  1. Re: blacking out- it occurs as a result of too many positive Gs, most likely coming out of a vertical loop. What happens is your field of vision goes black, then comes back. This has happened to me many times, and I never knew what it was until I started learning about coasters. It's not really scary, just not all that pleasant, and not fun like negative Gs. Re: Mantis- This coaster pulls some very strong Gs, which are absorbed by your legs/knees, even if you ride correctly and don't lock your knees. I was on it once (when I was "younger"), and I would not go on it again because it would kill my knees.
  2. Beautiful pics, especially the night ones of MK. ALso good ones of the inside of Space Mountain. I love the pic of the donkey w/the pile of poop in the foreground. The penguin statues at Sea World are cute.
  3. As for her being separated from the general population, this is standard practice with any "high profile" inmate. I can imagine her being in jail is going to be a big headache for the jail staff, which would be much worse if she was in the general population. They do this not only for the safety of the inmate, but also to try to keep things as normal as possible in the jail. Hopefully the experience will cause her to take some responsibility for her behavior. PS- I'm a probation officer, that's why I know this stuff.
  4. Beautiful pics! Maverick looks awesome. That's some skyline CP has (I haven't been there in a while)!
  5. Looks like Silver Bullet, from what I can see. Even the promise of rollercoasters wouldn't entice me to open a math book! I guess it's a good idea, though.
  6. Thanks for the great pics! Great logo, great theming, what more could you ask for? And not only are those trains huge, they look as comfortable as my living room recliner!
  7. Great pics, especially of Kvasten. It looks really cool, especially w/the theming. That indoor breakdance thing sounds like a fun ride.
  8. I hate the phrase "slept in". Slept IN what? I say "slept late" or "overslept", or "didn't get up" (which I do often).
  9. Nice pics- looks like a nice park. That soda is HUGE! I must say I've petted many animals, but never a stingray. I think I'd like to- they look pretty cool.
  10. Nice TR and pics. Superman looks great. I can't believe you found a homemade bong! That's some body on Catwoman. I remember listening to Slick Rick and Rob Base.. I guess that makes me old
  11. That sounds cool! Somebody should make a Shakespeare-themed park- that'd be really cool.
  12. I'd do it- I love heights. But I'd hope they could come up with something more imaginative than a swing (like a real ride).
  13. I'm assuming you've never been to Pennsylvania.... not only do they not serve alcoholic beverages at amusement parks, they don't even SELL it in GROCERY STORES! (not that I care or anything, I just think it's dumb)
  14. Nice pics, especially of Loup-Garou and Vampire. You're right- the theming on Flashback is really weird. I remember this park from RCT2. Vertigo looks neat.
  15. ^ And I guess the tables will be reserved for employees or guests who want to pass out!
  16. Great TR, as always. Especially good pics of Great Bear. And I love the one of the porcupine!
  17. From what I've read, the fault is totally the park's for putting off that safety inspection. If I lived in Japan (or even if I didn't, which I don't) I would never go to that park. Any park that is too lazy to do safety checks doesn't deserve to operate.
  18. Good pics. Love the caption for Deja Vu! Raging Bull looks awesome.
  19. I think I'd pick one of the OLD parks, such as Luna Park or Dreamland, circa 1900 when electricity was the new thing and there were millions of lights everywhere. It's funny- the lights, not the rides, were the attractions. I've seen some pics of these places at night and they're absolutely stunning.
  20. I am sort of a freelance investigator, so I work whenever. Interview people, call people, type- whenever, with no regards to day or time. It's all the same in the end- I get my reports done and get paid the same as my unfortunate colleagues who ride a desk M-F, 9-5. So I'm all for the "free structured" work schedule- I think it can be more productive and make people happier, especially if they have families or other stuff. I don't think laziness has anything to do with it, as the work has to get done sometime.
  21. I would be a lizard, so I could lay in the sun in the desert all day and nobody would bother me. (I'm lazy)
  22. I just saw one of these- at least it sounds like what you're describing- on a site called amusement video.com. It's found under the German fair section.
  23. Great pics! CC looks really cool- I'm surprised how much theming they put into it. Looks like it will be a fun ride. Musik Express looks like something out of a bad acid trip (not that I would know what that looks like, of course). I never cared much for the Flying Carpet, so I'm not sad to see it go.
  24. "Doing their thing" "full-on"! (gasp) I'm sure that kid is scarred for life!
  25. Great pics, especially of the coasters. They all show the layout real well. THose are some strange-looking characters walking around- I don't know if I'd want any of them touching me
