Um... what? The train stops at a block right outside of the station for a while, that means the train that is shown on the video is probably the second train on the station. I'm quite sure they are using dual station like Maverick to make sure the train duels. Edit: sorry I got confused on fuel and dual. Nothing to be sorry about, your English still beats out my Korean 100x over.

Garet's Everland/Lotte World TR's 2014/2015
Garet replied to Garet's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Although work is keeping me busy this year Everland at Halloween looks even more incredible this year than the last one as seen on this blog: http://szsup.tistory.com/642 On the negative side, Everlands operations still drive me crazy. I don't know why Everland bugs me so much with it's operations when I've been to Lotte World on days where even the smaller flat rides have almost a 2hour wait and roller-coasters have 3. I think its because when a park has everything running and there are still lines, you know nothing can be done but when I'm at Caribbean bay in a 2 hour line for a water slide and all the slides are only running 1 side or I'm at Everland and 4 of the bigger crowd eaters are sitting with signs saying open from 3-10 and your running out of time trying to cram in the other 4 crowd eaters saying 10-2, it makes you wonder why they all aren't open. Our kindergarten kids went for a field trip and so many rides for the little ones were closed. The website didn't make it looks so bad with only half shown as closed but when you got there a lot of them either opened late or were just play areas. I understand that weekdays are quieter but when a family is paying full price it seems a bit unfair to explain to the kids they can't go on so many. All parks have closures but these sit closed 4 days out of 7 lately. -
I've never really felt that way about Tokyo Disneyland, all the different Disney parks seem to share so much as well as having a mix of their own unique stuff that i've never really felt that any one of them could be labelled "greatest hits." I think the only park i've ever really walked into and thought that it had a real combination of being a "greatest hits" park combining some olden ones you can't find anymore with some present rides and some unique ones of their own was Universal Japan.

Garet's Everland/Lotte World TR's 2014/2015
Garet replied to Garet's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sorry for the double-post, I figured since i'll be visiting the Korean parks or getting news often i'd just re-use my old topic for now, update it with the TR's (hoping to go photo the new Childrens Grand Park in a few weeks.) or any Korean park news that comes my way and maybe just start a new topic for 2015 next year. Lotte World has one of the most fun promotions i've seen in a while, there's a (apparently famous) giant rubber duck currently set up in the lake and you can gain half price entry to Lotte World by taking a picture of it. I've heard various reasons for it being there from being to try and distract from the negativity surrounding the still under construction Lotte Tower or to celebrate Lotte Aquarium and the lower areas of the tower being finally allowed to open by the government. Either way it seems like a fun promotion. However the duck wasn't overly co-operative on its 1st day of residence in the lake: http://iamkoream.com/giant-rubber-duck-goes-flat-in-seoul/ -
Parks Creating Rides In-house

Check out the first post, it was seeing how much Adventure Island made themselves that made me start this thread. -
Romon World to open in China
Garet replied to _koppen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It is a triotech theater, ironic considering how similar this park is to Lotte World in architecture, theming and ride placement etc, that Lotte World installed a very similar theater 2 years ago (although theirs has guns to shoot at the film.) With each picture I can see more similarities, the monorail is another that looks like its come straight from Lotte Worlds plans and the pirate ships placement really really reminds me of Lotte Worlds too. -

I've actually had friends lately do the opposite thanks to the additions Universal & Disney have made. Both groups of friends had booked around 7-9 days and had planned to do 4-5 Disney, and 4 days of Universal, Wet n Wild and Sea World with a little sightseeing in an off resort hotel but after realizing they wanted to spend a lot more time at Universal thanks to Harry Potter areas and wanting to eat there one day and sample Springfield on another, as well as not wanting to have to rush each park at Disney and seeing the perks of fast pass+ decided to break their holiday up so they did everything but Disney for 7 days and are planning on saving up to come back within the next year or two and do a full 7-9 days at a Disney hotel. Granted that means they didn't spend any money at Disney this year but this would have been a one time trip that has now become two with Disney now pretty much getting all their money on the next trip since they've done everything else. In this case it definitely feels more like the parks can gain from each others additions than lose competition. I'd imagine that most people who live far away and make Orlando a one-time trip were always planning both parks or were just die-hard fans to go to just one of them e.g. Disney fans/Harry Potter fans/Simpsons fans. -

I know i'm a bit late for this but how did the plane-on-a-stick work before when it was joystick controlled? I think I saw 2 joysticks, did one do something different than the other or was that so every-one could have a turn? I'd have hated to line-up for however long it was and then have some-one joystick hog or try and interfere with my turn because they didn't want it as intense as I did etc. -

