Theme Park Review's "Halloween in Orlando" 2009
televisedconfession replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Haha, beaner boat ride. If I were full Mexican, and not just half, I may think that only half funny. Viva Mexico cabrones! Great update. Hope you're all staying hydrated. There's a stomach virus going around Orlando too. Had it last weekend when Kim, Roxy and I went. It's freakin hot! Have fun guys. -

Disney to acquire Marvel

Disney is like a giant vacuum cleaner. Pretty soon Disney will pay a trillion dollars for your soul. But Gosh Darn-it, you gotta love their theme parks. This move is a surprise to me, but it makes sense. I really don't think we'll see any of the characters in the theme parks ANY time soon. The Disney Parks are way too family friendly for something like that. I think the only way they would use it would be with a Magical Villains and Superheros 5th Park in Walt Disney World. And we all know that's GOING to happen. What I think we will see, are new saturday morning cartoons on ABC and the Disney Channel. Only time will tell though. -

TPR's West Coast Trip 2009!

Discovery Kingdom was very much a surprise hit for me. The park is clean, the staff is friendly, and the rides were all pretty good. (I try and forget they have an SLC though.) I do want to give shout out to an awesome ride op from that night. I don't remember her name, but she was awesome. Every time I entered the station for V2, we would do the Fonz to each other and yell "EEEEEYYYY!" Also the Roar ride op was awesome too. You know, they all were great. This was the best Six Flags park I've ever been to, and one of the best parks of the WCT. Thank you to Discovery Kingdom for all they did for us. It was an awesome event, and they're an awesome park. Keep up the great operations!!!! -

Looks like things are going well. How are the smaller groups working out? I'm excited for your Dollywood and Texas updates. -
^^ I think what he was implying was that Busch just wants bragging rights for a certain period of time. Once the nostalgia of the coaster wears down, they'll be allowed to do that at other parks. For example. Montu and Dueling Dragons. Obviously it would be unwise for B&M to do 100% Exclusivity for the Busch Parks. And I'm sure Alpengeist's "uniqueness" has worn off. That was really interesting information. I'm sure things have changed over time, but hearing things like this makes me happy. Thanks for sharing what you know!

Stratosphere's New 'Ride'

I get vertigo just thinking about this. I'd have to have A LOT of alcohol in my system in order for me to do this. -
Ideas for a new IOA coaster?
televisedconfession replied to Movieguy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
See, I could see IOA easily getting an indoor & heavily themed ride, like The Mummy next door. I could see them doing Mummy/Spiderman mash up type thing. I don't think we'll ever see a hyper, stand-up, or a wooden coaster at IOA. Something more generic and compact would fit better. I agree with Tyler, and could see a water coaster of some sort really easily. I think, in terms of major coasters, they've already been added. At this point, I see Universal getting the bigger coasters now. I could also see a cute family coaster going into Seuss Landing. Something quirky and cute would be awesome. I'm thinking a Grinch theme. -

I wish we had awesome water ride themes like that here in the states. I want something more than Happy Fun Laughing-Place themes sometimes. What ever happened to good old cannibalism anyway? -

Great PTR Kim! The Boat Chute ride looks AMAZING. I pass by Lake Winnie a lot in my drive up to Michigan, I've really have to stop one day. Looks awesome. Can't wait for the aquarium pics. -
I think they should try and repay all the money they owe before they buy another franchise. Besides, there still more Superman possibilities out there.. Superman: Ride of Man In Tights Superman: Faster That A Speeding Bullet Superman: Brandon Routh Didn't Cut It Superman: The Return of Kevin Spacey's Character Superman: Six Flag's Search For More Money. The possibilities are endless.

Inverted Wooden Coaster
televisedconfession replied to Vffreak07's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes, Pain is the only logical outcome to this coaster concept, but imagine flying by with those wood planks surrounding you. I think it would be Intense. Both visually and painfully. But still, ouch. Bad, bad idea. Now the Whip. Let's see that built ASAP! -
