Six Flags Magic Mountain Announces "X2"
Goliath513 replied to Loco's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think the ride would look nice with a dark red track, yellow rails, and black supports. That way over time, the red would fade into more of a reddish pink, and the black would fade to grey. Therefore, creating a similar color to the existing color scheme. Only 4 left more hours to ride X before it closes down. -

Wow that coaster makes X look as smooth as glass. I sure hope the new S&S trains for X don't transform it to Jackhammer the Ride like this. "That was actually worse than X, I didn't think that was possible" -

A question about coasters and health
Goliath513 replied to digidude18's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Batman is certainly more forceful than other inverts I've ridden. I rode it when I was sick and I felt more shaken up than normal. A combination of a hot day and lack of food or water will do that to you in BTR. Now if that were Silver Bullet, you'd have nothing to worry about. -
Worst Coaster Experience
Goliath513 replied to airforcekid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ha, it's funny that I was just browsing a the exact same topic on another coaster forum before logging on here. Over the years, I have become more desensitized th the pain of head banging so it doesn't bother me as much. I remember one particular ride on Kong at SFDK back in 2001 resulted in my friend and I coming off with headaches and bloody ears. The ride has since improved. The following year at CGA, Vortex battered me around like a jackhammer and left me with a headache, only to ride Demon and Invertigo and have it get worse. Vortex should burn and Invertigo should be replaced by a Deja Vu. Wishful thinking, I know. I never got a chance to ride Psyclone so I can't participate in bashing of that, but I can stand up for Flashback since that was a good experience for me; contradictory to what I've heard about it. -
A TPR Community Park!
Goliath513 replied to Twister II's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I would do this if it was for RCT2. Over at RCPro, we have a competition like this for RCT2 called Summer Showdown. It involves 5 teams of 5 to make 5 or 6 different parks (one for each round) which are scored by a group of four judges. -
SFMM - I hear so many people complaining about the park being a dump. Sure, the park may not be a Busch Gardens, but there's more to a park than just how it looks. I also hear complaints about the coasters. Yes, most are not very well themed, but they all give quality rides in one way or another. Colossus is an amazing wooden coaster. Goliath is the best ride in the park! Viper, X, Tatsu, Riddler, Batman, all provide excellent thrills. Ninja is a great fast paced ride through the trees, easily one of the best old coasters in the park. The rest of the coasters are also pretty good and worth riding. For other than coasters, Log Jammer is amazing. I would go on and on, but I shouldn't. For the few flats they have, Freefall (though it may not be around much longer) is the best in the park. Spin Out is also a nice thrill. Give the park some credit.

Go for the iPod, I cannot stress this enough! One of my friends has a Zune and he hates it. He wishes he had an iPod. I'm no Apple fanboy either. In fact, as a Vista user, I'm far from it. But my trusty 2-year-old 6gb iPod mini has worked out great for me.

The Official Nintendo Wii Discussion Thread
Goliath513 replied to MiamiBoii4392's topic in Random, Random, Random
Well I played a Wii for the first time last Thursday at my cousin's house. I really like the way the controller works as motion sensitive and doubles as a game controller. My brother, my cousins and I all played Wii sports for a while. The bowling game is addictive and the golf is awesome! We also played the original Super Mario Brothers on the Wii for quite a bit. Good 'ol retro gaming on a next generation console. My brother not has enough money and plans to go out and buy a Wii this weekend. I'm not much of a gamer anymore, but I still enjoy them very much when I have time. When he gets this, we plan to sell our Gamecube since the Wii will play all of our games for it and works with the controllers. We haven't gotten a new gaming system since the Xbox right after Halo 2 came out. -
I would be more than happy if that is all I got. Aside from that, not much. -Music CDs -External hard drive for my laptop -Simpsons Seasons 9, 10 on DVD

These Japan updates are seemingly never ending. Honestly, how many parks did you go to and how long were you there? -
Opryland U.S.A.
Goliath513 replied to montezooma's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
From what I've read, Hangman/Kong was the only successful relocation from the park. It would be nice if they could salvage some of those rides now at Old Indiana. Oh well, at least part of Opryland helped build up my home park of SFDK, even though the coaster is far from decent. -

Theme parks in Google Earth
Goliath513 replied to texcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have no idea which version of Google Earth I have, but mine is not censored at all. There's a nice, clear view of Area 51 that I just looked at. Mine also has crystal clear views of parks from distances as close as less than 300 ft. Area 51. No censorship here. Geauga Lake before they sent in the bulldozers. Vortex at CGA from 272 ft. -
I assume Boomerang will retain the same colors?

Contrary to reports otherwise...
Goliath513 replied to texcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Flashback SFMM - I rode this long before I heard anything about it or other coasters. I liked it. Roar SFDK - I have heard people bash this by saying it's too rough. This is one of the smoother woodies I have ridden. Nothing wrong with that. Grizzly CGA - I don't remember this being the death machine like people say. It was just as smooth as other woodies I've ridden. Twister 2 EG - Rough? Not it's not! Most enjoyable ride in the park. Go across town and ride Cyclone for roughness (even that's a good ride). Flying Coaster EG - Sure, it's no B&M or Vekoma flyer masterpiece, but it's good enough for me. Ghostrider KBF - Love this ride! Just awesomeness! Colossus SFMM - Roughness is a feature that adds to the experience of the ride. They can't all be Swiss engineered El Toros & Balders. I guess I just have a high tolerance for roughness on woodies. I probably would have liked Psyclone if I had got the chance to ride it before they removed it. I try to look beyond roughness on coasters to see the good in them. Take Lakeside's Cyclone for example - there are many people on the forums I am registered to who if they rode it would probably love to see it meet the same fate as Psyclone. I have heard people say that about all the woodies listed above. I mean c'mon people, just because a ride is rough does not mean it's bad. Even with Riddler and Tatsu, I still think Viper is one of the best rides at SFMM. SLCs and Boomerangs are also good rides even if they are the more rough of some coasters out there. Yeah I do occasionally bash them like everyone else, but at least I just try to give all coasters an equal chance. -
Closing Down A Theme Park
Goliath513 replied to astroworldfan1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I remember when they announced the closure I was shocked. It was just too much for me to handle at the time. I never expected that SF would go as fat to close down a park. I had never been to the park, but some friends of mine had been there. It seems like this is just more of a reality each year for the closure of parks. The latest issue of Roller Coaster magazine discusses the closure of Myrtle Beach Pavilion. Geauga Lake is a different story. The actions in recent years sent the park into a downfall and with the cutbacks by Cedar Fair, it was only a matter of time before they cut the lifeline to the park. Many of the coasters and other rides are being relocated, unlike with SFAW how most ended up as scrap, or rusting away in storage. -
RCT2: TPR Theme Park
Goliath513 replied to WillMontu's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
You know what this needs...a water park. And not just the "unacceptable levels of wetness" kind. One complete with large slide structures and much more.