(Hoping you meant 3.) Sorry I meant 30 minutes, generally Sundays have been a lot kinder than weekdays and Saturdays this year. I visited 3 of the parks recently so here's some mini updates. Everland: I went to Everland during Korea's big 3 day holiday since my wife was away and they have a foreigner discount. Chuseok, the holiday is traditionally when Koreans will travel to visit family elders, so Chuseok didn't use to be as busy as other public holidays but these days it seems a lot of Koreans use it more to travel than visit elders these days or those who do come from the South of the country who have family in the northern parts will check out some of the tourist attractions in the area. Everland was packed which is why it shocked me that they were running the half day operations still. The rides which were running half-day times had lines spilling out and 90 minute waits while the other rides in the area sat closed until the afternoon. When rides are only open 3-4 hours because of this system it makes it hard to not miss a lot. I heard a lot of complaints from people who had to wait over an hour for a q-pass ticket for T Express just to then wait 70 minutes for the actual ride when their time came up (that's their fault for not picking up a map and seeing there are other ticket booths though.) but it was the complaint about how many people missed out on rides due to the operating hours that was interesting. Maybe just because i'm used to the park, I know to check the app to see the ride-times but i'm curious how many people who see a ride in the distance with people would go around the park to check each rides time before riding anything (the only way outside the app is to check at the entrance.) Now its Halloween, the park is pretty busy so everything is open thankfully all day but on my last visit the kids area was even worse than before with nearly all the rides shut and 3-4 rides open. I'd hoped that it was because maybe the area would get an overhaul but with the park busy and them all open again it seems its just a policy of the quieter the park is the less choice you have, which seems kind of unfair for the families who will still have to pay full price to get in. In terms of construction, there was a huge construction fence in the main are in front of T-Express which looked quite exciting but once closer, it's another food-hall being built. Pororo 3D which opened 2 years ago has gone down for an overhaul, it wasn't open when I visited but it's opening "season 2" with a new space themed cartoon. Lotte World: I popped into Lotte World since I had a few hours to wait while my iphone was fixed. As much as I joked in my TR when there was a teaser poster for an attraction that said "Wild Tours" that based on Lotte World's previous attractions it would be another simulator or movie based ride, there was a new poster suggesting it really is another simulator based ride. The poster now said Wild Tours with 3 pictures underneath "Wild Wing" with people sitting in a plane shaped carriage in front of a screen, "Wild Jungle" with people sitting in a Indiana style jeep in front of a screen and "Wild River" with people sitting in a boat in front of a screen. Judging by this i'd assume it's 3 different simulators and you choose which one to line-up for but since it's only a teaser image it could also be one simulator with a show that rotates out. Childrens Grand Park: It has finally re-opened, i'm going back to take photos and do a full TR soon but the emphasis is definitely on the children park of the name now, anything that inverted is gone. What I wanted to know now is does anyone know if one of the Chinese Parks brought an Intamin Gyro-Swing? Does anyone know if the Childrens Park ever ran it before the park shut down for it's big overhaul? I was under the impression it was extremely new and had been included on a lot of the concept art for the re-opening so it was quite a surprise to see an empty roof where it used to sit. -
Some Korean parks have been running a similar system for a while now especially Everland. T-Express is reservation only during holidays and weekends from opening to 3pm, the busy hours to keep the line around 30-60mins although people never read the map to see that there are multiple ticket booths so end up waiting only at T Expresses ticket office for 50 minutes for the fast pass and then another 50 in-line. And the flume ride standby line shuts the second it hits an hour and fast-passes are handed out starting an hour from the shut down point with return times until all the tickets are gone. I believe they also run this system for the bigger flume rides now in Caribbean Bay, you have to get there early to reserve when you can come back and ride. Lotte World are also using it for their new childs flume ride but I'm not sure if they've removed it now the opening has passed, i'll check on my next visit. Everland's have been permanant for the past year though. Didn't Alton Towers also convert one of their rides in Cbeebies land into reservation only due to crowds? I think I made a topic ages ago asking if fast-pass only rides would be the future of theme parks lol.

I know there's been a ton of amazing films by now but i'm still amazed that Ben Affleck went from movies I would actively avoid to movies I generally look forward to seeing him in. It's like he woke up one day and became a whole new actor. Not quite as many movies as Ben but the same could be said about Matthew McConaughey, I used to actively avoid his movies too. I'm still waiting for the moment Keanu Reeves wakes up and decided to be a whole new actor.

Out of curiosity, why does Frozen the movie get such a huge backlash as being over milked by Disney? I don't remember anywhere this amount for Stitch, I was a huge fan of that movie but even I started to get sick of him somewhere around a 4th movie/2nd tv series. He's around at a lot of parks at the expense of old attractions (with more on the way) and I don't see people complaining about how overused he is yet Frozen with only one movie is. I mean in Hong Kong Disney a few pieces of the merchandise that comes in groups of 4 is Mickey, Minnie, Donald & Stitch, and I don't see people going crazy about him being in what would probably be Goofys spot to Disney purists. I wonder how the Disney purists would react to Japan's Fantasmic when he pops out of the hat instead of Mickey and his girlfriend goes round on her jet-ski and gets one of if not the biggest cheers from the crowd, even more so than the mouse. -

Those tagadas are popping up all over Korea lately outside of theme parks as attractions on their own. They can be quite hard to spot since they tend to be buried in basements and you have to keep your eye out for their Korean names written in Korean "dipang" or "discopangpang." Before I learnt the name I had no idea there was one in my little town. They normally are set to music accompanied by a DJ, disco lights, strobe lights and a spot light that will highlight the top part of the ride. The ride stops there on a person and they are interviewed and quizzed and get bounced out of their seat for getting questions wrong (or right, no-one likes a no-it-all.) They always seemed shocked to see a foreigner show up so I get spotlighted often. -
A friend sent me this link since it was the swimming pool near my first house, I remember the slide from when I was a child, it wasn't anything special but was big enough that on special childrens days they would allow tubes down instead of being body slide only. I don't think the people who have brought it have any plans to turn it back into a proper water slide but still 50 pounds sounds like an incredible bargain. Apparently The Back To The Future Musical director has quit and it's being pushed back to 2016, it's a shame I was going to be in London next summer and had hoped to see it but oh well, these things happen

I realize i'm a bit late since the whole Frozen/Norway thing happened but I finally got out to one of the bigger shops to find the drink Robb was talking about. Sorry about the quality, my battery had swollen on my iphone a little and pushed on the case so my lens was crappy, I got it fixed a few days after. It was hidden behind the jerky and didn't exactly have prime placement in the rice-wines I didn't have a fancy glass like Robb had (or any clean ones) so settled for a mug from the days when I actually liked Everland. -

Was kind of surprised to see T Express wasn't in the top 10 woodens but then looking at where Balder is, it's maybe due to less voters having ridden it.
