  1. LOL I kinda agree. It’s like when Maverick came out and a big deal was made about the “twisted horseshoe roll” and all I could think was, it’s just two corkscrews with a turn in between I bet it’ll still be cool though!
  2. While on the subject of removing Cedar Creek Mine Ride, I have long been an advocate for keeping around the old Arrow mine rides, but my opinion has recently changed. It would be one thing if CCMR had an appropriate height restriction (like every other arrow mine ride out there) but as it stands, it is a sad excuse for a family coaster. If it were to be replaced with a Firechaser Express type family coaster, one with theming and as long as the park actually made an attempt to keep some of big mature trees and not clear cut the entire site, I’d be perfectly content with that as a replacement.
  3. Lucid, while I really shouldn’t dignify that with a response because I think you might be trolling, just because there are preparations to add track on what used to be the third lap of the old ride does not mean that will be the third lap on the new ride. RMC makes changes like that to the original structure all the time in these conversions.
  4. If anyone is hoping for a third lap to magically be added, you’re going to be sorely disappointed. The other RMCs have had some slight variations in the final product when compared to the renderings, and that’s all anyone should expect.
  5. Same here! It threw me off before I remembered it’s just one seat across. Also, the restraint is in the “up” position, which takes some mental gymnastics to visualize what they’ll look like when they’re down.
  6. I worked TTD in 2009 and I can tell you that hours where there was no mechanical downtime we could expect 1000-1100. Which is considerably less than most of the big coasters in the park aside from Maverick.
  7. The park can’t keep the one wooden coaster that they have open with any regularity as it is. The last thing they need is another one.
  8. Hey all! Been obsessing lately over RCT Classic on my phone and got to a point that I’m actually really proud of the result, so I thought I’d share with anyone who cares to take a look. Played this as a true scenario, even though I failed the objective that I set for myself (LOL), but all of the money is legit earned and the park truly functions. 26 coasters can be found in this sprawling mega park. A lot of them have obvious inspirations from real life coasters that have special places in my heart. This is still a work in progress - I want to finish filling out the map, but figured this was a good stopping place to show it off. Below are a few screen shots, but there is a lot more to see, so take a look and let me know what you think! River Park.sv6
  9. Double post :/ other thread has the download Valkyrie, B&M dive cosster Main midway shot with Corkscrew, Virginia Reel and Pippin
  10. I mean the park doesn’t open until 2pm on Christmas. Even if employees have to be at their post a couple hours earlier, the majority of Christmas festivities can still be had before work.
  11. I’m obsessed. I just downloaded RCT Classic and this was the first park I downloaded... I’ll be having fun watching this for a looooong time! I looked at the park map and I was all Amazing how much track there is in this park! Do you know how many coasters/rides there are in total?
  12. Amazing how that photo looks absolutely nothing like present day DL. Nothing screams Disney more than chain-link fence with a Keep Off Grass sign. Yes, the park that Walt himself walked through
  13. It’s funny though because I think most people will exaggerate when telling that story... “we were NEXT in line!!!!” But when I worked at Cedar Point, I overheard guests saying that almost every day
  14. The head banging I can understand, but if you’re a coaster enthusiast who still doesn’t know how to ride a B&M stand-up properly and not come off the ride with sore balls, I don’t know what to tell you. Adjust the “seat” an inch below your crotch and there will be no discomfort at all.
  15. I’d be happy if they just demolished the entire site and did some nice landscaping. That alone would nicely improve the runup to what is essentially the entrance property. But I’m sure there is some sort of actual plan for the site.
  16. Why are people still so obsessed with that old “opening up the beach” comment that was made around the time Gatekeeper was being constructed? I think all that was meant was that Disaster Transport was being demolished. The way some of you have taken that comment years later makes you think nothing will ever be built on the beach again because it would block the view of the water. Pretty sure that’s not what was being inferred.
  17. ThrillRideFan, you sound like you’re, what, 12 years old? Not because of the way you (try to) put together sentences and paragraphs, but because it just sounds like you’re a bored young coaster enthusiast who is tired of being dropped off by his mom at SFA and doesn’t get to go anywhere else. I’d be bored too if I only had arguably the worst Six Flags Park to go to. Fret not, when you grow up, you’ll have the ability to travel and actually LIVE anywhere you choose, and you won’t give a single crap ever again about SFA
  18. I’m sure ESRLoop can elaborate, but I remember some of the wings on the original X literally sagging.
  19. Does anyone know why MM runs their ZacSpin so differently than the one in Sweden? I find it strange that MM prefers guests to get sucker punched in the groin in ththe name of taming down the ride. And why would MM want to tame down GL anyway? It’s at a park that consists of 90% extreme rides. Is it a maintenance thing?
  20. I totally get why someone would want to go on opening day for Steel Vengeance, but really, if you can, go the day after and wait half the time in line. Also, can we get a word filter for “Steven”?
  21. Somewhere along the line, some people decided that vibrations and getting moved around in your seat meant a ride was rough. People used to just accept that’s kinda just what roller coasters do and didn’t complain about it.
  22. ^ The loss of the option of Sandcastle, but remember the Breakers expansion that is due to open next season. I’m sure that the new tower will make up for the rooms lost at Sandcastle partially (if not fully). Guess we know now the reasoning behind that new tower. This is exciting news... but I can’t help but think that we won’t be seeing a new hotel on that site. I really think Cedar Point would have just done an extreme renovation of Sandcastle, just like they did with Breakers if they saw value in a hotel there. With the net effect essentially being zero with Sandcastle closing and the new Breakers tower, I think Cedar Point is satisfied with this number of rooms. Time will tell.
  23. Most other RMCs are at Six Flags parks, not Cedar Point. SV will not have the capacity of Magnum or Gatekeeper, but the line will clip along.
  24. Also, don't go opening weekend if you're planning on your only trip. The park has been notoriously underprepared on opening weekend the past decade. Honestly, the best time to visit all year is the first week (during the week) of 10:00 closings in June. Super light crowds, full staffing, perfect weather, and long hours. The big issues that rides experience after being on ice all winter have also been worked out by that week. Go then.
