I was back at the park last Friday to check on the progress of Cheetah Hunt. Looking good! Cheetah Hunt merchandise is now available in the Emporium. These are just a few of the shirts that are available. The Cheetah Chase wild mouse has officially changed its name to Sand Serpent. The new attraction sign went up about a week ago. Looks great! And I'll end with some random animal shots... *YAWN* OMG! WATER! F**K YOU! I'M A FLAMINGO!

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

Once again... Montu at Busch Gardens last Friday. Also rode Kumba earlier in the day. -
I had a nice pint of Stella at the Lucky Leprechaun in Orlando last Thursday night. Made up for the crappy Miller Lite I had earlier in the evening at Hard Rock Live during the Scissor Sisters concert.

I want to check out the Clearwater Marine Aquarium sometime. I live maybe 15 minutes away. Besides Winter (the dolphin that uses a prosthetic tail), there's Panama the dolphin, who they recently discovered is deaf, plus they just rescued an orphaned baby dolphin that's going to share the pool with Winter once she's big enough. They also have some turtles and river otters along with some other stuff. -

I've been waiting forever to see what the Ariel AA's look like and overall I'm impressed. Was expecting a little more with the hair though. Was hoping it would look more realistic and flowy instead of a kind of bulky, red blob of plastic, but hopefully under the show lighting it'll look much better. As far as the AA overall is concerned, she moves pretty good and looks exactly how Ariel looks in the movie. Bravo on that aspect! This really makes me look forward to the version we're getting in Florida in another year or two.

Still loving this trip report! The photo of the kangaroo in the box is hilarious? What is that box exactly? The sign looks like it says "Self-Service kangaroo food?" I love kangaroos and wallabys. Obviously considering how many photos I take and post of them here when I go to Busch Gardens Tampa. I can easily spend HOURS in the kangaroo area watching them and feeding them and petting them. They're just so freaking AWESOME! Now they just need to get some koalas and wombats and I'd be a happy girl. BTW, you stole that baby koala for me, right? -

Tilly is WAY too big to be put back in the show. He's already killed 2 trainers. I know probably he thought he was only playing and didn't know he did something wrong, but this guy is just humungoid. If something else happens and he's responsible, Sea World better not start crying because they know Tilly is a liability. They should just give him full access to all the whale pools when there aren't shows going on and keep up with his physical and mental stimulation without the trainers being too close to him. -

Wow this thread brought back some serious memories for me! We visited Opryland several times in the 80's. My last visit was in 1991. I know I have some photos from that trip and probably some from the old trips too. I'll have to see about digging them out and scanning some in to post. And now a couple funny Opryland stories... I don't remember what year it was, but it was sometime in the early or mid 80's. My parents &I were at the park and we decided to go on Grizzly River Rampage. None of us had been on a water ride like this, so we didn't know what to expect really. My mom & I took the only 2 dry seats on the raft, thinking we'd be ok. We ended being the ONLY TWO who got SOAKED. And with it being the 80's, my mom was wearing one of those one piece shorts/halter top things... made of TERRYCLOTH! So that thing absorbed so much water and just CLUNG to her! She had to go into the bathroom to wring out her clothes. She said it was like wearing a wet washcloth the rest of the day. She was PISSED! Then in 1991, my best friend was with us and we decided to go on Chaos. We had no idea what it was about... and still don't. The effects weren't working, so they were just sending trains through in the pitch black building. We thought it was fun and did it 2 or 3 more times. I kept trying to take photos with the flash to see what was inside the building, but all I got were photos of black walls. So then I took a photo of my friend in the car in front of me and when it was developed, the flash made it look like she had NO FACE! Oh here's one more funny Opryland story... It was in the early 80's. I was riding some antique carousel they had (it was unique as it was like all carriages or something... no horses). While my parents were waiting for me, this golf cart comes driving by with a park employee and some guy eating an ice cream cone. My mom realized he was somebody famous (probably a country singer) because people came up and asked for his autograph. Since she was standing right there, she offered to hold the ice cream while he signed autographs and he happily obliged. She peeked to see what name he signed... "T.T. Hall". After the autograph hounds left, he did a photo shoot, got his ice cream back from my mom & left. That night my mom went in the first record shop we came across and started looking through the "H" section until she came across him.... It was Tom T. Hall! A couple months later, my dad got one of his RV magazines in the mail and lo and behold.... in it was an ad with none other than Tom T. Hall and the carousel I was riding at Opryland was in the background! My mom was all "I held his ice cream cone while he shot that ad!"

I was in Tampa yesterday and there was a carnival in the parking lot at the mall the BF & I were going to. They had one of those spinning dragon rides and I immediately started laughing as I was reminded of a certain ghetto fair in Valencia, CA.

Superman looks awesome! But yeah the Superman in the back "pushing" the trains is definitely laugh-worthy. I was like "WTH!?" when I looked at the pics. Scooby Doo looks really neat! Did you get a video with the lights off too? Looks like the Scooby "AA's" in the ride are modeled after the Scooby from the more recent movies instead of the animated one. Can't wait to see more!
