, it's time to begin the discussions and speculation. Like the third movie, this one too, takes place at an amusement venue. Instead of a Vekoma death machine, this involves a teen who's premonition saves him and some of his friends from a car crash at a race track that sends debris flying into the audience in the stands. The film is directed by David R. Ellis (Final Destination 2, Snakes on a Plane). The movie was filmed mostly in New Orleans including a scene, which my friend who lives in New Orleans told me about, at the New Orleans Center which was renovated into the "Springhill Mall" for the film. Her mom works right near there and has told me about the filming taking place there. What has been said already is all I know about the movie. So this is just speculation at this point, but I have a feeling this might be for a shocking ending similar to that of FD3. More information can be found here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1144884/ I plan to see this opening night at my local theater!
  22. ^ Yup. I leave for college the day after I get back from the East Coast trip. ^^ Honesty is the key, which she didn't have the courage to tell. It was only after I was straight up with honesty about my feelings for her that she decided it was time for me to know the truth.
  23. When my friend was visiting from out of town this weekend, she insisted that the operators stopped Rock 'n' Roller Coaster (Disney's Hollywood Studios) upside down because somebody lost their hat inside and it fell on the tracks. She had just ridden the coaster a few days earlier. I explained how they can't just stop the coaster at anytime. I asked if she was confusing it with a MCBR (I dumbed it down for GP terms), but she insisted that it stopped upside down and that she knows because she was on it.
  24. She didn't want to hurt be by letting me know earlier, but when I told her how I honestly felt about her, she decided it was time to let the truth out. I don't blame her for not wanting to tell me when she first got here (on Thursday). Besides, she lives out of state and she has lots of guys going for her, so I guess it would be hard to make a long distance relationship work out. I would have done it for her, but we decided we are not meant for each other. I just dropped her off at the bus stop to take her to the airport since she is leaving today, and now it's time to move on. We want the best for each other, but we just cannot be. I have a feeling this is for the best of us. What timing for her to get another boyfriend...just before she comes out to visit me when she led me to believe we might be.
