  1. The 11oclock openings really don’t bother me. The coasters on that list (Corkscrew, Gemini, WT) never have long lines and nobody rushes to them first thing in the morning anyway. Power Tower also is typically dead early morning. The biggest bummer is probably Windseeker. The rest are kiddy rides and flats that nobody is going to be devastated won’t be open for the first hour. Honestly, it’s always shocked me that Cedar Point opens (nearly) full force first thing in the morning since it’s such a gigantic park, when plenty of smaller parks have had staggered openings for decades now. It just makes financial sense for a lot of parks
  2. I always thought single rider lines were a privilege set aside for friendless coaster enthusiasts? No?
  3. That’s pretty impressive, but isn’t everything inside the bins going to slide and crash down to one side when it reaches that incline?
  4. I imagine there will be a bridge to connect the two areas? I’m finding it difficult to imagine how a level crossing with the road would work in terms of making sure no one sneaks into the park. Not to mention hoards of people stopping traffic all day to cross over.
  5. My favorite thing about impulse coasters is when they were new, everyone was in awe at how wobbly the towers were as the train went up and down them. And how all of these armchair engineers and physicists proclaimed “if it didn’t bend, it would break!” Fast-forward a few years, and every impulse coaster now has additional supports because the swaying apparently caused too much stress/wear/fractures/what have you - there was a profound structural reason for them. Obviously the saying “if it doesn’t bend it’ll break” is true to an extent, but these rides took it too far. Oh, Intamin.
  6. Man, BGT is gonna have to find some way to redeem themselves in 2020 to make up for this travesty. What could they possibly do to dig themselves out of this abomination of a hole? What a shame.
  7. Because for some enthusiasts if the slightest vibration is felt or they’re jostled in their seat a bit, the ride is considered rough.
  8. What would a Batman “themed” roller coaster entail? Black and blue paint with plywood character cutouts? I can see why you’re so keen on that happening.
  9. ^ Never have my inner thoughts been expressed so precisely! Such a quick turnaround from the first reports of testing till opening day! iheartjapan
  10. I’m sure if it made financial sense, they’d stay open longer. Must expect it to be pretty dead on those days. The question is how many potential guests are choosing not to go on those days BECAUSE the park closes so early, making the problem even worse.
  11. Bill, obviously the 500 footer is going to have a giant support structure there at Sandcastle and another giant structure where Cedars used to be. Anyone can see this!
  12. ... but... but... Cedar Point is America’s Roller Coast, don’t you get it?! The stars have aligned and it is their destiny to get a big shiny new coaster in 2020 because reasons! And I want one!
  13. Or if you want to ride WW, drive the four hours to SFFT, and hope that SFOT gets something unique?
  14. I do wonder if this is primer or the actual new color scheme. White and gray would be very non-SF.
  15. ^ Literally never works to the point that I don’t think they even try to send groups through. Every house I’ve been in at Universal has been a 100% unbroken line through the entire maze. Honestly makes it so that legit scares are basically nonexistent.
  16. Laughing at the people who now say “gee, NOW this really makes me want to visit BGT for the first time!” As if it wasn’t already one of the best parks in the world
  17. Cut him some slack, it’s an entire sentence for Pete’s sake. Somehow Universal made it super unique yet incredibly forgettable at the same time.
  18. Are you asking us to speculate on when we might start speculating?
  19. I think the most likely coaster for 2020 is no coaster at all. #fanboinightmare
  20. And you know, an orange and black color scheme.
  21. Nobody should plan or expect to ride this until October. Don’t psych yourself out and maybe you’ll be pleasantly surprised if you end up getting on it mid September.
  22. Oh wow... this may be one of the most universally liked rides to be removed. It’s right up there with Dueling Dragons and Big Bad Wolf. This sucks.
  23. ^^ In other words, everything is progressing according to plan
  24. Given that CF has built exactly zero flying coasters ever, and had the opportunity to do so when they were the “in” thing, I think we can rest assured that it won’t be a B&M flyer (thankfully).
