  1. I heard the line reached 10 hours long. I find this amusing because we have white castle restaurants all over the place out my way. Is there any white castle restaurant locations in Florida? Is there a white castle within a 4 and a half hour drive from fun spot? People could have saved some time
  2. So I was going to mention these when I started my TR's for 2015 but I figured since nearly all of these bits of news tie into the updates I made in this thread, I thought it'd serve as a nice epilogue to theose. Lost Valley, one of Everland's newest rides, second safari ride and one of the biggest crowd eaters has been closed for the last 3-4 months and still has no re-opening date. I'd assumed it had gone down for annual work due to the cold temperatures for the animals (the lion, tiger and bear safari ride is open all year round) but it now turns out it's been closed due to the risk of foot and mouth, the indoor zoo exhibition area has also had to be closed and the bird show has vanished from the schedule due to the risk of bird flu. It came at a pretty bad time for Everland, T Express and the rapids were closed for its winter rehab and the log flume is being replaced/upgraded behind construction walls for the 2015 attraction, combined with the half day schedules meaning capacity was severely down over the winter months. Due to the above, the fast passes Everland promoted that I mentioned in my TR have also been suspended. I thought they might have come back when T Express opened and just allowed people to substitute for the closed Lost Valley but for now the passes are suspended. It seems after the accident the fun house will be permanently closed. Nothing official has come from the park but after months of saying closed on the app and map, all mention has been removed from the app, website and park map and we all know how well that worked out for Eagles Fortress. I mentioned earlier that the helicycles that sit behind the funhouse literally open for only a few days a year on the busiest days, maybe now with the funhouse closed they could do something with the area. I hope it isn't just left to sit there and rot like Eagles Fortress and the big wheel already are (and the helicycles for 360 days) Everland also seem to have currently changed the night time entertainment schedule to fridays-sundays only so if you want to see the lights parade and the fireworks/laser show time your day trip accordingly. The Top Scan, Let's Twist, has had a lot of closed days this year compared to the other rides, so if you're interested on riding it check the Everland app before you go. In news of things that have come to Everland: Kfc has taken over the diner in the middle of the American area. Though there are franchises in the park for attractions (Thomas, Rio, Pororo etc) I think this may be the only franchise restaurant that has been at Everland since I started visiting. There's a new show replacing the Madagascar show with Everlands own new mascots that were unveiled this year. Hopefully it will change soon but right now, the Madagascar characters and signs still sit both outside and inside the theater with new banners draped over some madagascar parts or to the side on other parts. Everland has set up a glamorous campsite in the middle of the park, it's located just under the american section of the park near the dragon coaster, prices vary due to events and season but it seems to be the Everland equivalent to renting a Cabana at a waterpark, it gives you a lace to return to and rest in during your day at Everland: http://www.everland.com/web/everland/favorite/glamping/index.html That's it for my 2014 updates, when I do return to Everland to do a full TR by myself and see what happened in the log flumes area, i'll try out some of Everland's single rider passes and trek up the hill to grab some updates on Eagles Fortress. I know Robb asked earlier in the thread and honestly I always forget to go look, since the big wheel became SBNO it's very hard to get pictures with it all hidden in the trees, the only way to look is from T Expresses lift hill and i'll obviously never take a camera on there and break the park rules, perhaps everyone will have to wait until Robb comes back one day to shoot a new POV video. Honestly as you've probably seen from this thread 2014 I really haven't enjoyed my times to Everland with the closed kids rides and half day policies resulting in the quiter the park being, the less rides are open (heck one quiet Monday I went I missed out on the top scan because they only opened it for 2 hours) meaning even on quieter days lines can be impossible to pick (yesterday with Chinese tourists still over from New Year lines but a yellow dust health warning telling people not to go outside, lines were hitting 2 hours but rides still alternated times) but don't let that put you off going. I've honestly found Sundays to be the magic day for me this year, yes the park is a lot busier but you'll probably find more rides open, if you read the map and know you don't need to run to T Express (where the ticket line can be huge) and can go to other ticket booths to reserve you'll probably find if you time it right at T Expresses entrance (around 35 minutes past the hour) that you'll wait less time than you would on a weekday (I've seen 40-80 minutes on weekdays when entering the line with my ticket late in the hour on sundays i wait 20-30). The only thing I will say about weekdays is if you want to do the safari rides, each one lasts around 15 minute and are walk-ons on weekday mornings and pick up in the afternoon but on weekends they'll be hit by familys for most of the day (Lost Valley seems to get quietest at lunch and Safari World around late afternoon). The other option is to take a gamble and go on a Friday. Some weekdays the park is completely empty and some days its packed, it can just be blind luck but friday is a day where you're less likely to hit half day ride openings, can be empty until lunch-time and is the only day outside the weekends where you can still see all the night entertainment shows.
  3. Or 20 minutes of him singing: Check out the color the water please no selfie sticks or twitter and no ones drunk or bitter without an annual pass! World of color water and light like a magic trick done in plain sight why do people love it when it's really meh? when it's just some projections that aren't really there? But then i think of Simba and Elsa and Ariel and Tarzan or when Scar made his brother take that nasty fall *Spoiler alert* Or something along those lines
  4. I think some-one said better quality projectors, it's still 2D though. It also has a fast-pass line, but i've heard of them selling out an hour before the park opens since the fast-pass was the only way to avoid having to queue up for a timed entry ticket to the Harry Potter part, although that might have calmed down now Harry Potter land has been open a while.
