For any of the photos that I am in pools and such, I used one of those one-time use cameras with the protective covers. I use one of these for my digital camera when at water parks. It works out great!

Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden Every time I hear this song, I think of the time my friend sang this on Rock Band as a heavy metal dark scream for the vocals.

Can you please change mine to "Final Destination Guy!" ?

Girls are so complicated. First she tells me how great of a guy I am and excited she is for when she comes out to visit in less than 3 months for my prom; now she (without telling me) abandons me for another guy. It's times like this that I question the existence of love. I just wish I could find someone who would stay... Oh well, I guess long distance relationships are doomed and can never work.

I guess Scream 2 will be next after X2. All they have to do is paint it, add a tunnel, replace the pavement with grass, get the soundtrack, and they will be all set! Rockin' Scream sounds like a great idea. Upbeat club techno like this always goes good for roller coasters. Scream already has good techno played in the queue and station. It would be awesome if they could get something like this going for X2 also, and release the soundtrack like Disney did with Rockin' SM & CS.

If you're in northern California for part of the time, I highly recommend SFDK. Great park!

RCT2 Help!

Lots of guests in a small area causes a major lag. That might be your problem. -
Ask Mark Shapiro a Question!

What are the plans to replace all the rides at SFMM which have been removed recently (Freefall, Circus Wheel, Flashback, Psyclone)? -
Oakwood Lake Manteca Waterslides
Goliath513 replied to Goliath513's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thank you so much for that! Do you think you could find a picture of a slide similar to the Bungie Tower Speed Slide and describe some more about the 9 original slides and that disco slide? Also, was that pool in the children's/deck area a wave pool? -
Oakwood Lake Manteca Waterslides
Goliath513 replied to Goliath513's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm bringing back this topic because I was just talking with my dad about this park today since he went there in 1977. Sadly, I have not found any more pictures than satellite photos from after the closure of the park. It's depressing to look at the view from today which shows the entire location of the park now under water from Oakwood Lake. darklingscribe- Do you think you could label on the first picture where all these attractions were to give a good idea of the layout of the park? Anything would be appreciated. EDIT: Some aerial photos from when the park was open. Without a trace in 2007. I'm guessing this photo is from sometime in early 2005 during mid stages of the park's demolition. -
I wish there were more women like you! Suddenly, I wish I were 5 years older.

Old Disneyland Maps
Goliath513 replied to sfmmfreak101's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I used to have a 1978 map which my mom gave me, but I gave it to my friend who's a hard core Disneyland fan and would appreciate it more than me (not that I didn't already) -
Well you are only 12. I can understand why they wouldn't want you going on a TPR trip. My parents certainly wouldn't let me go if I was that age. They're not overly paranoid, it's just common sense to not let a 12 year old go by himself with a bunch of strangers.

^ LOL! Better yet, don't buy popcorn at all. Nobody likes the taste of kissing someone with salty popcorn breath.

^ She lives out of state so I rarely see her.

^ Not always. The girl I'm "with" loves roller coasters.

Past or Present Great America?
Goliath513 replied to sfmmrules!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ That looks like Georgia Scorcher at SFOG. I really miss the old Great America. Old, meaning 2002 - the last good year of Great America. That was my first year I visited the park, which also happened to be the last year for Greased Lightnin. Greased Lightnin was the perfect ride for the park because it was thrilling and was the only coaster in the park which didn't have hour-and-a-half lines during the day. Stealth was also an amazing ride. As for the other rides, Vortex beat the crap out of me (rougher than some Vekomas), Demon also beat me up, but that has an excuse since it was over 25 years old, Invertigo had horrible capacity and beat me up almost as badly as Vortex, Grizzly was decent (probably because wooden coasters have no head banging) but it beat me up in different ways. Psycho Mouse - lame excuse for a mouse ride. Top Gun - only "great" ride still at the park today. Most efficient loading I have ever seen on a roller coaster. No joke, I counted a 45 sec dispatch from unloading of a train, to dispatch of it with the next riders. Loggers Run was pretty fun, especially with it's close proximity under Stealth. It's hard to go wrong with a log ride. On the subject of the older rides, my parents both remember Willards Whizzer as well as The Edge. My dad visited the park during Tidal Wave's opening year and Greased Lightnin will always be Tidal Wave to him. For The Edge, when I was describing an1st gen Intamin freefall and my parents didn't understand what it was, I just told them it was "just like The Edge at Great America." That shows how well known the ride was back in the day. Lets hope the 2009 GCI woodie can put the "Great" back into Great America. -
It's 2008! Where are you headed this year?
Goliath513 replied to OldJJman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I plan to hit up my home park of SFDK a few times throughout the year. New credit on THBS. Mid June: My first ever trip to Cedar Point!!!! I will spend at least two full days at the park. August 7 - 18 (Confirmed): TPR East Coast USA!! At least 12 parks (I don't need to name them all) and over 90 coasters! I also want to do a trip down to southern California to go to SFMM and KBF sometime this year. -
http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&partNumber=MSSWIC2 This can compress a 10 min video down to about 20mb. This also works great for compressing videos for the iPod.

Yes CGA still has theirs. I have said the same thing about using that building to house a simple flat. I think it could prove quite successful. It would also be cool if they built something in Dragon's old station. It would be a shame to see that nice piece of architecture torn down when it could also house a flat. Two problems could be solved at once - getting rid of "unused" structures by using them for something and adding more flats.
