  1. ZeroGravity, If what you’re saying is true, then what would be the point of the seatbelt, since apparently RMC and Cedar Point are ok with SV just ejecting riders if the lap bar fails? Seatbelts are, and always have been there as a backup if the primary restraint system fails.
  2. I suppose it would depend on how far up it lifted. If it was just an inch or two, but still technically “green”, then I would imagine there would be no fault.
  3. Of course it would. That’s the whole point of the seatbelt.
  4. ^yeah, when was the last time all of their coasters were actually operating on the same day? Anyone know? It’ll be interesting to see if the Six Flags company makes an exception to their “no giant blockbuster expensive attraction” strategy for SFMM now that it’s their (only) truly year-round park.
  5. I’ll repeat what another user said about the profile pics. That’s how I usually determine who the user is.
  6. ^ LOL yeah, that’s how it’s been since I worked at the park in 2010. It all depended on who was in charge in ride ops that day... and even then each person wasn’t ever completely consistent.
  7. Part of the appeal - at least to me when I was working at Cedar Point from 2006-2010 - were the long hours. I knew more than likely I’d only find part time work for the summer anywhere else, so while I wasn’t making much (I think my last year base rate was $8.50, but as a Team Leader in rides I was making like $8.75 LOL) the 60-70 hour work weeks made it worth my while. And I mean my love for roller coasters sweetened the pot as well.
  8. Said post (from 1994, excuse me, off by a year ) https://groups.google.com/forum/m/#!msg/rec.roller-coaster/ZAM8T2TZcOQ/zoD9cKZqwvEJ Moral of the story, Cedar Point is a gigantic park as-is. They’ll continue to remove old rides to install new ones. They’re never going to expand the park into the parking lot.
  9. Ever since about 1993 when enthusiasts thought there was no possible way to squeeze the supposed B&M invert anywhere within the park boundaries. That was a thing? Good Lord. Ther is *another forum* where whenever the topic of Cedar Point running out of space comes up, someone links to a post from 1993 where the user is perplexed as to where the park could possibly find room for another big coaster.

  11. ^ Honestly, to me, those rides look a lot more interesting to watch than to ride. The vehicle the riders are actually on looks like it barely does anything and there’s just a bunch of stuff flying around them. Of course, nobody has ridden one and I might be completely wrong... but I think the world’s largest frisbee is sure to be a much more thrilling.
  12. ^^ I would assume that if you had a park hopper and visited all 4 WDW parks in 1 day, that each park would receive 1 reported admission. So yes, the numbers are a bit skewed in that not each admission is a “full day” admission, but I suppose that goes for any park.
  13. DILinator, I apologize. That part of my post was uncalled for.
  14. For all we know, Cedar Point was only able to add Steel Vengeance BECAUSE of all the extra revenue they’ve brought in from Fastlane over the last several years.
  15. Wait where’s the third lap?! For those without a sarcasm detector:
  16. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] New SV Scoop was posted. Awesome new shots of it in action and surrounding areas!
  17. That zero-g roll completely inside the structure got me like
  18. Are the other wave turns this wonky or am I just seeing one from this particular angle for the first time?
  19. ^ And it works, too! I’ve done VR on a coaster before, didn’t care for it at all, and I STILL want to try it out on a drop ride.
  20. Are we really asking for predictions on a queue length for a ride that isn’t even open yet? It could be between 0-240 minutes, depending on a couple dozen different factors.
  21. I remember when Storm Chaser’s first POV came out and it barely made it to the end. Now the biggest complaint about that ride is how much their thighs hurt the next day because of how relentless it is till the end
  22. I think it has much less to do with an “exclusivity clause” and much more to do with parks that are in close proximity not wanting rides that are too similar to each other. But even still, there are plenty of exceptions. Another one being SFMM and KBF only 60ish miles apart, each having B&M inverts. I mean why would B&M want to intentionally limit their sales like that?
  23. Looks sick! That wave turn looks extra wonky - love it! Construction on the unannounced, secret, surprise third lap should begin any day now!