  5. Damn, the shop has already gone? I hope everyone already bought their Mr Fusion underwear.
  6. I've mentioned it before in my TR's and I made a thread asking a while ago how people felt about rides becoming fast-pass only rides with no standby line, Everland on weekends and holidays runs a lot of their rides on different fast pass only systems. T Express for nearly all of its operating time is fast pass only. You need to line up and get a reservation ticket to come back later to ride. The tickets were never staggered they were always from 0 clock until 50 minutes past for everyone. However nobody seems to read the park map to see their are multiple ticket booths around the park and i've seen people wait almost an hour for a fast pass ticket because they all run to the T Express ticket booth. After 3PM it was first come first serve to enter the line, which meant as soon as the queue was in danger of going past T Expresses closing time the line was shut (T Express closes a lot earlier because of the fireworks nearby) Before it closed down to be replaced/upgraded the flume ride had an interesting system. As soon as the line hit 60 minutes the standby line was closed and fast pass tickets were handed out, but unlike T Express they were staggered and once they hit 5pm that was it you couldn't line up until then, and then it was first come first serve same as t express. They also run tickets only on the 15 minute hologram show where you pick the show-time and come back, it runs every half hour though because they change the show each time. I wonder how people would feel if they could choose a show time for Shrek 4D or Mickeys Philharmagic, no waiting in line but you can only go once at that exact time and when all the shows are full you can't go anymore. The shows that run 3 times a day and the kids indoor playground are also reservation only, you choose your time (or for the playground time slot) and when the number of tickets are gone that's it, so you have to grab quite a few different tickets when you first enter the park.
  7. Too many simulators? If you ever visit Korea, you might not like Lotte World then
  8. Wow they really can't catch a break, the aquarium is still closed, the worlds biggest cinema is still closed and another accident this week: http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/nation/2015/02/116_173724.html
  9. A few months later and the incidents are starting to take their toll on the shop-owners businesses: http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/biz/2015/02/123_173491.html
  10. So looks like the amazing spiderman series is dead and spidey is getting another reboot, but this time he'll be part of the MCU. It looks like the new movie is taking Thor 3's spot: http://marvel.com/news/movies/24062/sony_pictures_entertainment_brings_marvel_studios_into_the_amazing_world_of_spider-man
  11. My wife had never seen the movie when we saw the show in Singapore and Japan, and she just enjoyed watching the stunts and effects and the men splashing the audience at the start, she liked the look of the arena too. She had no idea it was based on a film when we were in Japan, after Space Fantasy and Hollywood Dream, she assumed Waterworld was just the name of that area of the park.
  12. Beats a bunch of ugly, plain scaffolding. Personally my favorite is still Lotte World's it's just the sky and some hot air balloons passing by, honest approach: http://szsup.tistory.com/613 (click the black box and scroll down)
  13. ^^ Isn't that a different game? This thread is about Frontiers Coaster Park Tycoon but that post was all about RCT World, maybe it should go here: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=68727
  14. Oh, god I hope not. I still think that Carthay Circle was the dumbest, most ugliest building they could have chosen to put at the entrance of DCA. People in California don't even know what that building is, or had never heard of it before DCA and now of course they all now pretend to be "experts" on it! We never ate there because the menu never looked appealing to either of us. That, IMO, would be far worse than the Chinese theater! lol I'll be completely honest, having absolutely 0 knowledge of California and never really paying too much attention to DCA outside of seeing a few videos of the bigger rides, world of color and Cars Land, I'd always assumed when people talked about the Carthay restaurant, that it was a part of Cars Land and was a really terrible pun of the word cafe.
  15. Pulled up google earths oldest satellite image, looks even more mickeyish in black and white. (and before the hat)
  16. On the official page they just put this status: https://www.facebook.com/FunSpotAmerica?fref=ts Seems that a permanent one could be coming eventually. Edit: Seems this information got posted above at the same time.
  17. If they knew it would be there for such a very short time though, why ask TPR to come out and film it? Your suggestion also makes sense but it just seems strange to try and get publicity for a ride that was so temporary.
  18. Doesn't Drayton Manor have the same ride? England gets plenty of rain throughout operating season.
  19. ^ I thought that too but Robb corrected me. For some reason I thought the seat that came off years ago was from the cylon side and whatever incident shut it down this time was the human side but it sounds like it's always been the human side. I was under the impression that it was a seat from the inverted side that came off. Could be wrong though. I think that was the first incident, this second closure was apparently due to the human side of the ride.
  20. Sorry if it's too off-topic but I saw this in my local supermarket last month and thought of Epcot's food festival.
  21. To answer my own earlier question, it seems they have numbered benches set up for the lottery ticket winners: http://szsup.tistory.com/663 Boy is that blog making me miss Tokyo with each new update, the costumes are incredible I need to try and hop over on one of those weeks and brave the crowds. I had no idea Tokyo disneyland had a different night parade for when it's raining, instead of just outright cancelling. On my last snowy trip they cancelled the day parades but cleared out the snow for the full night parade. Also i'd seen the mickey shaped burgers before but not the mickey egg yolks
  22. It's not what you think, there's been a big deal with what is believed to be "government mafia" coming in the night and trashing street stands because the government is currently very unhappy with all the unlicensed street vendors that line a lot of the streets, take cash and don't pay tax and one of the biggest sellers was knock-off selfie sticks. You couldn't exit any of the main subways without seeing at least 4 vendors selling these. Koreans love selfies, so as I said in my earlier post them and tablets to record are everywhere in the parks. The government hasn't banned them at all, just the knock-offs, you'll still see them everywhere here too.
